  1. Friends Rover looks awesome and that side build is amazing too, makes 60432: Command Rover and Crane Loader looks even less of a deal, especially in USA where it's $85 and Friends rover is $50. Science lab looks like a good deal as well, love the idea that they put one of the small aliens in it's own spacesuit for inside, and it's a lot more friendly compared to the Andromedon suit from Xcom2.
  2. That's nice to see more Pirates in that game, I mean, they have some random pirate skeletons, villagers and such already (which use existing parts) in the original LEGO Fortnite Survivor mode, and they recently allowed building a 4th village as they are working on the Coast biome (added fishing piers and fishing stuff), so Pirates make a lot of sense to follow. As for a seperate Fortnite LEGO Pirates mode, that's even nicer to see more attention. Of course more sets will be very nice to see, but I don't think any major change will happen unless both Eldorado and 3-in-1 Pirate ships are retiring. However, I wouldn't even rule out a re-release of Barracuda Bay being out of the question now (IDEAS sets like Ship in Bottle or Saturn V did get re-released before)
  3. The position of the plate on the photo looks much better then the instructions gap, so in this case I would avoid the plate gap if I built this.
  4. Exception would be Majisto's , or the last Classic space GWP's, sure they aren't part of 90th anniversary, but majisto's was 12+, and Micro Rocket Launchpad 9+, and both using still quite nostalgia remake box arts.
  5. With that Ghost lamp shown in Survey, wolf pack showing up in MTS and Fortnite, hopefully it means a Wolfpack Tower is in development (or any of the major others, but that would be Black Knights, a second Lion Knights Castle, or Royal Knights which seem less likely right now) , I doubt they'd do a ghost figure suit in a GWP, and hopefully not via CMF for such a major part of classic castle.
  6. Not just you, seems to be a thing with many LEGO sets now, especially 1x1 studs and cheese slopes seem to be used a lot as just extra little filler. In case of that harry potter set, definately the water edge cheese slopes, the little mushroom, the cow horns in the wall, etc.
  7. Exactly my thoughts, not via GWP, not via CMF, but just normal set, and Wolfpack seems most likely right now, but Lion Knights, Black Knights and Royal Knights also had a ghost in at least 1 set, so they can reuse the piece longer then just a 1-off set.
  8. I like this one, especially because the color makes this different from recent and upcoming Sets/BDP entries. I know originally , Forestmen buildings were grey too, with black trees, but in modern times, this works, if only to set it apart from more Light Grey structures. I'd also like to see a Black Castle structure at some point for like Wolfpack / Black Knights.
  9. LEGO teasing a Ghost minifigure? Seems reasonable to think a 6075: Wolfpack Tower remake could be in the works, with Wolfpack/Wolf Pack showing up in Medieval Town Square + also in LEGO Fortnite.
  10. If unlimited parts : For an island of just sand, I'd probably choose Slopes Curved, and then the Hybrid version if it's like a larger chain of small islands. In combination with rocks and vegetation, either Slopes for a more rocky island, or Detailed Plates/Printed for a more jungly beach. As for actual builds from my own parts, then Barracuda Bay slope style, with sloped rocks.
  11. Maybe at some point, perhaps some hybrid factions with some nexo knight figures as they got suitable figure parts and colors and while that theme brought me back in 2016, the newness of it definately has worn off by now as that theme is 6-8 year old now. And many nexo figs used the same helmet as the 2024 City space (or 2023 Divers), so with normal visors they'll fit in. And then a few sets with different City space logos from 2019/2022/2024 etc.
  12. Oh I still like 4 wides, like the car and forklift in 60347: Grocery Store are pretty much modern versions but still faithful to Town scale, for the longest time I had a few custom cabrio cars back then, using those chassis pieces , which are still in use now, from way back 1987 until at least 2023 it has been in sets. 60400: Go-Karts and Race Drivers are nice modern variants of the older Town race cars as well, slightly longer, 4 studs between wheels instead of 3, but still look very classic, despite modern pieces as they are slightly wider due to side tiles.
  13. I build everything at least once (which also functions as a parts check), unless it's from the "Classic" theme, or a 3-in-1 set I got more then 1 copy of (then it goes to alternate build mode) A small set like the recent 42163: Heavy-Duty Bulldozer from Technic, a theme I usually don't collect, I built and then pretty much disambled it right away to mainly use the parts for a custom minifig compatible bulldozer I'm still working on. Some sets do have extra options as well, like 60385: Construction Digger has a digger bucket and a fork loader attachment, I'll probably just move the digger bucket to a bulldozer , because 60287: Tractor already has similar bucket function as well.
  14. Same here, and to be fair, most large sets were large because of baseplates, not parts, I had only 1 raised baseplate myself via the 2-baseplate Enchanted Island set, but many of the Space bases , Pirate Forts, and Castles of like the early 90s especially had raised or 2 baseplates or both. (That includes Aquazone, Western, Divers, Paradisa etc as well) I was surprised how large current City sets like 60365: Apartment Building can be, not to mention 60380: Downtown , and those are not AFOL sets by design/marketing/age rating. Of course, many current vehicles generally are larger too nowadays, with City doing some cars now in 2023/2024 that are slightly larger then the former 6 wide Speed Champions (up to 2019), but still not as huge as 8 wide speed champions (2020 onwards)
  15. Yeah , I think discussions for 2023 could definately still be here, but City topic isn't as active right now (probably until summer pictures), so discussing older sets in current 2024 topic is fine, both works for me. For me , I think the main factor that would make me prefer older topics is when a set is retired, like even some 2023 sets already are, I still gotta build 60398: Family House and Electric Car for example but it's an officially retired 2023 set.
  16. This, unless you want full collection of like Climber ninja, or full selection of cloth hooded ninja, there are indeed cheap sets available still. Polybag with 2 figures, then some €10 sets with even up to 4 figures this year, and then the small dragons, and the €15 dragon and €20 mechs with 2-3 figures. Some sets do look overpriced, but not everything. I don't really understand pricing on 71815: Kai's Source Dragon Battle or 71811: Arin's Ninja Off-Road Buggy Car however. Source dragon should be like €30 at most for 4+ tax, and the Buggy like €35 at most (but it seems sets with large rubber wheels always cost more (2022 Kai Raider/ Cole Buggy , 2023 Kai Mech Rider / Sora's Mech as well))
  17. I wanted to have a bank building for a long time, so maybe will convert it to a bank + office , as with the green, it kind of matches LEGO money already. I skipped the last bank robbery set, as even while it was discounted a lot, I prefer sets with buildings seperate from larger vehicles. 3-in-1 31097: Townhouse Pet Shop & Café from 2019 has some nice inspiration for a Bank interior in it's alternate build. Nice thing with that appartment building system is that you can make either a 4 story tall 8x16 tower, or a 2 story 32x8 wide variant fairly easily, or a fully enclosed 16x16 (which could be a 32x8 hinged closing to a 16x16 as well)
  18. Yeah that set is good, but definately not a $95 / €85 set at full price, with some color swaps it can also serve as expansions for a Police / Fire / Medical building (replace the bottom green rows on the floors with windows with like blue or red), or easily converted interior to whatever (Office / Bank / TV building or something) , Of course the actual 2022 Hospital, or 2023 Academy offered better sets if you wanted a Police / Medical build with figures etc, especially in Europe at €100/90 (so not far from €85), US prices were somewhat higher, especially the hospital at $130. It's still quite a large building, and I think overall a better value set compared to the very shallow interiors of 31141: Main Street which is €140. 60364: Street Skate Park wasn't small either.
  19. I don't hate stickers as much anymore, as long as they aren't giant transparent ones, especially when put on transparent pieces, but LEGO has gotten better at that, (especially 2024 , the Fire sets get a lot of prints, but I imagine those are large volume sales for younger kids) Friends theme still has a ton of stickers (sets with 20-30+ stickers even in 2024), but a lot of that is because they go for a certain style in that theme, lots of stickers for wall decorations, photographs, pillows, rugs, drawings, paintings etc unique to those sets. This still has about 20 stickers but it's not going to be a reason to skip this set for me. In the past I certainly have messed up stickers, applying them dry, but now using some soapy water, helps a lot with little corrections, and have not had them peel off either. Of course a set with as many prints as possible is always prefered.
  20. Seems like they have big plans for LEGO Fortnite still, game can be a bit boring now as traveling is slow (on a random map, biomes can be far apart) and vehicles aren't easy to control with currently no proper steering wheel, but looks like a lot of additions are planned (probably for the next big 23.00 update as that goes together with the new Battle Royale Season in 2nd week of March) I just think most of the game content updates will have to cooincide with the other game modes so they can't just patch constantly unless something is very broken for a hotfix patch, probably a smaller patch in about a week to update battle royale when the ninja turtle event ends, and then a big patch in 2 weeks 2 days when Rocket Racing and Battle Royale get new seasons. Steering wheel and Ziplines alone will likely make traveling a lot better, and more reason to build things inbetween areas instead of fairly bugged custom sky monorails and such that can be somewhat buggy at the moment. It certainly isn't Minecraft in terms of content (which also started out small, considering it's like 15 years old back in the "Cave Game" days) , the resource gathering feels a lot more like a Lite version of Valheim, with the different tiers of stone, metal and wood, without the sailing or bosses imo, but I think this will be updated for quite some time. Maybe eventually there will be teleports (rifts are part of fortnite for a long time), but I think just making vehicles steer, and zipline network would help short term a lot already, + traders, potion making, a lot more cooking and a lot more wildlife to populate the world, with different resources, and loot chests/llamas to find. Hopefully the 3 village / 15 villager limit gets increased as well.
  21. Yeah, to me, I'm not bothered by some of them, like the empty door/window frames in the tower, but I think that's done intentional, to allow fingers in for playing with minifigs. Surely LEGO would've added a few more window pieces already in the set if they meant it to be fully closed up, same goes for the appartment building and other recent sets, I think the open sides are meant to allow access, especially in those smaller 8x8 sections, as most of the 8x16 sections in those City sets have plenty of space from just the back to access with kid hands + this is a prison set, so more escape routes isn't a bad thing. As for lack of ladders/stairs to the top of the tower, I don't mind that either in a set like this, + there's a stair in the front to at least the helipad / mid-tower level. And an unprinted cap for a warden I think is fine too, as it seems with 2024 especially ,LEGO is moving away from pretty much every Police torso having a gold badge, now many torso have just that shield with star icon, and only the detective in the crime truck set has a silver badge. Will be interesting to see how they will make a new police station, either 2025 or 2026, currently there's the 2022 station + 2023 academy which both have a "chief"
  22. It's a cool set, I don't have it yet , or the old prison island, but I think it has a lot of potential, especially with 2 sets to make a full island (with some mods so it's just not plain mirrored) , but even just with 1 set, I think it's nice, but there's a lot of room to work with for interior as the washing room is quite empty.
  23. Yeah but there's no minifig transformers at the moment, and perhaps would look a bit weird anyway at that scale, even if just digital + it's also a skin that was battle pass exclusive, so not attainable anymore so probably played a small factor as well. Meanwhile, some other skins like even the recent Ninja Turtles, or Black Widow shop skins, get minifiig variants as they had minifig sets at one point in the past (altho skins can differ from physical figs), but then again, those are shop skins, optimus was not.
  24. Yeah I think any minifigs in LEGO fornite sets would be the main group of characters, and then probably only Fortnite specific . My guesses would be at least the common characters that have been part of fornite for a long time , and show up in-game as well (altho some printing or special moulds would be quite complex, but animal crossing shows it can be done, but perhaps simplified for some more complex heads like burger, fishstick or tomato guy.
