  1. Terrible? The "problem" is that the "real" X-Wings Base Color might be white, but its not shiny out of the factory. Its completely covered in dirt and everything and looks more grey than white. So Lego can decide wether they want to go for a more accurate or more realistic design and decided for the latter, which I think is the right choice. Lego White is just way too bright to mimic the used/serious/real look of the ship and Star Wars Ships in general (same story with the wing/panel color of the First Order SF Tie Fighter). Compare it to the Luggabeast, they went with a more accurate blue but it feels completely wrong, comical and way too bright because the "real" Luggabeast is heavily covered in dirt and mud. Getting a mix/used look of different colors in Lego is pretty hard when you are not using prints or stickers.
  2. Maybe thats already a spoiler for Rogue One, I mean why else would they put the front of the Slave 1 or that ship class in the RO icon?? If it is, you heard it here first people
  3. No information on how expensive the X-Wing is going to be? Besides, I would treat those prices still a bit with care, since we still dont know how many parts its going to be for the sets. But I do agree that just by the looks of it its going to be a good bit overpriced.
  4. After seeing the video I am pretty certain now that I will not(!) get the Clone Turbo Tank. With a retail price of 130 dollars (meaning 130 Euros of course ) that is not nearly enough. It is a lot more expensive than the last two Turbo Tanks but a lot smaller? What are they doing? The suspension looks to be decent, but everything else is a big letdown. It is as inaccurate and even more stubby than the first versions, extremely hollow and ugly from the inside (+Sniper/Scout-Tower looks pathetic). Minifigs are uninteresting to me, but that said I just dont get why theres another Gree in the set since we got one already with the AT-AP. So yeah, that set is now gone from my wanted list, now only the Resistance X-Wing remaining and maaaaybe the TIE Advanced/A-Wing. Wow, you think? I really like its looks even though i am not a fan of the A-Wing in general. Interesting how much taste can differ I guess
  5. Hm alright, seems my memory isnt that good anymore Still (and I realize its hard for Lego to get those dirty/used looks right without using prints or stickers), the Blue is waaaay too bright, makes it look too comical
  6. Well, not the best possible picture but given the circumstances I´ll take it! The TIE Advanced vs. A Wing just got a lot more interesting for me and that is actually not because of the TIE (no clear front view of the ship anyway) but because of the A-Wing. I am definitely not a fan of the simple design of the A-Wing but this one looks great, the shapes, the design and especially the Colourization I reeeeally like (awesome tan and green!) Does look like a TON of stickers though, so I have to wait and see if this one really might be something to consider. Unfortunately we dont have a really good view on the Clone Turbo Tank (sides and front), but it definitely looks too small. The massive size of it is one of the great design properties but I fear it will look a bit stupid next to the 2014 AT-AP, that has a very good size for its design. Also weird choice of wheel parts, the last Clone Wars Version had the most accurate ones in my opinion! What else? The Resistance X-Wing looks fantastic! Absolute must buy as it seems since the recolour looks so much better than Poe´s personal X-Wing in my opinion. Also a great minifig line-up, one more standard X-Wing Pilot or Stormtrooper and it would have been perfect. Only thing that is weird to me is that the Luggabeast is frigging BLUE? What in the world, wasnt it totally grey? I mean the build looks pretty good but that Blue is a total set killer for me. Why have they done that?
  7. Ok heres to why i desperately hope that those Adventures Sets will sell horribly to the point it was a big mistake by Lego: - Its lazy as hell. Whats infinitely more easier than trying to get existent models/designs right with which people could maybe not satisfied with? You just make your own. - Its even more greedy than usual. Its literally not "Star Wars" but simple fanfictional toy designs, yet Lego still slaps the Star Wars Theme onto the box to be able to sell it for the premium license prices. - It takes away precious recources of budget, designers work, storage etc., that could be used for proper real Star Wars Sets. God knows there are literally endless Sets that still could be done or remade. And I wouldnt even care what it would be, anything would be than the fanficitonal stuff.
  8. Seriously? Making pictures from anything else is alright but Star Wars... oh noo, have to keep this stupid and pointless secrecy alive. Almost to make the SW Stuff look more premium and important, so they can sell it more expensive in the end?!
  9. How cool of a Set Reys AT-AT Bungalow could have been Well, still have to wait what exactly we get for the Jakku Set, but I fear it could go in the same direction as Takodana in terms of bad price/part ratio and just a very small and segmented build.
  10. I hardly doubt they would simply re-release it. A new model, maybe a bit smaller would be highly more likely in my opinion. But yeah, anything that hurts the resellers would be a nice move by Lego, whatever it may be they do.
  11. The only thing I can already critique the Resistance X-Wing for is that we only get a flametrooper without an additional standard stormtrooper. I mean it was a normal Stormtrooper that shot and disabled the X-Wing in the beginning.
  12. Great, all the hype and excitement for the new Clone Turbo Tank are gone now. Good job Lego by pulling off another ATT and supposedly screwing up the visual apperance and design accuracy even more Looks like the Resistance X-Wing is now the only set I am excited about apart from UCS Sets we havent seen yet.
  13. The list was definitely longer, but that might have included a second series of 6 big action figures.
  14. Wasnt it already confirmed here that those 2 ships are fictional designs by Lego themselves? Something with Adventure Series?
  15. The most interesting information we got is without any doubt that Rex AT-TE is supposedly a complete rebuild. The set is completely uninteresting for me to buy, but I am still curious how it will turn out. All things considered its still a huge leddown that Lego is wasting so much resources and space in their summer wave for 2 Ships no one asked for or needs. They are not even Star Wars if you would ask me, just some random sci-fi models with a Star Wars Tag slapped unto them (to market them for a higher price tag for sure)
  16. The TIE Advanced + A Wing Price can never ever be true. 30 Pounds? Thats like what, 400 Pieces? How would that ever work for 2 system scale ships like the TIE Advanced and an A-Wing?
  17. Well the Slave 1 is without any doubt the most weird design in star wars. If you just cant get along with its general look, you probably wont like the UCS Lego Version neither. To me personally the weird design makes it even better than the other, more classic/conservative designs and top of that Lego did a phenomenal job with the UCS Version. I would always be my first recommendation when someone asks me what Lego SW they should buy. The Minifigures are great, the build is awesome (especially for UCS who often become pretty repetitive and monotonus to build), the final model is fantastic. The only negative aspects might be that the wings are hanging a bit down and the back side is a bit hollow, but aside from that I cant really complain. I bought it around 2 months ago for 230 bucks on amazon, it was more expensive than retail (200) but still absolutely worth it. If you consider to buy one of these UCS Sets, then I suggest you do it as soon as possible. As of now the Slave 1 can still be bought for a reasonable price, but you can believe that after its retirement and especially IF we are going to see another movie that features the ship or boba fett, the prices for the Set will explode. For the UCS Tie probably not that hard, but all UCS Models tend to increase in price extremely!
  18. To the actual matter at hand of this thread: Did someone of the longer owners of the UCS Slave 1 notice anything regarding this possible bending/drop problem of the main hull structure? I only had the Slave 1 for 2 months before I did the modification that was suggested by the original post. At least that modification doesnt seem to negatively affect the structural pressure on the upper brick-built part of the hull, so I guess its just nice to do if you are worried regardless the controversial information we got in this thread. The scenario that this bending problem can occur or not occur gives me the impression that it might has something to do with the production tolerances of the Lego parts that are crucial for the structural strength of the main hull. Maybe if you are unlucky you get a set with slightly higher tolerances so the construction will start to bend in time even if built correctly/properly. If the original construction had a very tight and precise calculation for the structurcal strength of the whole thing, I wouldnt even necessarily blame Lego for not realizing that in the development phase. But then again I have no idea what prodecures and technology is avaliable for the designers to do so. Still, would be interesting to research the matter further and know for sure.
  19. Well what do you know, it doesnt look shitty anymore Great work on that Mod, I can see why Lego made it smaller overall, since its not an important vehicle or special design. But even so, you did make it really appropiate
  20. You like the Slave 1? Isnt it awesome, even with my other sets that I modified the Slave 1 is still the most impressive and stunning looking Also it featured a very fun build and enjoyable build, since because of the design of the ship there arent that many repetitive procedures (the wings are the same, but they are relatively small and fast to build)
  21. Such a shame that Lego is still going for the Letter H instead of V for Kylo Rens Command Shuttle I guess since they knew that they screwed up the design of the system scale version, they felt that they had to make the polybag version in the same wrong way so noone would notice
  22. Ok, up until now I liked the old X-Wing a lot more than the new one, but this Version of the TFA X-Wing convinced me that the new design is at least on par with the old one. The reason for that is probably that this is the first version where I actually like the look of the new engines and wings that look like they are cut in half in s-foil position! The colourization is great and your own design of the ship is truly outstanding! I simply want it, badly!
  23. Are we going to see that one here in the forums as well? Good thing the CTT becomes more popular, the design really deserves it in my opinion.
  24. Agreed. The longer front section combined with the smothness of the main body and the fantastic angles on the side make this one great
  25. You are right. The Red Tiles were a bit all over the place. Did some changes to make the amount and position of the red tiles way more accurate (still not perfect but as close as I get) and also tweaked the overall greebling a bit. Now for anyone who wonders about the greebling design, I just took what I had left and went nuts with most of it. Thats the good thing about the MF, since its supposed to look like a garbage can, you cant go wrong too much with greebling As to the interior. I did change some things, added some details and stuffed it out a little bit, but not enough to be worth making a picture off and showing it. @Dameronian Hey, I really like what you did for the transition of the left mandible towards the main hull. Thats a pretty tricky spot to get proper without completely reworking the mandible and the hull. I tried a different approach but I think yours is a lot better since it looks way more integrated
