Not to mention, why aren't we carrying wooden shoring? Everyone in the Navy knows that wood is better for shoring than metal because it moves with the ship and will achieve a more watertight seal. Welding plates to seal hull breaches is virtually impossible. What we were taught was get a matress and hold it on the side with wooden shoring. I think we should abandon this compartment and close the hatch before we lose the ship! *sing*

technobabble? technobabble! technobabble *sing* Have you seen me make a Star Trek MOC! I think you are using the wrong word to insult me. I am more accurately described as a "self servicer". If I used technobabble I would be making up stuff to explain things. I don't even allow artificial gravity in my MOCs! :-| ;-)

Welcome to Eurobricks fartface! First of all I would like to say that your photography is excellent. If it wasn't for the fact that is is missing a watermark I would think it was someone elses! *wub* But on the MOC itself, while it is extreamely unique and interesting, I think it does need some tweaks before it is perfect. 1. The baseplate - I wouldn't reccomend this. It stands out too much. If you haven't got the pieces to fill it then you really should pick something smaller. 2. The pieces - Going by some of your pieces I can tell that your Lego collection must be decent, yet you seem to be picking pieces at random from several themes. Is this the look you were going for? I personally wouldn't use so much variety as it is hard to make it all work. I have never seen a haunted spacecraft before though! :-P 3. Engines - Try to think of how this spaceship will work. The engines at the back are isolated and have no way of being fueled or even controlled. As Chuck said, making it steampunk could be what you want. That way you can do fantastical designs but still have them semi-believable. (I should remind you though that you shouldn't worry about polluting deep space, one little ship can't make that much difference.) I would love to see the next phase of this very interesting creation. I laughed my head off when I saw that! :-P It's great to see your old title back too. *sweet*

Well you still won it didn't you? Congrats... I think!

I think you are still the master, and I, the learner. :-P But that is one of the biggest reasons why I don't like them. They either don't fit and are too loose, or they are too tight and damage pieces. That is what makes them illegal. But is all a personal preference though and while I love the look of your work, I rarely comment on it because it often makes me cringe. It is a shame that I don't like illegal part usage because you are so darn good at it. 8-

That's a shame as I was curious if you could salvage it. I tried to make something similar a few years ago but I had far less pieces than I have now and I stupidly wanted to use pieces from the 7249 crane. :-| The idea was that the front was mainly just a cabin that connected to engines via a long shaft so it was supposed to be blocky! I spent one day on it and then six months looking at it before it fell in the sorting bin! :-D

Let it never be said that you can't take advice! :-D Great improvments. *sweet*

Naaah it's OK. All Douglas Adams promotion is good. :-D

Now that's hardcore. I could learn to love a man like you.... 8-|

I wouldn't waste your time doing the exchange rate as it generally has little to do with the price. Sometimes we get a bargain and it is only 10% more than the US price, other times it is more than twice the price... :-|

Great work aayla-secura! I so want the rocket! It would be so cool to have a Spongebob on a space setting! :-D I can't wait to see better photos, especially of Sandy. ...and I love your new signature! :-P

Well as you say, it is blocky, but blocky by itself isn't a problem The shuttles of Star Trek were often blocky but many (not me) like them. Personally I think this is over ambitious considering your pieces. I think I have more pieces than you but I wouldn't try to make something with so much internal room. Try to build something with less internal room and you should be able to make a less boxy shape. On the other hand, considering you worked on it for an hour or so it is pretty good! I was working on a space craft last night and I spent an hour on just the cockpit and it still isn't finished. :-$ However you have some great ideas and I look forward to more interesting creations from you! *sweet*

I think this would make a great aircar, but it doesn't really look like a "StarFighter" to me, but I do have different tastes to many. Aside for the fact that the engines look too small for something of that size, for something to be a fighter to me it needs either; 1. Wings so it can maneuver in an atmosphere 2. Thrusters or engines pointing in more directions other than just backwards or... 3. Thrusters or engines that can direct their thrust in some way. (My favourite) With that design your ship has no way of slowing down and even changing direction would be hard. You saw the ship that Starwars4J posted recently; that's what I like. Thrusters need to be as far forward and aft as possible for them to work. Boxyness never has bothered me as in space it doesn't matter, but if yours is a space figher it needs more tweaks to be a convincing one. Other than that I agree with Starwars4J that it is good to see that cockpit being used.

Great idea. It really adds to the castle. *wub* I'd be interested if I had the set. It recently turned up at the local shops but I am saving the bikkies for something else...

You know, sometimes I think this place needs a competition booking schedule... :-P

I love it! Are you still planning another one?
-
Yep! I'm quoting myself! Nobody listens to me! >:-( To make things worse, we are all separated now. :-|

Could this be the last number for the lock?

Great find aayla-secura! *sweet* Mini Roboter - Yes! Alien Jet - No! (Army of Jellies! :-X ) The double clip piece is cool though. The Knight - Yes! With the extra armour you can equip a second non-castle minifig. Magician - Yes! I'm still very low on beards and it has that circle 4x4 plate! Police Man - Yes-ish. I wouldn't mind another cop or two and another dog. Building worker - Perhaps. I want the cone piece and those circle 4x4 plates but I already have too many workers... Streetcleaner - Yes! I need more bins! Fireman - Yes; I still haven't got a grey sawblade! :-| These are just what I wanted. *wub* Hopefully the Australian price will be good...

It seemed appropriate! :-P

Seeing we have just ransacked his cabin, does Mr Mason have any comments?

Thanks for the thanks guys! *sweet* I started building today! *sweet* It didn't bother me as I downloaded the instructions prior to buying the set. I think it was a deliberate choice to make the house flashy looking but not very functional. Due to the cool looking corners it isn't very strong either; while breaking it I was reminded of a zip! :-P These were my first windows like that and it surprised me. I wouldn't be surprised if Lego are trying to phase out the old windows. I notice that, but since didn't show what the original set looked like I saw that more of a MOC. 8-| I was actually considering adding a link to your MOC anyway. Thanks! :-P Once again, I think this is just a sign of all style, no substance! :-D Fair point. What confuses me though is the (CG) cover has the rough ones shown... :-|

I agree. The Jelly and Fire Engine competitions have categories and I am curious how they will go.
