  1. having just watched the film (which, I confess, I don't really recall having ever watched in it's entirity before!) the Temple Escape set has pretty much everything you'd need to recreate the entire first sequence in the film ... apart from the Hovito. And the Marion figure is excellent compared to the character on film :-) I do wonder though, why out of the 4 sets we got, why 3 were from the Lost Ark and 1 from the Last Crusade ... seems like an odd combo to me. But man, do I want the other two sets like RIGHT NOW!!!
  2. why don't you : a) go to one and see b) phone one up and ask them (if you don't want to go on the off chance) :-|
  3. The Hovito in the pre-lim set pic has blue legs ... I wonder why ? Was it as simple as they didn't have any brown legs in stock ... do you think there is a demand for custom Hovito figs
  4. quite simply ... people would prefer them to be printed elements, because they will last longer than stickers. suggest you read the thread ;-) The sticker is related to some hieroglyphics as actually seen, albeit briefly, in the film.
  5. they're tucked into the manual regards the lack of Hovito ... do the parts exist to create one ?
  6. you could argue that it is genius marketing ... not for Lego, for DVD sales. Afterall, if a kid has heard of Indiana Jones but doesn't recognise the sets from the films, then they'll badger their parents to buy the DVDs ;) Hell, it worked on me, and I had no-one badgering me ... I just bought the box set for
  7. trust me, I've scoured the instructions and the box (front & back) for any sign of these stickers and there's nothing.
  8. unlikely that I will be going anywhere near TRU for a while ... so can't really help you ... 4 separate strips. I really think they're meant to go above the large panels on the 1 x 8 bricks. It's dark translucent blue.
  9. i just noticed another inconsistency between box art and the actual set ... on the box, the biplan has white wing supports (they're just plane windows without glass in them) and yet the set they are dark grey (or is it bley ... can never tell the difference without careful study). Add to that ... the outer of the engine at the front is white on the box and black in the set. We don't normally have this many inconsistencies do we ?
  10. There's no inside ... tis brick built Yes ... there are quite a few gold elements in the Ark and the surround of the SW heiroglyphics are gold too. :-)
  11. Ahhh ... thanks ... now I want to go out and buy the Trilogy on DVD! It's cheap too ... under
  12. 10 in all ... 5 green, 5 red
  13. sneaky! All pics added ... if you want any others, please ask and I will try to oblige.
  14. Marion's other face!
  15. it's 1 moulded piece ... i'll try again just now ...
  16. yes it is ... I never noticed until I just checked! :-$ Will post a pic of the alternate face when my camera battery is charged :) They sit on a pivoting plate behind the Star Wars heiroglyphics. You press down on a brick at the back and the plate drops and they fall out from underneath. well, yes ... that was where I guessed they were meant to go ... but really ... there is no mention of this in the instructions!
  17. My 2nd review (what a veteran) ... again, found this set via a shop assistant, in my local TRU (Portsmouth, UK) this evening. Comes in at 44.99, which, is pretty steep, but, you get quite a bit for your money. Front of the Box : Back of the Box : Back of the Box Closeup : Contents : It was a nice surprise to get numbered bags ... not had a large set with numbered bags for quite a while, at least in none of the sets I've bought recently! Didn't take a close up of the stickers, but I was quite disappointed that the curved pieces had stickers ... if they could print the ATT curved pieces, why not these? Minifigs : Oh ... and there's a nice backprint on the Pilot figure : Now, the build was pretty good ... you build the plane first (after the minifigures). Quite an interesting build in a way, becayse for a while you think the back is the front ... and then you realise, heh! Now ... I've not seen the film in a while, but I don't recall a guy flying a plane with a fishing rod ... don't flame me if this is what happens, see earlier point regards not seeing the film in ages!! :-P After that, you build the temple in stages, starting with the entrance first, and then the holey floor section with the spears. These spears are just loosely placed into technic holed bricks. Quite easy to make em flick out but they can go anywhere! hehe Entrance : Holey Floor & Spears : These two parts are hinged and on an angle to each other and the gap makes for a handy bottomless pit, complete with pole for Indy to swing over with his whip. After that, you create the door and the ratchet mechanism to keep it raised. After that, you add the runners for the ball and the swinging knives trap. Swords Trap - Before : After : Finally, you build the statue that holds the efigy. Nice bit of construction here, especially the way that everything falls over once the efigy is removed. Do be careful when putting the curved bits on though ... it appears one of the edges on mine has slightly bent when putting it on ... nowt noticable though. Temple : Preparing to steal : Run!! You can see that the temple has toppled and debris has fallen all around ... And then, as he goes through the door, the door falls (he gets his hat) and then the rock ball starts a rolling! Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!! The stickers were a pain though ... there's no room for a border around the sticker here! Beware!! After all that is done, you join all the pieces together and it makes more a really good playset. Plenty of opportunity for recreating scenes here! Idol Closeup : Total Set : Spares : Yet more spare stickers??! (sorry, i've already put the spares in my box of bits!) Overall, 8 out of 10 ... lots of play value and a pretty nice build. Too many stickers though ... and defo poor arms for the skeletons!
  18. my camera battery just died so it's recharging! I'll do the review and add pics later ...
  19. I'm not paying ebay prices ... happy to wait till I find them in a shop :) I got my 7623 at TRU ... I asked if they had any other sets as 7621 was the only one out on the shelves and a guy went into the back and found it for me :) Just doing them now ...
  20. My first set review on here, so please bare with me! I found this set next to the Duplo in TRU in Portsmouth (UK) and couldn't resist! Price was 17.99, which I kinda expected given the size of the box (same as AT-ST). Front of the Box : Back of the Box : Contents of the Box : Look at all them stickers!!! :'-( Minifigures : Quite an interesting build ... quite liked the big statues although getting those stickers in the right place on the wedge was somewhat tricky. I found that the little red ball on the end of one of the pins that keep these statues upright falls of with some ease ... probs just a slightly mis formed piece I guess?! Temple : There's quite a bit of play value in this set ... there's a trough at the top which contains all of the snakes and when Indy gets near the treasure, they can be released, showering everyone with snakes. hehe Before the Madness : You can also knock over the statues, which in turn, knock down the walls, which on one side will reveal a skeleton! All hell breaks loose : Oh ... and here's the star wars link : And here are the spares ... oddly, there are spare stickers!? I searched the instruction booklet several times trying to find where these went, but to no avail! Spares : Noticed a few inconsistencies between the box and the set too, such as different coloured 1x1 round bricks at the top of the temple - box shows dark red, set delivers dark blue. Overall, I'd give this 7 out of 10 ... quite how they managed to get Indy to stay like he is on the box with that whip, I'll never know. It just goes back to being coiled in an instant!!
  21. glad I'm not the only one! Now ... to find the other two sets!
  22. both of those sets are heavy on the stickers ... although, oddly, I had stickers left over?!?
