Wow, very very nicely done. I love the interior as well as the lightning of it. I'll make sure to check it out in London.

The boom is strong enough to hold the bucket and all the cabledrums work smoothly. Now it is time to finish the boom with all its details like lights and staircases. That is a lot of work. there are running 4 stairs up to the top of the boom. At 2 places these stairs are connected from left to right and upper and lower stairs. Knowing myself a little bit I must finish the boom completely before I start working on the superstrucure. If I do it the otherway around the boom most likely will not be finished. building staircases. There is some progress, I have built a small section of the boom and started with the operators cabin due to a lack of technic beams and bricks Cat 8200 walking dragline WIP by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Cat 8200 walking dragline WIP by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Here's a video of the Cat slewing: [media] ]

Most of you may know me from my ships, but I started out with building mining machines. For my new project I have decided to start on a Cat 8200 dragline. A large mining machine used in stripmines to excavate overburden. I hope that I can have it finished before october this year so that I can demonstrate, it during LEGOWorld Utrecht and perhaps Brick 2015 in London, digging woodchips. My exampl: a diecast model of the Cat 8200 Caterpillar 8200 Dragline by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Ever since I finished my P&H 4100 XPC in minifig scale I wanted to build a walking dragline. but back in 2010/2011 I had no idea how to build a mechanism that was strong enough to get such a machine to walk. Let alone that I had all the technic bricks and beams needed to build a 2,20 m long boom. I now have started with the Cat 8200 walking dragline. I have a smooth working turntable and a walking mechanism that works untill now. If that will still be the case once the machine is finished remains to be seen. Since I want to put in as much detail as I have done in my Cat 7495 this will be a very heavy model, and more weight will probably result in a machine that will not walk anymore. we'll see. Here is a first photo of what I have so far: Work In Progress by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Still a lot of work to be done

Hello all, Please allow me to show my latest build. Most of my other ships are posted in the special themes forum, but since I build models in 1:40 scale after existing ships I thought I put them here, from now on. This ship is a Damen ASD 2009. The smallest stern drive azimuth tug from the dutch shipbuilder Damen. I started this ship in MLcad somewhere in 2012, but laid it aside several times to build, amongst others, the Smit zwarte Zee, the Jutlandia and the Rainbow Warrior This is a relatively small moc for me, it is 50cm long and 23cm wide. It consists out of apr. 4100 bricks. Building instructions are being created and will hopefully be available soon. That is if nothing more fun to do comes along. Thanks guys. @ Trance89: You can find the real dimensions of the ship online. I then make a one to 40 scale of it. In MLcad there is a function that tells you in studs, cm and inches the size of your creation. That way I know if I am doing the right thing.

Please allow me to post my latest build. Back in April 2014 I received an email from Greenpeace to visit their latest Rainbow Warrior while she was in the harbour of Amterdam for just 2 days. Since I wanted to build this iconic campaign vessel since 2011 when it was just launched I went over there. I took a lot of photos capturing the most important details. But I also wanted the GA and Lines plans of the ship. After talking to some Rainbow Warrior Sailors I was given the email adress of the Designated Person Ashore. After some emails and phonecalls and a NDA I received the plans. Happy me. As usual I started in MLcad. This took me about three to four months. The whole underwater ship is build upside down, the keel included. The part above the water line is build in snot. Rainbow Warrior WIP by Konajra, on Flickr The first Idea was to build the underwaterpart as one piece and split the part above in two. However during the construction of the ship it became clear that the underwatership was not going to be strong enough on its own. So I decided to build the green part of the hull in one piece and connect it to the underwatership. The hull is now one complete piece with a length of 150 cm. It is so strong that it can hold the entire finished model on the stand without using the keel as a base. That was even a suprise for me Now some photos of designing and building the ship. 3.25m long Jutlandia (Danish Hospital ship)

It is not yet clear where it is going to end up. Thanks for the comments, everyone. It is appreciated -
Finally I can reveal what has kept me busy the last two years besides all the models I have shown. The MS Jutlandia. Short history (wikipedia :) ) MS Jutlandia was contracted by and built for the East Asiatic Company (EAC) in 1934, as a combined passenger and cargo ship at EAC's NakskovShipyard, Denmark. Following an extended operational life in which she also served as a hospital ship and a royal yacht, she was finally decommissioned in 1965 Jutlandia was contracted by EAC in 1934, to replace older ships on the then regular service between Copenhagen and Bangkok. She operated on this route from November 1934, until January 1940, and again from 1954 to the end of 1964. When North Korean communist forces attacked South Korea on 25 June 1950, Denmark agreed to provide assistance to the United Nations Command and to give humanitarian support to the allied forces in South Korea. She has been to Pusan, South Korea three times and treated military personal as well megablocks civilians. Jutlandia received the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Crew members and medical staff were officially decorated by Denmark with the Erindringsmedaljen for deltagelde i hospitalsskibet "Jutlandia"s ekspedition til Korea 1951-1953 (Commemorative Medal for Participation in the Hospitalship "Jutlandia"s Expedtion to Korea 1951-1953. (479 medals were awarded). During LEGOworld Copenhagen 2013 the LEGO CEE team asked me to build a ship for them. They came up with the 130m long MS Jutlandia. It was build specifically for LEGOworld copenhagen 2015. What will be done with it afterwards is not yet decided. I started searching for plans and found them in Danmark. The man who owned was so kind to send them to me so that I could start new Mlcad project. I started somewhere in april 2013 and finished the entire hull inside and outside, wheelhouse and part of the forcastle deck at the end of august 2013. The first shipment of bricks arrived in the beginning of november 2013. From that point on I have only been building with real bricks and did not continue with the Mlcad file. On and off building due to waitng for shipments of bricks I finished the entire ship in december 2014. Designing in Mlcad took me about 5 months and the build itself took me 6 months, all evening hours. The ship is 3,25m long 43cm wide and about 1,5 m high. It consist out of 90,000- 100,000 bricks. And last but not least, a big thanks to Ralph Savelsberg (Mad physicist) for building the studless :) helicopter. Thanks mate And now some photos during the construction: ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr And the final result and details: Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr ms Jutlandia by Konajra, on Flickr Thanks for reading, photos of the finished ship and details taken by Are J.
