2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Serpent knights definately need some followup set outside the BDP, but of course it makes sense they can change some BDP elements before final product goes on sale, The set does feature a Lion Knight and Wolfpack, but I guess it partly depends on 2026. I can see Wolfpack torso probably stays in production if they do something with them + black knights, and the lion knight can always change to a horse knight or something. (or they can produce extra parts in advance for this set of course) -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

True, I don't think classic themes are going to be AFOL only, looking at 3-in-1 pirate ship lasting 5 years, maybe it'll get a followup pirate set (probably not another ship exactly like that , but a bit different due to the One Piece ship being somewhat similar, could even have different pirates vs some new style of soldiers/armada or whatever, seeing how horse/serpent knights appeared in Creator too, and the Viking Ship had unique figures as well. The new 3-in-1 castle isn't even officially released yet, still 2 months to go, but I definately plan to get more then 1 (especially since it looks like it's not exclusive, the last one was in my country) , this one has more figures too, and you can easily make 2 sets into a king and queen couple with those different torsos and crowns, and mix up the knights with those headpieces/faces. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yeah , that's pretty much what the whole CMF system is built around, and also the restrictions on licensed parts etc. Definately is a part of regular themes as well, with the Friends sets basicly getting a new horse color in each set with a horse, or even down to small sets with otters or guinea pigs, being mass-sellers for the animal mainly just being in that set. Or even recently putting unique colors of like classic space figs in sets, for the people who want to complete those etc, a lot of it is marketing. That said, doesn't mean that Pirate or Castle fans etc can't be critical in the way the handle things, and currently at least LEGO has introduced 2 new castle factions in the 3-in-1 set (I consider kraken/gryphons more as collector-items for the next years), but for now i'm sceptical , can't really judge things for the near future until we know if there will be followups for sets like LKC , 3-in-1 Pirate Ship, or Blacktron etc. (I just hope LEGO does not decide to just move those classic themes to Bricklink Designer only, buying a set, only to get it months later is no fun, even if they increased production numbers) -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I said they would make sense , BUT I am still critical as the parts aren't majorly used in alternate builds. It's like some of the Dreamzzz sets as well, they call them 2 in 1 but they really have very small changes, like the new paint truck, it basicly just splits the paint section off, without changing much of the build at all. Compared to the small 20 in 1 sets , or the 3 in 1 nightmare witch creatures changing the builds entirely, from a bird to a mech, to a wolf, etc. -

Probably the moving leg parts + the wrap-around bridle printing around the head , horses before 2012 had flat sides and no nose print, and static legs. 2012-2014 also had a lot more themes that would include those, then new horse designs, with Lone Ranger, Lord of the Rings, and Castle still around, and a few smaller sets with a horse found in LEGO Movie or Scooby Doo. Friends horses don't have the bridle print but are probably even more expensive due to being 1: dual moulded (never had one in hand so I don't know if the "hair" is rubbery like those deer antlers too?) , and 2: each set seems to get a new color combo. I sort of agree, and I really , really hope, things like the recent vote on the Sea Serpent GWP reminds them of good smaller sets are wanted too, instead of purely looking at Icons and Bricklink Designer Program. Bigger isn't always better. (I love some of the smallest newer City space sets, they feel like their own theme) -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Not really exaggerating, there have been more then 50 sets over $80 in just Friends, City and Ninjago in the past 2 years (2024/2025), and even if you take away the AFOL / display / space stuff, that's still easily 30. LEGO pumping out many, and large sets , while also cutting shelf time on many, it gets quite silly for some themes. (and yes there are still polybags, and small sets under €50 too) Imagine if "classic" Pirates or Castle would get like let's say a fraction of those sets a year, actual sets, not display models like buildable knight shields or pirate hats. (And I will never count CMF, Build a Minifig, Pick a Brick, Bricklink Designer Program, or Gift With Purchase/Insider Points as regular sets). -
I think next year, there could be room for an Airport set (friends airport and hospitals are retiring so City versions seem very likely for 2026), and the medical airplane feels out of place without. I don't expect major new systems yet, as Road Plates and Rail sets are still around for the next year.

LEGO Dreamzzz Ongoing Rumours and Discussion.
TeriXeri replied to Agent Kallus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hope the theme will do a more Pirate wave next or something. Of course there was the Shark Ship in wave 1, but they have done very little sea animals beside the narwhal balloon, and the Shark Submarine will still be around. Also 2025 had 5 Mateo and 2 Cooper sets, so Izzie should really get something bigger, and not another bunchu but perhaps some kind of animal ship. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think ever since they introduced the most recent horse with moving legs, they appear a lot less , but that could also be because the year they introduced those, 2013 was also the last castle year before a big pause and shift to icons type of sets. 70800 Getaway Glider seems to be the cheapest set with the "modern" horse, at €15, and but that was 11 years ago. Friends horses have been updated multiple times , I think the most recent version is from 2021, but has no moving legs, LEGO also had a bunch of small horse variants with no moving parts at all, newest being the ponies in 42654 Pony Ranch & Stable , and the unicorns in the 3-in-1 set. Surprisingly the small pony with 1 stud gap from 2024, is listed at €4,40, and a Friends horse at €8,63 , and both those exact animals are found in the €20 42634 Horse and Pony Trailer set from 2024 (still sold), probably some tradeoff of dual moulding vs moving parts. Cheapest set with a Friends horse I can see recently would be 43233 Belle's Storytime Horse Carriage from last year at €16. (retired now) So I think a set with 1 minifig, 1 horse, would be €15-20 minimum. I was really hoping Dreamzzz would have more Castle stuff, as 40657 Dream Village seemed like a promising start, like a minifig variant of a set that reminds me of Elves, but they shifted to some cyber version of evil ancient greek/roman helmeted enemies + brains . Time will tell how long themes like Dreamzzz or Monkie Kid will get new sets, right now both those themes + Ninjago have quite a disappointing year when it comes to location sets tbh. -

TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Brickbuild horses only make sense due to it being 3-in-1, however , the parts aren't used in any other major way, 2 of the builds still have 2 horses, 1 even looks unchanged, so regular horses would've worked just fine without major loss of a build. Tbh, the main factor of lack of horses in recent decade, is that minidoll/princess stuff gets their own style of horses, and are also produced a lot more often. There used to be tons of small sets with 1-2 horses, now there was just 1 with the Blacksmith ,and 2 with the Lion Castle, but 0 in Town Square for some reason.... (and yes you can order 3 colors of horses via pick a brick at €6 each but the saddle piece looks to be out of production again after 2022/2023 + Mountain Fortress) -
[Poll] What is Your Favorite Castle Faction/Subtheme?
TeriXeri replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As far as an overal theme in a single wave, I think Royal Knights had one the best lineups of sets in 1 year, easily accessible figures/horses via , king+horse in a tiny set, king + 2 horse + 3 generic soldier carriage "battle pack. And for buildings, Skeleton surpise small tower, and the drawbridge set easily adding parts to the already large castle on a 48 wide baseplate. In Europe Royal Knights would probably be fighting 1993 factions, officially they got Dark Forest to fight in 1996 but only in North America. Can't really say for later sets as things like 2000 style of castle did not interest me in the slightest at the time, and I did not follow product released for like 15 years afterward. That said, I don't think Royal Knights will happen anytime soon, Lion Knights had their big castle, Black Knights likely to show up next, and with a new factions like Horse and Serpent Knights, and Krakens/Gryphons are probably still more likely too, I think the Batlord is probably more popular too. (not saying Royal Knights are bad, just that their trope of a "lion king" has been repeated numerous times afterwards, so it's not really special anymore) -

Actually quite large, especially when folded open, and the windmill variant of the build looks better then the one from 31120 tbh, especially as it can close up and be it's own little fort. Looks like some sections can be moved independantly and changed further , within the builds as well, via those clip hinges. As a 3-in-1 set, this is closer to the 80s Castle "system" , and architecturally as well, with those 45 degree corner panels etc. For a playset with limits , I think they did a great job with all 3 builds by leaving out larger tree or rockwork, in this case, more focus on wall sections. -

It looks like an upgraded rigging version from 31109 Pirate Ship , where minifigs can actually hang on it, in many aspects those sets are similar, even down to the current Euro price (Creator ship had price go up twice at the start) A side by side would be nice.

[OFFICIAL] NEW Pirate in 2025 Q3 Build a Minifigure selection
TeriXeri replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
It is, it was mainly an example of the orange/white/blue flags used during the era, by both West and East India companies. I'm not saying LEGO should really go into real history much however, but if Redcoats, Bluecoats, Armada etc exist, a Dutch faction would not be out of place, however, I'm not saying they should make them. In terms of LEGO Sets, 2026 would be good time to revisit the Armada, it would be 30 years since those 1996 sets, and the 3-in-1 Pirate ship is retiring, so something like an Armada Flagship could be nice to see. -

Yeah it wasn't a very peaceful time, even if some major events in the west indies like the capture of the silver fleet, or surrender of New Netherland/New Amsterdam did not have many casualties. While at the mainland of Europe, there were ongoing wars. -

This particular set is listed as LEGO exclusive, and the only other site that has a price, says it will release August 1st 2025 (The set released August 1 2024), so it's probably timed exclusive for a year in my country, so big sales won't happen yet (maybe at end-of year when it supposed to retire) -

Yeah Dreamzzz, Monkie Kid and Hidden Side try/tried to be too much at the same time, ending up in a lot of things all over the place. The last time an action theme had a superb wave of sets was the Ninjago dungeon wave, the mech was completely optional, and it had an amazing dungeon and skeleton dragon. Now even Ninjago went back to it's multicolored mech/dragon blend, while they look cool by themselves, as a theme it's still all over the place. -

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's why I would hope they add a front-bridge type of ramp, that resembles Wolfpack Tower (unless it gets it's own set), instead of carbon copy a baseplate ramp of Black Knight's Castle, as Black Knights were so much more then that 1 set, and ground level gates were part of the faction, even Black Knight's Castle, the gate is ground level, but also Black Monarch's and Knight's Stronghold. A real candidate for a big castle on top of a hill would be Fire Breathing Fortress, or even further down the line, something Royal Knight-ish, and then the very tall tower style of castle with Fright Knights. If they go that far down with Icons sets. -
Lego is definately working on both those points, LEGO started using a lot more doors, panels and brackets, 2025 has a lot of sets that can fit 2 figures now, with the Camper, Lifeguard Truck, Off-Road truck, and both vehicles in the new Tow Truck set. And some trucks like the Lifeguard Truck, or Camper also extend to 8 wide, without looking giant. Arctic truck is giant, but for that type of vehicle it's literally a mobile basecamp, and still, they chose to have a 6 wide cabin interior, nicely expanding to 8 wide+. As for overall proportions, seeing more 7 wides via sideways building is a nice development, I think 7 is just a complicated number when it comes to things like panels or windscreens. 8 wide speed champions are too big (for LEGO City) imo, even while the sets do look mostly good, and 8 wide gets a lot more possibilities in terms of parts.

I think LEGO did a great job on the new 71495 Mateo vs. Cyber Brain Mech set, yes it's a bit similar to 71455 Grimkeeper the Cage Monster but surprisingly cheaper and still has 100 more pieces. And even the stickers are quite cool for some sci-fi /computer build. As for 2026 sets, I assume Izzie would get something big, as set wise, 2025 she just has 2 small ones. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
TeriXeri replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nothing wrong with it, just a copy of Black Knight's Castle would use a very similar format. Eldorado remake did have modules to make a different layout, but some of the interior cave space was quite small. I'm not saying a castle should not be raised, even most of those bridge sets seen in castle all had some type of rock it was built on, including Wolfpack Tower, Royal Drawbridge, and the likes, used BURP to good effect at the time. More modern examples of raised sets that stand on a rock base, would be the €100 City prison island, or the most recent €200+ hogwarts Hall and Tower sets, and of course the larger sets have bigger caverns (and a castle doesn't need a great hall or giant tower on top) Since Black Knights had sets like Monarch's Castle and Knight's Stronghold as well, I rather see a wider set with more wall section modules instead of a very tall set, as I think a very tall tower castle should be saved for something like Fright Knights. It can still have rocks, that's why I suggested some blend of Black Knight and Wolfpack sets. -
I like how more vehicles use like 6 wide + sideways tiles , it's a decent solution compared to full 7 wide (for example a set like 60467 Tow Truck) , the extra brackets/plates/tiles at each side add width while keeping most the rest centered. 8+ wide still makes sense for those car transporter sets having to fit cars , which are wider then true 6 wide due to wheel arches or F1 wheels, but the wider you make wheelbase of cars, the wider those have to be as well. A set that doesn't have to fit cars like 60440 LEGO Delivery Truck , gets the extra width via plates+tiles as well, but still uses a 6 wide core.
