  1. I guess this warrants it's own thread ... sorry if it doesn't. I did a search, but couldn't see anything else on it. I bought this today from the Lego Shop in Brighton ... price, £8.74. The best bit ?! The figures are absolutely normal and they attach to the magnet bricks via studs. The figures are NOT glued in any way. The lightsaber hilts are the powder chrome and so it the bowcaster for Chewie. Awesome. The magnet brick is basically a 2 x 4 brick size with modified plate 3 x 2 with a hole attached (see pic below). And, for reference, this is what the magnet brick is like from the back My only gripe is the blister pack packaging which you have to semi destroy to get to them. I VERY MUCH hope we get more of these kind of magnet sets. It could be a great way to get rare figs.
  2. *ahem* as cleared up over a week ago ;)
  3. haha! All of my Lego is displayed courtesy of the Ikea Billy range ;) Sadly, I have now run out of room, so I am having to be selective. The duplicate Tie's and the pod-racer related sets were the first to go. Next on the hit list when new sets come out will have to be the Naboo stuff I'm afraid! :( I wish I had room to display it all ...
  4. good initiative ... I hope the comments actually get to people that can change things. I added my major gripe about USA exclusives!
  5. he means, as far as he knows (or is willing to say), only the USA (does that include Canada!? Who knows ... ) will get this in the same deal as the gold C3POs. So, everyone else in the rest of the world, including Europe will miss out. The only exception is the deal in Sweden which originally alerted us to this fig.
  6. From Steve the Lego Rep at FBTB So, which is right, 85,000 worldwide or 10,000 USA only?!
  7. I just noticed that the latest 3 Star Wars Bag Charms (Landspeeder, Jedi Starfighter, Slave 1) are half price on S@H at the moment. £2.95 each. *orders*
  8. the Lego Rep that I asked before has just replied again after I asked them to check ... I've just asked around in our office and I can confirm that LEGO set is not official so, yes, it's a fake. We'll certainly investigate further to prevent other customers to think we sell or make promotions with individual licensed minifigures. LOL oh dear ... seems like I've got myself an idiot! I think I'll just give up on this one ... if it is another exclusive to certain geographies then I will just forget it ... I'm not gonna spend mega bucks to get one ... same as with the golden C3P0 figure.
  9. perhaps you are too quick to dismiss that point ... here's what I got back from a Lego Rep who I asked about UK availability of this promo figure : The Darth Vader's TIE (8017) includes a Darth Vader minifigure. However, it is not possible that customers who pre-ordered this item would receive an additional minifigure, as the LEGO Group does not have the rights to sell or distribute figures seperately. Our license partners, LucasArts have already allowed another toy manufacturer to produce Star Wars figurines, and so we can only sell them within a set. We do currently have set 8017 in stock, and you are more than welcome to order it, but you will not receive an extra minifigure. I've highlighed the relevant bit in bold. You'll note is says "sell or distribute" which to me means that they can't even give them away free if it's just a fig on it's own. Which this is ...
  10. You can get the Big Rig set in Tesco or Argos ya know ;) Maybe not online, but my local Tesco has some on the shelf at least
  11. Those prices are from Lonely Planet and they're not the RRPs http://www.forbiddenplanet.com/search/Slego
  12. The Woolies I went to had mostly Mega Bloks in the place where the Lego shoulda been :(
  13. I'm in ...
  14. it's online now http://direct.tesco.com/promo/?id=S00007877 brill! I'd been waiting for them to knock 25% off these sets. 1 Republic tank ordered :D i note it seems that all the Star Wars Lego is discounted, whether it's in the Clone Wars or not ...
  15. interesting use of Clone Wars packaging when none of those characters are in the Clone Wars, eh?!
  16. i think this is as a result of the 25% off sale on all Star Wars toys as it's only Star Wars Lego that is reduced ... all other Lego is full price. According to the leaflet in the paper, it says the offer is valid until 28th Oct, so if you wanna make he most of this deal, don't delay! (no, I do not work for Argos :P)
  17. Not usually ... for some unknown reason, this set was £10 more expensive than any other retailer who stocked it!
  18. they've now chopped 50% off the price of the Droid Gunship to a much more reasonable £17.49 :D
  19. they're £10 in UK TRUs :(
  20. S@H is £6.99 start price and they charge for shipping. Voucher codes in the UK seem few and far between, so I think you might be waiting a while.
  21. Amazon have them for £5.98 and they do free shipping on anything over £5 ... I think that's about as good as you're going to get ?!
  22. i got the helicopter set today ... and I will be popping into Woolies / ELC each day for the next 11 days :) In terms of availability, I noticed that in Woolies, they had 2 large boxes of the sets. The box had "Sat" written on it in pen, so I guess they have all 12 sets in the back ready and waiting. I'm looking forward to getting them all :D
  23. so buy the paper, collect 7 vouchers and send off a cheque for £6.50 to the address to be provided and they will mail you the whole 12 sets before Christmas! :P
  24. umm ... aren't you describing the Final Duel I and II sets ?
  25. i saw this a few days ago when I was researching how I could get a Brickmaster subscription in the UK. Fortunately, I got an old school friend who now lives in the US to set up a subscription for me and he ordered this too. I got the first Brickmaster subscription mag today ... shame it came with a Bionicle model. It'll be on ebay soon.
