Tbh, they can do a lot in terms of animals with medieval sets, for example a Joust set could have more focus on horses + possibly new color, a dedicated medieval farm set could work as well. Maybe since that Wolfpack torso got introduced , there could be some set with a Carriage to rob, that's another 1-2 possible horses.

Olive Green could be interesting, and I wonder what accent colors they will use, to not look too military (Space uses new orange and Police uses vibrant yellow to offset their white/black + darkblue/sandblue color schemes) Not that I expect City to use Adventurers/Western rifles or revolvers tho :) Maybe transparent Dark Blue windows could be nice, to be a little different, and on a color wheel, Olive and Darker Blue are complimentary colors. LEGO uses complimentary colors all the time (within LEGO's own color range, and some variation between sets of course) , especially this year, most sets have a combination of 2 or 3 of Grey/Black/White + 2-3 bright colors as accents, especially since most sets use uncolored windscreens this year (Medical sets are the only ones using light blue windows for 2024, but that matches the turqoise pretty well anyway and then Space of course with the new transparent black) Police : Dark Blue + Vibrant Yellow Fire : Red vehicles + Blue water tanks (no white ladders etc, or blue windscreens, so the blue water tanks stand out more) Reddish Orange + Sand Blue in Space (+bluish tinted windscreens) Dark Pink+ Turqoise in that Race Truck set Magenta + Lime in that Police Chase set Turqoise + Dark Orange containers in the Hideout.

That's nice to see City can do retro stuff again, since they aren't bound by LEGO City Adventures (TV Show / name characters), there's definately some cool things going on, with the Space sets, and now interesting sounding Jungle Adventure stuff. I mean, the safari truck existed before of course, and the 2015/2020 sea sets follow the 1996 Divers quite closely, the 2022 Crane was basicly a modern Town remake as well. Also recent that things like Space got "Classic" logos again (2022 Blue and red), (2024 orange and black) and things like Rocket Racer in Stuntz. There was a jungle explorer indiana jones/johnny thunder type of figure before with a City magazine, with a scorpion and magnifying glass in 2021 (kind of like the original small 1998 Johnny Thunder set) (2019 CMF Jungle Explorer was of course more like actual Johnny Thunder due to the head print)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Something mexican seems very possible , at least for some type of restaurant in one of the themes, Burgers, Pizza, Ice Cream and Hot Dogs seem more common, but LEGO does different food from time to time (bakery/pastry/waffle/juice/pancakes/slushy etc) If I would choose current pieces, a Taco would be something like this, as no half round plates exist, that tile with stud could still fit something inbetween as filler. + This piece exists too , could be used for something like a sliced (crunch) Wrap. 2022 Friends had a Taco Truck (41701: Street Food Market), 2023 had a City Taco Monster truck, and then multiple CMF in different series (Disney 100, LEGO Movie, normal) https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Mexico And 2023 Mexico Brand stores had this GWP: -
I like both 6 and 4 for cars, but I'm fine with the recent Speed Champion 6 wide scale for sports cars too. Variation is nice, as in real life, especially in Europe, there's a lot of variation still, less muscle cars then the US (some camaro or mustang once in a while, but nothing compared when I visited L.A.) , but I still see some quite large Dodge RAM or Ford F pickup trucks once in a while, much larger then something like a classic Mini, VW Up , Toyota Aygo, or Fiat 500 etc But even the traditional car makers of small cars are making larger variants now like the recent Fiat 600, or Mini Countryman. I think City will have a mix of 4 wide cars, 6 wide small wheel (bar sized pin), and 6 wide speed champion wheel (technic pin) cars for at least some time to come, and that's not including Vans/Jeeps/Off-roaders etc. Even just 2023/2024 , currently there are a lot of "normal" car sets (leaving out the formula 1, karts, or off-road/pickup/monster trucks, or 4+ ) available at the same time : 60389: Custom Car Garage (6 wide small wheel) 60395: Combo Race Pack (6 wide small wheel red car) 60396: Modified Race Cars (6 wide large wheel purple car) 60383: Electric Sports Car (6 wide small wheel) 60392: Police Bike Car Chase (4 wide small wheel) 60362: Car Wash (4 wide small wheel) 60406: Race Car and Car Carrier Truck (6 wides, truck with large wheel, car with small wheel) 60415: Police Car and Muscle Car Chase (6 wide large wheel) Can add Car Transporter with Sports Cars to that for summer set, quite a large piece count with nearly 1000 pieces I hope it comes with at least 3-4 cars for that price.

Yeah , and it can be changed in various other things with that empty flatbed on the back of the truck, like a pickup truck, or small older style dump truck. You can also carry the parts of the pizza shack from 60380: Downtown on the back as that's on a 8x8 base.

Yeah, I don't think most kids go look for MOC models + instructions and go order parts for it. The thing I can imagine current kids can do, are alternative builds, as that's basicly an evolution of back of box builds, and Rebrickable has a great trove of alt builds, or 2x / 3x combo models that don't require other parts. Personally I mainly look at MOC / Alt builds for inspiration, but I have not made someone else's moc or alt built to this date. In the past, LEGO offered a few combined models with instructions, like there was a red car from 3 technic models (I think 1991, 8024+ 8815 + 8820) , and Slizers had instructions for 2 combined larger mechs in 1999.

Yeah, I really don't think the recent City cars have been any worse then 6 wide speed champions (talking about 2020-2024 City Cars), most have been a bit smaller, but that's fine as some are meant to fit on the Car Transporter set for example. Some are simpler, some are more detailed, but that's even the case within the speed champion theme, with so many different styles of cars. 60415: Police Car and Muscle Car Chase are about 4 stud longer then most of the 2020-2023 City Cars, but I don't think they look crazy oversized. I don't have 8 wide Speed Champions to compare with in terms of length, the only 8 wide cars I tend to have are 3-in-1 sets. (car from 31108: Caravan Family Holiday can seat 4 minifigs but I might make a variant of the lighthouse alternate build from that set instead soon)

Yeah the white shield is made for the 2022 10311: Orchid set, and the smaller Daffodils set currently (40646: Daffodils was made in 2023-2023, but got re-released as 40747: Daffodils for 2024) -
I don't think the dark blue suit is bad for being in a smaller set, surely you end up with copies of the same head if you get more then 1 , but other then that, the suit is "suitable" for other figures as there are no clear rank chevrons or pips or anything that would indicate there would be only a few of , outside of the color, and only being in 1 set. I mean, even if you just get 1 of each set, you end up with multiple copies of the same figure. 3 figures from the space base, 2 get reused in the larger rover, 1 in the small rover, with the exact same head and suit colors. And there's no telling if any of those leader characters would be in the 2 other sets releasing later.

Built the 60415: Police Car and Muscle Car Chase set, and noticed they are bigger then the usual cars of previous few years, longer and larger wheels. (and don't really fit on the 2021 Car Transporter) The most interesting part is that they are the exact same size and wheelbase as the 2019 Speed Champions (before the switch to 8 wide in 2020) . I don't have 60396: Modified Race Cars (2023) yet but looks to use the same scale as Speed Champions as well as the wheelbase on the purple car is definately much longer then 4 stud, and also used those larger wheels. It makes the upcoming race car / transport even more interesting to look out to. I wonder if that set will use the Speed Champion scale or just a "normal" City scale , as both are used at the same time (the car in 60406: Race Car and Car Carrier Truck is pretty much regular City length with 4 stud wheelbase and regular wheels instead of SC wheels, the truck does use the larger wheels). Maybe City will have a mix of car sizes , which isn't bad, a couple 6-wide unlicensed Speed Champion cars styled a year would be nice, at the €20 price point for 2 cars especially, actually cheaper then actual pre 2020 Speed Champions were, and current Speed Champions got price bumped to €27 for a single car now (obviously larger, heavier, licensed and more detailed) I skipped collecting the 8 wide cars as I think they are too big (for City), but I understand why they are popular as there's obviously a lot more possible , and with licensed cars, a lot more realism and detail (and impressive alternative builds as well), overall they aren't bad, just get quite pricey now, from being €20 at first, then €25, and now €27 for single cars.

Found the police polybag (the little buggy with the wanted poster of the currently still missing 60416 set) , pretty decent, and I especially like the new neon torso design, which even has a reflective checkerboard print in silver at the back. Also comes with a small single stand piece to put poster on , not shown on the product image,

With additional images, and white background, looks better then the basic black box art for sure. I think it would look more interesting in video reviews too, as pictures just can't really capture all angles of a set that can be displayed in many ways like this, especially with hinged buildings that can double their width. -

I like this set a lot, the smaller scale is nice and I will certainly adapt my IDEAS Blacksmith into 2+ buildings. Red walls on the building with the tower definately has "guarded inn" vibes. Need to see more details / interior / backside , but I don't think this is disappointing. -
Yeah and previous module sets like the 2020 Ocean underwater base had modules with crane eyes, and in another set had this giant ship with a crane. Underwater base itself has a small crane as well but seems to be at most to dock the submarine module, + the submarine/module hybrid vehicle also comes with hooks, in a water environment it all makes sense, perhaps the modules get filled with air to become somewhat floaty and lighter weight. The crane in the space sets is a bit odd, the only place it makes sense for it's size is the 4+ set with the included boulders+attachment point, but such a giant crane to lift a pallet in the base is a bit odd, but maybe it originated as control tower (it has 4 seats with computers which is nice, and 8 large window parts), and then the crane function was later added on.

Same here, I'll probably use the ideas blacksmith to make a scaled down village building from it according to this set, as even next to the tall walls of Lion Knights it's enormous (blacksmith was still an amazing set tho, just very large next to official castles) -
As far as I know, boxes are identical all over Europe, and pretty much anywhere else, except US/CA + China, as there are only 3 versions of sets (V29 , V39 and V55), but there are a lot of languages on those international boxes for sure (set name on the side, warning small parts also on the side) V55 boxes (china) seem to be rarer, and mostly used for themes like Chinese New Years and Monkie Kid. V29 boxes also have a bunch of adresses saying LEGO is Imported in UK, Malaysia, and Hong Kong (For example LEGO Company Ltd. in UK) , so definately not Europe specific. 18+ sets do have pieces on the box everywhere , and some themes like DOTS or Classic do have it as well, but most other normal sets , something like City / Friends / Creator etc do not, when it's the international version, also does not say "Building Toy" at the front. LEGO's own webshop seems to use the box version with piece count for product pictures but that doesn't have to mean it's actually like that in that region.
-
Different versions, most sets have 2 versions , V29 (International), and V39 (US/Canada) , some have a V55 (Chinese) version as well. Not only the piece count is required in USA / Canada, it also has different languages on the box (English French Spanish), different paper sizes, and different warnings for shooters / small parts and such. I remember during 2020, seeing a picture of a 2019 city set with piece count sticker / warning sticker, added on the box, as likely due to covid / mexico factory was closed for a while , they shipped some international sets to the US/Canada to meet demand

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Dojo is very interesting, much moreso then the 2023 Tower, even while that one would fit well with 2022 sets, and the 2024 shrine (rocks with brown tree in all of them) -

And those houses and tower are exactly in the style of the lion knight's castle, so what's exactly the point? -
I'll probably still get the large rover at some point but will see what the lab looks like first, perhaps if it's the right size, might use parts of the lab on the rover instead, and use the rover module, and possible lab module as extension for either the Base or Space Station.
-
I'd say the value of that set is a bit of a flaw, sure it has the biggest terrain build, and it's a land vehicle that can carry a module (not sure where the big base crane would attach the hook tho, only a bar sized handle near the bottom) but the rover crane could've been different as it takes a lot of space, but can only really move small things , and not to the ground, pretty much only to move battery packs. Of course there's a lot of space to customize the vehicle to have something very different, it can be converted to at least a pretty big cargo vehicle if crane and module are removed , and the technic frame is pretty much just technic studded bricks, so length of the middle section can be changed as well, or a turntable could be added to have 2 sections able to steer like some classic space sets, or split in 2 4 wheelers , etc. etc (would be nice to see some alternate builds too) It's not a bad set, but a bit overshadowed by the good value of the 4+ set, the Spaceship, and 6 wheel rover set .
-
Recently built Burger Truck that was my first encounter with Paper bags. Then I built the Interstellar Spaceship, which had Plastic bags, but also 2 pages of instruction were somehow partly glued together (still readable after seperation as the small areas of page damage was only on the background blue) but first time I've seen something like that.

I meant not official more as it's not intended to be done , and can gradually damage the part. (but that does not mean I am against it, if people wish to do so) I did not mean official in the sense of keeping the torso in it's original state (as intended with the hand color it came out of the factory with) The main thing it has to do with skin tones, is that yellow hands is 1 skin tone, compared to 8 different hand colors when not wearing some "gloves" if you want hands to match the head. Of course someone might use a flesh tone to have nougat gloves on a yellow fig, that can certainly work. Friends / Minidolls have it tougher as most have bare hands (which cannot be swapped), and many have shorts or skirts, so with 8 skin tones it limits options to get matching figures, and also minidoll torsos have different shapes too (Girl , Adult Female, Boy , Adult Male) , and even if arms are long sleeves+gloves (like in the 2023 ski sets) many torsos still show skin tone at the neck. But again, people can do whatever they wish with their figures, there's a whole different discussion for that.
