  1. got the parts today, nearly finished. Had to rebuild the whole front section a bit. The roof is one stud shorter now, and the windowfront is 2 studs wider on the base. All i need now are 8x part 3023 in trans black to close the remaining space. for the meanwhile i´m really satisfied with the result, i think its close to the original when considering the different part size. this could be an alternative mod with 2white and 8 trans black 1x1 slopes. But for me i stick to the first version.
  2. sure, it´s a really simple construction with a Lego technic rotation joint to adjust the angle.
  3. Ah this looks also nice, i like the tiles in front of the windshield. For everything else, i try to leave the optic similar to TLG version.
  4. as i read problem is already solved, i would have used this part: http://peeron.com/inv/parts/32532 you could use much more pins and plates to connect it in multiple ways. Drawed with LDP (lego digital paint) :)
  5. Good evening, when bricklinking the rebel snowspeeder in 2016 you come across with ridiculous part prices for the canopy and the orange parts. I finished it a few weeks ago white - old gray - old dark gray - yellow and a mild colour mix with light bluish gray especially for the technic pin connectors. Different to TLG Model is also a 360degree display stand which allows to show it different angles and different angles of inclination For the canopy i used light-blue glasses all over, yesterday i ordered some different trans black parts for the front. From what i see the best substitution for the windshield is part: 72475 Windscreen 3 x 4 x 4 Inverted this is imho the only canopy in form and dimension which would and be a good substitute. But what about the roof hinge, so far i use a white one, it could be decorated with "trans-black tiles 1x2" or and this is what i decided, i use 2x tile hinge part: 30350c Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Clips in trans-black colour I´m open for any recommendations.
  6. Good evening Lobot, you are totally right with your observation about the slopes on the top, i needed to make a defined height in the range of a few studs the excessive use of this slopes was a tribute to that, there are 3 to 4 Rows missing on top, and my plan "up there" is to get rounder and rounder on the top rows until ending with 1x6 rounded slopes. Will post a picture when the next building step is finished. Thank you for the link - didn´t know this moc. As mickey wrote, size is incredible. LED Light is planned for the roof as well as the ground lights. My "reference is still this", but for the hangar doors the scene of "empire strikes back". I buy the 95098 mostly because of minifigs and some small details, not sure if i build it up completely.
  7. true, for me - i never had the feeling that the model was really finished, this was very unsatisfying for me.
  8. did you mix light bluish with light gray? Picture 5 looks like this. edit: oh i see part 30365. Would not do this to be honest. Have Bricklinked 10179, 10212, 10174, 10129, 10178 mostly with new parts and in the right color. i started with 10174 with mixed colours from my stock and it looked horrible, trust me you will regret it not now but when you have finished it. No offense, have fun
  9. i know this is "some" kind of commercial, if mod´s don´t want it here - just delete it. As i noticed many members bricklink their UCS i came to the idea to provide "a starterset" as superlot for the UCS Star destroyer. I listed it yesterday at ........ does not matter. What do you think, is this a good way to go, or should i skip that superlot thing?
  10. 2nd Version looks goooood :)
  11. Hi ellis, thank you, the door works - haven´t build the 2nd one right now but the technic part with the gears is done. You can see the ordinary wheel on the left bottom of the 2nd picture. I have tried this LDD thing but to be honest - i hate it, it´s boring to the bone, and does not fit into my picture of "Lego-building" but nevertheless everyone who design something with this LDD has my deep respect. regards mc
  12. 2 evenings later... Need more slopes but 95% of the height are done, outside nearly finished exept the details. Hangar doors will look like this. Will use a smaller scale x-wing than 6212 and a small snowspeeder moc. the UCS is way too big
  13. if the are close in scale - didn´t know that the falcon is that much bigger than slave 1.
  14. Have found the building instructions of x-wing and snowspeeder, but no part list, just wondering if you would share it?
  15. I skip this LDD thing, because i spend so much time in front of computers... Better build it just in time - even with try and error. There was not that much progress, when looking at the movie scene the ice-entrance is really long until hangar doors start. I try to capture this moment as good as a can in that scale. Most dark bluish gray parts will arrive this week. So i could not finish the hangar door but i have a "first idea" of what would it look like, fine tuning will start when i have all parts.
  16. This is soooooo fantastic! Great attention to details. Looked this scene today (building hangardoors ATM) I really hope my Hoth moc will look a bit of that cool as this creation. Use same or similar pillar construction like you. But not 100% sure about the scale yet. Snowspeederscale is perfect in my eyes. Also xwing look nice and detailed. Hammer Kunstwerk! Respekt!
  17. UCS: most favorite 10179 Millenium Falcon because of impression and size 10212 Imperial Shuttle - greatest design 75060 Slave 1 - also great design 10174 AT ST favorite 75095 Tie fighter 10215 Obi Fighter Snowspeeder: 10129 rebuild Non UCS: 10178 motorized AT AT
  18. good morning, started with the baseplate of the echo base - unfinished model onto it is a x-wing 6212-1. I plan to put 2 inside. Pillars / Support in place. In other terms - "huston i have a scale problem". Can´t build the baseplate wider. What can i do - leave it as it is? downscale the x-wing fighter?
  19. this looks very! good, color variety is a good idea as we can expect much dirt around snow scenes as well as some ice. i also thougt about something similar - i use some used white tiles for this reason but still missing many parts (b - c quality) to start with the baseplates.
  20. easy task :) but pretty much out of scale.
  21. i´m still waiting for some parts, time for a hoth scene around the battle. Long time ago in a galaxy far far away one snowtrooper was catched while...
  22. My shuttle ended up with ~320€ missing two minifigs, used 95% new parts, especially for the wings. So not that cheap.
