well, my copy of the book came today ... I like it. Very good stuff. The minifig is v cool and the info in the book is pretty good. Great photos (well done Jeremy). It's up to date with everything released to date and even includes the next Brickmaster set (Mini RGS)! I particularly liked the interview at the back, but I won't spoil that for those that haven't got the book yet. Overall, for just over £10 (the Amazon pre-order price), this is a bargain.

why not buy the set at retail and sell on the figs ? -
I'm guessing from the pic and the auction description that this is the Chrome C3P0 from this pen ... it looks AWFUL! The legs are one piece ... I hope no-one falls for this. Auction Link ... £39.99!!!

I've been asking myself some questions recently, mostly because I am almost out of display space again. That question was, "if I had the room, would I display ALL of the sets I had, including those in storage?". The answer to that was no, for certain sets. Those sets are below ... anyone interested ? PM me with sensible offers please. 7144 - Slave 1 (original). Open Boxed (in Very Good condition), 100% complete, instructions 7184 - MTT (original). 100% Complete, No Box, No Instructions (these are available online) 7151 - Sith Infiltrator (original). 100% Complete, instructions, No Box 7141 - Naboo Starfighter (original). 100% complete, instructions, No Box 4896 - Roaring Roadsters. 100% Complete, Open Boxed, Instructions Postage will be made in sturdy packaging using a service of your choosing (i.e. first class, 2nd class, recorded etc). Buyer pays postage costs. No packing costs as I will re-use packaging from other transactions (my loft is FULL of jiffy bags, boxes etc!). All sets come from a pet free and smoke free home. All have been on display and then taken to bits and placed in storage in air tight bags. I can provide pics if you want. I would prefer to post to the UK, but other destinations can be negotiated.

Boots and Boots.com have 3 for 2 on toys at the moment, including Lego. They don't have all of the sets from the current line, but quite a few so you can make the most of it. If you have an Advantage Card then you can also enter code TLAJ46 during the order process and that will gain you an extra 500 points, which is worth £5, if your total order is over £50. Delivery is free on orders over £45. I've ordered a Temple Of Doom set and 2 Y-Wings (one to sell later). The points I earnt will be put towards buying the Indy Venice Chase set, I suspect :D

there's a post above that CONFIRMS you can do it via the post ... you need to get 5 different vouchers from the paper and then send them off with a cheque for £5.99 to an address to be provided later.

Cool deal ... similar the one they had a while back with various City / Creator sets. Well done Lego on making these sets available in this way. A reminder has been set in my phone!

San Diego Comic Con 2009 Brickmaster Set Review
Big Pete replied to Big Pete's topic in LEGO Star Wars
because I was technically reviewing the Drophip only and I bought the parts for it, which were not exactly expensive. I will edit it! -

San Diego Comic Con 2009 Brickmaster Set Review
Big Pete replied to Big Pete's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've edited the link to the AT-OT to be a picture of my MOC ... hope that helps! -
yes it does, although not if you did some hardcore swooshing, I would imagine!

No pictures of the box or anything here, because I couldn't bring myself to pay for this set on ebay! So, I ordered the parts via Bricklink for the Dropship and combined it with the AT-TE I received through an existing Brickmaster subscription. Name: San Diego Comic Con 2009 Brickmaster Exclusive : Republic Dropship & AT-TE Mini Theme: Star Wars Minis Year: 2009 Pieces: errr ? Minifigs: None Price: $50 (if you were lucky enough to "win" the chance to buy one!) First up, all the parts laid out in a nice and orderly fashion ... how organised! A couple of random parts in the build ... And here's the final build Dropship : And here's the Dropship carrying the AT-TE So there you have it. I'm glad I spent the time getting the instructions and working out the parts list. After a few Bricklink orders, I had all the bits I needed and I was away. It's a pretty good model once built and looks good as a display model. It even inspired me to make a mini AT-OT companion model to go with it, which you can see if you click the picture below : The Ratings : Playability/Swooshability : 9/10 (pretty swooshable, but the "dismount" is a bit fiddly and sometimes leaves bits of the dropship behind) Design : 8/10 (Quite an accurate depiction, although as I said, bits get left behind on "dismount") Price : 7/10 (if you buy just the parts or have them spare already) or 2/10 (if you buy the actual Brickmaster set!) Overall : 8/10 (A few tiny flaws, but pretty good overall)

Having obtained the Mini AT-TE via a Brickmaster subscription and getting the instructions for the SDCC 2009 Brickmaster Dropship, I decided to build an AT-OT mini too to make a nice triple mini model set. So, here's the only real MOC of the trio, the AT-OT ... Here's the AT-OT from various angles ... And here's the back with the ramp down ... and here's the fully deployed ramp ... Here are the troops flying into action on the battlefield ... And here's the AT-OT being carried by the Brickmaster Dropship ... Further photos can be found in the Flickr stream I hope you like ?

Oooh, it's back (in the UK at least)! I ordered 2 today (plus a Home One set) in case it disappears again!

it's disappeared from Lego S@H worldwide ... I'm hoping it's just an issue with availability. I already have 1 but I wanted another couple ...

8029 Mini Snowspeeder (Unreleased Set) Review
Big Pete replied to Big Pete's topic in LEGO Star Wars
there is a slight difference is size & scale though? ;) -
Sorry, I couldn't see how to make this a poll! Name: Mini Snowspeeder Theme: Star Wars Minis Year: 2008 Pieces: 66 Minifigs: None Price: Unknown, as it was never officially released (to my knowledge!) For some reason, I recently decided to try and make this set from the Instructions which you can get from Lego.com and after a couple of Bricklink orders, I was able to do so. Please find my review below ... First up, given that there isn't a "packshot" for this set (as it's unreleased), is all the parts laid out (minus the spares, I didn't think it necessary to buy the spares!!) : Not a bad selection, all in all. Nothing particularly rare either, making this set perfectly buildable for anyone with a few spare parts. The first page of the instructions builds the main body of the snowspeeder : With this scale, I think they achieved the shape of the cockpit pretty well. It may have looked better if they'd had the 2 x 1 cheese slopes at the time of production (I *think* they've only come along pretty recently?!). Next up, you build the wings : Yet more use of the ever brilliant cheese slopes to create the shape here. I'm not sure why we need the Orange round plates on the front ... maybe for a bit of colour? But I guess you can just take those off if you want to. In order to create the angle of the wings, there are a couple of plates added underneath each one. These stop the wings from becoming too angled. And here's the final model ... not a bad looking set all in all, although there's just something, that I can't put my finger on, that's not quite right, towards the back?! Maybe I've just got a distorted view based on the minifigure scale sets we've had in the past?! The Ratings : Playability/Swooshability : 10/10 (very swooshable indeed) Design : 9/10 (as I said, there's just something that's not quite right ... and could use the 2 x 1 slopes nowadays) Price : 8/10 (as you can't buy this officially and the re-sellers on Bricklink are charging too much for the parts, although you can, like me, just buy the parts yourself) Overall : 9/10 (A few flaws, but pretty good overall) If you have the parts or have the patience to go through the Bricklink inventory to get the bits you need then I would say go for it. nb : this is quite possibly my first "proper" review for Star Wars, so I hope it's ok :)

Part 1 Part 2 the parts I need to make this are on order ... I had about 50% already.

If someone here has the San Diego Comic Con 2009 Brickmaster set (i.e. AT-TE and Dropship) can they, by any chance, post the instructions for download? I'd really like to build the Dropship to go along with the AT-TE that I got via my normal Brickmaster subscription. Much appreciated :) ignore this, I found them elsewhere :)

Just browsing Play.com for cheap Lego and saw these ... anyone know any more info ? Headlamp Torch Torch Mini Torch Dynamo Torch Lantern Brick Light Not sure I'd buy any of these ... they look a bit gimmicky ... a bit like the Lego cameras etc
