Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Agent Kallus replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well we've already seen Barad-dûr, this was from the same source and the survey was about pricing not whether the sets should exist in the first place. ( I think) I dunno but some of the choices they've made here gives me renewed hope -

It's funny how I guessed it was a hour till reveal and then it was immediately revealed I've read through the set description properly now. So 5th for VIPs , with the existing Frodo and gollum brickheadz as a nonexclusive gwp. I guess I can alway give brickhead Frodo better hair. -

The one ring part had been seen only in chrome and it's been in other sets recently. -

There's so much to take in I don't know where to start.... Well looks like there's a new weapon pack for the middle earth weapons ( like the Ninjago ones where all the parts come in one pack always bundled together) and I reckon this set will come with 2 at least of said pack looking at all the weapons we can see. It'd be very weird to make a pack like that for one set. Hell it's unusual for such a big set, hoping for system sets too. I can see an orcish looking sword, a dwarfish axe, a broken sword, a non-brokrn sword, an eleven weapon and what might be sting. New fern part is a nice unexpected surprise. I do like the new elf hair it works great for Elrond. But not so much for Arwen or legolas. Luckily I have the old legolas and quite a few other Elves from the old theme though I have more hobbit than LotR sets. ( ironically Rivendell was the only old elf focused old LotR set that I never got) so I don't really have a good alternative for Arwen but I do for legolas. Interesting that they've got sitting down builds to replace the legs of short or skirted characters, thats a new one for me and is an awesome inclusion. Gimli's helmet and Frodo's hair ( did the photographer accidentally swap Sam and merry's hair?) Are welcome returns. New dwarf beard. I like it but it looks a bit weird with hair. Some many printed statues! A shame that they don't have elven ears but them being printed us already above and beyond. No news on gwp front then? Is it 8th of march instead of the first then? I'll have to check what shift I'm on at work that week to see if can go down to the Lego store in-person. The build itself is astounding. And I love the decorated paintings and all that. Aragorn is not one of the characters I have from the old theme, so his outfit here is a bit disappointing, but it's understandable and if they do make more sets with his regular outfit then it's a nice variant. But it's just weird how all the rest of the fellowship are in their iconic looks and he isn't. -

Fine, I'll do it myself. I went onto twitter () and saw that the teaser was posted at 3.01pm GMT. Assuming that they keep to the same schedule and post the full reveal around 3pm GMT today that means we should see it properly in about an hour !! This might just my most anticipated set ever. ( If not this then that Deku tree or the Doctor Who ideas set ) -

Well the one ring extracts a heavy toll, and I don't think Lego poured their cruelty, their malice and their will to dominate all life into this set but I guess we won't know for dure till we see the exact price. Though gram for gram the set better weigh more for the price! coincidently I've already booked the first of March off of work, but hopefully I'll be filming then but if that falls through I might head to my local store (so glad there one in Bristol now, Cardiff used to be my closest). But I can always buy it online if I am filming that day. but I might yet end up waiting for a good gwp (or more than 1 gwp!) or double points depending on how it all works out. -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Agent Kallus replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not really a spoiler cause it's from an official trailer but I've used the brackets just in case there's anyone who wants to not see it. Talking about official trailers from Nintendo, we are due a Nintendo direct soon which should have a TotK focus, maybe they'll reveal this set there?, I suppose that depends on when it's due to release of course, but it looks like one of the more finished of the jeangreyforever survey leaks and releasing the set around may when TotK comes out would be a logical move to capitalise on Zelda being thrust to the forefront of the pop-culture zeitgeist. -
MOC: Hell's Kitchen (Daredevil modular building)
Agent Kallus replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think it's pretty good. I mean. The outside fits the aesthetic of the area from show perfectly, and the inside does quite a few scenes and does them well. Sorry mods for reviving an old-ish thread but I thought I couldn't leave this mic with a deserved comment. -
Well I was hoping for a LotR specific one as well And hopefully double points? But perhaps I'm outta luck.

2 questions. 1- what time of day should we expect tomorrow's press release? ( assuming that's it's tomorrow since the year was today ( or technically yesterday since it's 1:51 am in my timezone, whoops, last post before bed I guess) doesn't matter what timezone as I can convert it( as you as you clarify which timezone you mean)) 2- should the first post in this topic be edited to add more recent information? ( I.e mention Rivendell and Barad-dûr) -
[MOC] Horizon: Zero Dawn machines (New: Behemoth & Longleg)
Agent Kallus replied to MaximillianRebo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Was just playing this on friday, and hunting those exact 2 machines ( well and snapmaws). Both are pretty great renditions. the behemoth is the better of the 2 but it's larger size gives you more to work with so that makes sense. -

Let's just say it doesn't normally happen to false leaks so if anyone needed anymore proof. -

Is that how they normally do it? It feels like more recently they've tried to hide what GWPs are when (The UK at least used to have pretty accessable store calendars with that sort of info but now not so much). Perhaps to trick people into making extra purchases with FOMO or perhaps because they don't know the demand for some of them or how long stocks will last ( so publishing an availability window months in advance would be a bother. Not to be too cynical but I think it's probably the former. -

Thank you , that's it. Anyway, I've been thinking about a GWP. Maybe there will be one like the Eiffel's apartment one, that has JRR himself ( at a writing desk) but made from existing minifig parts. that might be the best option from a certain point of view as it wouldn't be anything from middle earth itself that would then be made exclusive to a hard to get gwp but it would still be something fun and special. Though maybe a Nazgul on horse back with a brick built wave would be fun and relevant as long as neither the nazgul or the horde stayed exclusive for too long. -
Can only hope it lines up with Rivendell

Shame the plane set doesn't include the goat pen where they crash the biplane, with plenty of goats or the seagulls of course. -

Come on people it's a different angle, reflected and distorted, the build hasn't changed. The one in the watermarked leak looked finalised and looked like this. If you think it's verifiably different based or this tease then you might have had too much of Beorn's mead I'm kidding but it's the same. -

That would be way too big. And he doesn't have the upward ripper claw. I think the best option would be the t-rex suit tail. Avatar arms, printed minifig head with either avatar legs or new longer faun legs. -

I cant see the axel holes, where should I be looking. Though considering it's depth isn't obvious from the camera angle, that it's licensed, how tiny the minifigs look in the scene abd that $500 sets are usually around £350ish (at least the castle was, and it's the biggest set I own followed by the Ninjago city gardens and daily bugle ( not sure which of those 2 is bigger). Then I think it looks like a £350 set. -

Honestly from the photo I've got, it looks near perfect. Just the minifigs look unfinished to me but it is preliminary so I imagine they look unfinished because they are unfinished. I suspect for example that the jester will have a new jester torso. -

Lizard shouldn't be a bog dog anyway, nwh lizard is not Hulk sized. Also the bigfig mould is far from perfect, the separate head is a step in the right direction but it's still unlegolike, barely poseable and made of one huge unusable for much else body and legs part that is stuck squatting in an awkward pose with a ugly neck. -

If? Now is not the time for doubt. (Edit : but the why it shouldn't in my mind is because licensed themes subforum is already crowded since more than half of Lego's current themes are licensed) -

First other licensed theme outside of the licenced theme sub forum that came to mind. I suppose if I think about it, the thing is, that currently Lego has more licensed themes than not. That makes licensed too broad a subtheme. Not that I'm actually suggesting it but we could regroup it. Historical and fantasy - with castle, LotR, Harry potter, Zelda Elves Superheros and hero teams - with DC, Ninjago, monkie kid and marvel Imaginative themes - with creator, cmfs and Dreamzz Daily life themes urban and rural - with city, friends, trains, and the modular buildings. Explorers and seafarers - with Indiana Jones, Pirates, Johnny Thunder and PotC. Seasonal and spooky themes - monster hunters, winter village, Chinese new year, Bionicle themes - with Hero factory and bionicle Icons and misc : with icons, ideas and misc themes. Now that was just a hypothetical, and restructuring the forums would probably be more trouble than it's worth. But if we were making Eurobricks today, maybe that's how we'd sort the themes.
