Hopefully some good build-a-minifig parts will come to NL.

Maybe it's just me , I wouldn't mind if they kept using some printed 2x3 shield tiles as inserts. Nexo Knights showed they could already make 3 different style of shield molds. The actual inserts were printed on transparent tiles, maybe printing on opaque tiles didn't turn out as nice as expected and they used stickers for those. But it did show they can print a lot of interesting crests on it, dragons , eagles, weapons, and all sorts of others, just leave off the scannable borders. Also could use those tiles with some smaller handles.

Face print isn't so bad, just something unexpected. I can understand if it's meant to be like a hired alien species that works for Blacktron I or bought their equipment with the cash from those bounties. Star Wars bounty hunters are all sorts of species as well. To me this still does not mean that all Blacktron I are suddenly blueish/pink aliens, but that's open to personal interpretation. I know LEGO used yellow smiley faces for Space figures up to 1991, 1992 Space Police 2 figures had communication equipment on their faceprint, and different colored heads came with 1994 Spyrius (robot heads), and 1997 UFO and 1998 Insectoids took colored heads even further.

I know, but overall, a very strange case if the final packaging still shows the renders by the time it's hitting the stores and not just this "early" single video.
-
I just won't go off renders and box arts as easily anymore, as the differences seem to be getting bigger for now. The white 2019 City Space Cockpits are just one of the other big examples out there, they look fine on their artwork, but not in reality.

Still doesn't explain the weird alien head printing , both the pattern (looks like a non-human with grey/blueish skin and darker dots, and then the weird pink area around the eyes and top. Blacktron II also never used the 3 triangles, and their faces weren't masked by black visors. If they wanted Blacktron II they'd put it on there (like they did on one of the workers in the Hidden Side bus set). Of course time will tell till more media reviews are out with better photos/videos.

That bounty hunter face color is really weird, even for LEGO. Some lightblue/greyish face with pink highlights on the eyes/hair, kind of organic and alien-like, nothing robot-like, but some unknown species. Also as noted before, a drastic change from the original rendered color scheme on the suit itself, and I don't think that made it better

I really don't get why they have so much problems with it now, when a character like Moltor or the Lava Scurrier looked amazingly vibrant, and that was yellow/orange on black. I don't know what color this Blacktron guy is supposed to be, but right now that looks like a grey/pink "alien" race.

I can somewhat understand LEGO getting rid of metal parts. First we had metal axle wheels, and even metal and wooden crane parts, way back in the day, eventually replaced by multiple methods of plastic on plastic, small pins, technic pins etc. Then 9v Rails weren't made anymore and replaced by remote control trains. Now LEGO trains are app controlled as well, so that's another part LEGO doesn't make anymore. Question is, what will happen to magnets in the near future as well. I can understand upsides and downsides of things, but I guess it's an advantage of LEGO to not have to use as many metal parts anymore. But overall it's too early to judge from 1 set so far. Personally, if they happen to stick with those wheels, I'd hope at least to see more frequent and more smaller train sets/expansions.

If I imagine a Minions figure in LEGO form, they might use a 2x2 round brick with 2 technic holes with those arms. Example from a set: Possibly another 2x2 round brick above the arm section with the face printed on it , but that might look too flat since the goggles do stick out, could be a build as well, but if they'd use another 2x2 with a technic hole, they'd get a hole in the back of their head as well. to add eyes on as goggles, which could fit on a to attach to a 2x2 round technic hole brick, also as singular attachment point for the 1-eyed minion. And then a printed 2x2 dome on top for the hair (like the many R2-D2 LEGO has made). Since not all minions have the same length, they can customize it easily with some extra 2x2 round plates. As for the legs, they are really tiny in comparison to the rest of the body, so maybe a bowl piece with some feet attachment might be used instead. I'm just thinking solutions without immediately using new parts.

Making LEGO Stickers last longer
TeriXeri replied to JekPorkchops's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I just recently started to apply stickers via the "wet" method, using some water and Dishwashing liquid , and dipping the LEGO part into it before applying the sticker. Now, I do not know if it affects longevity of the stickers, but it surely vastly improved my application quality, and less damage/airbubbles to the stickers themselves.- 10 replies

LEGO Creator 2019 - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review, however some "negative" nitpicks to me feel a bit too much comparing it to a Creator Expert set, expecting a 32x32 base and more detail/closed back. Can't compare a €80 set with the expectations of a €160-€190 modular (not assembly square). And even if the 2014 Bikeshop/Cafe was released today, it'd likely be a €90 set. That said, of course an Expert modular has more mass/parts for it's higher price points, as bigger sets often have better price/mass/parts ratios. Small sets tend to vary a lot, I do think the 2019 Outback Cabin is overpriced however at €35 retail price. (2019) 31098 - 305 parts €35 (2017)31067 - 356 parts - €25- 280 replies

Minifigures are still copyrighted by LEGO, so I don't think this is the right forum to post this. -
LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
City and Creator don't run parallel, and the Toy shop in the Donut opening set is like tiny compared to the rest of the set's budget. If 2019 shows anything about the Townhouse/Petstore/Cafe build, and it's alternate builds (Tall Bank building, or street with Tram/Hairdresser/Dentist), I feel Creator has been a lot more flexible. If the Donut Shop / Toyshop was like a smaller with just the 2 buildings for €30 or so, I might feel different about "another toy shop" While in the past, some alternate builds have been pretty bad and small, recent years there's been some amazing ones as well. -
They actually just released the €20/$30 60231 "Fire Chief's Response Truck set, at least in US that just launched in August, Europe had it a bit sooner. For me, that's a lot more interesting fire figure compared to this CMF version, and the other firefighter in that set has leg printing as well, but I do like the rest of the set as well. I know the CMF figure has unique hair/helm piece, printed arms and horn, but for me, not worth hunting down CMF for.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Just built the 2018 60204 Hospital set. I know it's not a 2019 set but it's still on shelves (unlike the 2017 Friends one) Certainly a nice all-in-one set when looking for medical themed building/helicopter and ambulance, great value when found at a good discount. I didn't have any medical themed sets/minifigs at all so for me it fits right in a 3-in-1 scaled town, and the Ambulance/Helicopter aren't bad imo. -
What do you think is going to happen to LEGO VW sets?
TeriXeri replied to Collector245's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The Beetle cars just stopped production a month ago, would be a shame to never get an official "minifig scale" one. I know 2018 3-in-1 Sunshine Surfer Van had 2 models inspired by a VW Surf Bus and Beetle-inspired Beach Buggy at least. But I'd love a minifig scale VW Golf inspired vehicle as well. (Golf GTI Speed Champions?) -
Both of those can work. To me a Bounty Hunter is mostly someone who works outside of any organization and more like a standalone operative. This one might just happened to have Blacktron 1 support, maybe just to get easier access to spaceships/armor/weapons. Especially in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi sense and not modern US Bail Bonds related practices. Maybe space has some remote areas with not-so unified Space Police, Sci-Fi genre tends to have some backwater planets with shady deals going on, to me that's the beauty of not needing a huge Canon backstory to the older Space themes.

Alternate builds remain one of my favorite types of MOC post, and this is no exception. Nice design, of course the Color Scheme isn't going to be bright like Creator from this theme but you managed to make it look great still, like it's nighttime, and moonlight which fits the set. I absolutely don't mind open-backed buildings myself (Creator 3-in-1 is among my favorite themes).

For me it doesn't show in the google play store because my phone is apparently not compatible. When I go to google play store via a browser it is there, but cannot install, which in my case, despite being a 2018 phone, I suspect it's the camera on that particular model not being so high-end.

LEGO Ideas - Central Perk Coffee of Friends
TeriXeri replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Licensed
LEGO can always find ways to add characters via some promo, I know Stranger Things wasn't an IDEAS set, but still got a SDCC figure packed seperately. (Not that I Personally support "exclusive" figs like that, I can understand the reasons true collectors would want some "rarer" items in circulation) -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Maybe some of those are smaller ones, like Ninjago had Spinjutsu spinner packs and Nexo Knights had "Ultimate" and Battlesuit sets. Small packs with ways to customize normal/ghost figures/accesoires would be amazing, I really liked the Ultimate Nexo Knight sets for the customization accesoires. What I want to see is some town/ghost people set(s), without just another repeat of the main chararacters/dog in every single set.
