  1. i wouldn't be surprised if they had little value ... it's the only set I've seen heavily discounted in the UK. They were in Woolworths for 99p at one point.
  2. Do we know how / when these will be available to the general public ?
  3. very cool, I'm in :D Thanks
  4. Boots.com have a 3 for 2 deal on Toys at the moment. I just ordered 2 x RGS and 1 x AT-TE and when it arrives, I'll sell the spare RGS and that'll basically mean I get the AT-TE for free :D Free postage too not to mention the £11.40 in points to spend in Boots when my loyalty card is sorted out. Get in there quick, I can't imagine their stocks are huge. Note : a search on "Clone Wars Lego" won't bring up the RGS. You'll need to search for "Star Wars Lego" instead for that one :)
  5. no and no ;) they're talking about the 2009 sets, some of which we have seen pics of (Vader's TIE Advanced) and some we haven't.
  6. not really a surprise that most of the sets this year are Clone Wars themed, is it ?! Given that it's the main product from the franchise and all that. I'm not expert on other SW toy manufacturers, but surely TLG is not the only company not focusing on the OT this year ? In a way, I am pleased ... no way I could afford the Death Star set *and* a load of other OT sets!!!
  7. Those 3 "sample" videos are very cool ... especially the first one :D Nice comp ... can't imagine I'll have the time to enter though :(
  8. yes ... see extract from the magazine : Does it matter if they're not "factory new" ? Doesn't bother me in the slightest!
  9. "they" is gender specific in Danish-English is it? ;-) :-P
  10. haha :P ... thanks ... but my post only looks daft because it got merged into the thread already. The original thread I made was the first on the subject and I posted what I said above because I felt that the mods should be fair and merge them all into 1 thread, which they've now done. :)
  11. already posted days before this too ;) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...9837&st=165 The topic was merged into another already ...
  12. No ... it was a Comic Con Exclusive. You may be able to buy it via ebay / bricklink but that's about it and it won't be cheap either!
  13. Another Question (hope this hasn't been asked already) Why can't Brickmaster be made available outside of the USA ? I would gladly pay a similar price a year to receive a magazine and those exclusive sets. I don't believe it's ever been available in Europe or anywhere else non USA ... so why not ? What about doing a trial to see if it's successful ? Also, do UK Lego Brand Stores have "double stamp days" like the US ones do ? If not, why not ?
  14. Thanks for this great review .. you've just saved me £70 ;) I really don't want this set ... unless it's in a mega sale. I can't even see this changing post seeing the film, I just think this is an ugly set!
  15. I'm not being smug ... just enquiring what the entrance fee is going towards other than the prize and the postage. I think it's a fair question ... :)
  16. pfft ... hosting is dirt cheap these days ... so now it's $9 a ticket ? it wants to charge an extra $4 for P&P ... is that right ?
  17. 50 tickets at $5 each ... $250. Set price was $75 at the show, but obviously more on the after market ... still makes me wonder what will happen to the surplus. Charity ?
  18. Sorry if this has been posted in another thread (a search for Jetix didn't come up with anything). http://www.sfx.co.uk/page/sfx?entry=the_cl...s_invades_jetix I got the mag today and you basically get a shiny new Clone Trooper (no guns or accessories though) as a free gift in the magazine. It costs £3.99. The figures are from the Clone Wars minifig building event, I believe ...
  19. I got totally bored after the first rant about the Indiana Jones set. Sorry ...
  20. I've only ever made 1 video with lego stop motion ( ) but I would give the following advice :1. Fix the camera in 1 place ... use a tripod, if you can 2. Use a remote control for the camera (if you can) as this means you're not touching the camera and therefore not moving it 3. Set everything up in a place where you can control the natural light. It's best if you can cut out the natural light and instead use consistent artificial light 4. Practice first so you know what you want to achieve 5. Use a baseplate where you can and secure it in 1 place There are a number of websites which you'll find from a simple google search for "lego stop motion" that give much more detailed tips that this. Last of all, good luck :)
  21. so, you're ignoring the bit about the sentence, which, by the way, was clearly meant flippantly, was specific to Dovchenko ? There was no generalisation about any age group, so I fail to see how you can take offence at a statement that wasn't meant for you ? I don't believe anyone here is stupid enough to stereotype all teenagers like you think they've done ...
  22. you added some decals to the Jango figure, right ? They seem to be suffering a little. I remember buying this set from the discount tent after my first visit to Legoland Windsor. I wasn't sure whether to buy it, even in their sale ... but I was glad I did once I'd built it :)
  23. errr, I don't know exactly, but it's been a feature as long as I can remember and I joined ebay in 2001! It's pretty useful to gauge how much things will sell for on ebay and/or how much you should expect to pay for something. Mind you, you can still get freak auctions (see a recent sale of mine of a PC gamepad where the completed items search showed top price of £3 and someone offered me £12 as a Buy It Now price!!) and I wouldn't trust it as a gauge on mobile phone prices as that kind of product is very much subject to scams still, sadly.
  24. wouldn't it be better to do a search on completed items to ascertain prices acheived rather than auctions that are still currently active? The last time I did a search on the 6285 set for completed items I didn't see one sell for less than £50.
  25. Actually "lol" is short for "laughing out loud" (17 characters including the spaces). As you say, AFOL is short for "Adult Fan of Lego" (17 characters including the spaces) so both abbreviations are perfectly valid, saving the user the same about of time in typing ;) In reality, there is nothing wrong with abbreviations. There are probably the same number of abbreviations which are specific to Lego as there are "text speak" which I don't recognise. They have their place in the written word, especially on forums but they have to be used in the right way, i.e. not used for all words in a sentence. At the same time, there is nothing really wrong with the odd spelling mistake or grammatical error. The contents of this forum are not meant to be literary masterpieces ... it's a discussion board. It's a futile mission to make sure everyone writes in proper english with the exact grammar. Seems like I am not the only one pointing out the flaws here, based on experience of other forums. Sadly, it seems, whilst such opinions are read, it's going to make no difference.
