  1. I can see why Lego made that new double sided red clutch gear.. That part was a no brainer.. I can't tell you how many e-mails I got over the years from people telling me that they couldn't get their gearboxes to work in a model of mine that they were building and the first thing I would ask is if the gears were in backwards and everytime except for one, that was the case.. The other time it turned out to be a deformed gear with 2 teeth molded together.. I also recently talked to some adults at Brickmagic in North Carolina and the new red gear discussion came up and I was surprised at how many people admitted to building models with the clutch gears backwards and then had to tear a whole modle apart to flip it around..
  2. Here are some new drive suspensions that I posted on facebook a few months ago..
  3. Very Nice... Yellow and Black always seem to go together well.. The Enzo wheel covers look pretty cool as well.. Those yellow seats came out much better than I had anticipated..! When I sent you those pics with the DBG parts, I was a bit skeptical... I think I am going to place an order for some orange parts and do the seats in my Black & Orange model like that...
  4. It should be available very soon in the states.. According to the new Lego Catalog, the 2nd half sets will be available in September..
  5. I always assumed that the evolution of color changing(and part design) over the years was to make building the models from instructions easier for kids(and some adults)
  6. Here are the different colored hats that I can get.. Like I said, the embroidery is going to have to be black becauase that is the style that I already have prepaid for..
  7. Vistaprint's customer review for hats isn't very good at 2.7 out of 5 and they only offer 5 colors which to me seem uninteresting.. I'll stick with what has already worked well for me...
  8. I am not doing anything to get rich from.. I am only offering to get the hats for people for exacty what it will cost me... I honestly don't even have to go out of my way to do anything for any of you, I am only offering this because people seemed interseted in getting some Technic related clothing.. If I wanted to make money, I would have started my own thread years ago when I started creating my own custom stuff... Your source doesn't seem much cheaper than where I already have everything established at.. Depending on the discount, I might be able to get the hats at under $16 each...
  9. No. Basically you just submit a picture that you would like embroidered and pay a fee(I think is was like $10) and then you can use that same embroidery as much as you want.. Like right now I already have the hat design saved, so I can just go in and order as many as I want of that same item...
  10. A few years ago I found a seller selling them on Amazon VERY cheap(Like $25 each I think? Eric will remember) At that time, it was the only set that ever had these tires in it.. Unfortunately it only had 2 of them..
  11. That is a great looking model..!
  12. Is everyone cool with the orange with black embroidery..? In order to change the embroidery color, I have to submit a new picture of the colored font which will require a new fee... And of the limited colors they have for hats, I think the orange looks the best, plus orange is kind of the Technic signature color.. Lego's side panels(showing functiions) on their boxes are usually Orange... I've shipped A LOT of items your way in the past.. I'll wait until next week and see how many more people would like to get a hat and then order them probably Wednesday... Everyone that wants one, just shoot me a message with your email..
  13. I think the hats were like $20(USD) It will probably cost between $12 and $15 to ship it over your way... They are embroidered and adjustable.. The quaility is very good... They usually take a week to get after I place the order.. I already paid their fee for the black TECHNIC embroidery logo, so I can now order as many as I want without having to pay it again..
  14. Yeah, I've parted out about 40 Nitro Muscle sets and I know it has 2 of the Light Bluish Gray ones... Then again, Maybe a disgruntled employee in the packaging department at Lego threw 6 red ones in the box just to cause confusion..
  15. It's pretty awesome that someone started a thread about this.. I wanted to start one before, but I didn't know how much interest it would have.. These are some shirts that I have done over the last couple years... Top picture is the back and bottom is the front.. Also if anyone is interested in a Technic hat(like the one meatman posted above), let me know.. Maybe if we can get like 10 or more people to go in, I can order a bunch and ship them out... That is me... I use Zazzle... They always run specials for discounts..
  16. If these guys can make a couple bucks off of this modified design, then more power to them... I found out recently that there are people in China selling all of my instructions including the ones I have for free...
  17. Very beautiful model..! You did an excellent job on it..!
  18. Speaking of attention to detail, I am a bit surprised that they not only did the designer video with the steering wheel upside down, but also did all of the HD press release photos like that as well...
  19. My webmaster was on holiday over the weekend and couldn't get anything setup for me.. The instructions should be up tomorrow...
  20. I know where you're coming from, but very very few people are going to pay that kind of money for a commissioned piece.. If that were the case, this model would have cost my buyer several $1,000's of dollars.. I think I charged him $800 for everything including the design and shipping.. Ok, I see.. Should work out much better for you that way..
  21. As long as my webmaster isn't too busy, they should be up this weekend.. Maybe even tomorrow.. As far as what the cost will be, even though Eric has put in a ridiculous amount of time into doing 3 versions, we are still going to keep the cost low... $12 for all 3 downloads..
  22. Did you ask for some money up front first..? I've had people over the years want me to build things for them after I spent time gatherng up parts and completeing it, I would never hear from them again... Also, 10 cents a piece for a MOC is way too low IMO... 10 cents a piece doesn't factor in your time spent.. 25 cents to 30 cents per peice is much more realistic for a commisioned model..
  23. I am not a big fan of teaser threads... Especially if the final model doesn't live up to the hype.. And I know someone else brought this up before, but I also don't like the way the contest rules work here with thread use mainly because it is easy to start a thread on day one and have it bumped up to 6 or 7 pages by the time the contest ends and your model gets more recognition because it is more memorable even though other models may be better designed and more deserving, but their threads were not created until closer to the deadline.. I don't think any contest threads should be created until an actual model is at least designed or well into the design.. In the last contest there were really well designed models that barely got any votes because their designer didn't "promote" them the same way that other people "promoted" theirs..
