Completely agreed. Not even close to a comparison with the Ewok Village. Considerung the "assault force" of the Empire in the set they should have called it "Shenanigans on Hoth" instead
-
Call it what you will, its neither good as Echo Base nor Assault on Hoth. If it would be Echo Base than all of the interior is missing, as "Assault on Hoth" where is the assault, seriously? 2 Snowtrooper, 1 Speeder Bike and a stationary laser MG? No AT-AT or AT-ST? Well that counts for an amazing ASSAULT worthy of "UCS" label and prize right? Btw, where is the connection between the Imperial Assault and the Wampa Cave scene? The point I am trying to make is that the name doesnt matter at all. This is supposed to be a general UCS Hoth Theme Set, and as that it just fails miserably in my opinion.
-
Hell no, we will get TFA Luke for May 4th and no Hoth Leia whatsoever. Just to salt the wound for her absence in this "UCS"
-
Exactly! 2100 parts is not that much, especially for Base Construction type of Sets. But hey, at least they crank up the prices right? The pictures just confirm that it is EXACTLY what we saw in that Hoth video from Lego a long time back! And it was obvious since why would Lego make a video with constructions that looked very realistic for their standard procedure (give the minimum and charge the maximum for it). Alas, this to me is of course a complete disappointment and it does absolutely not deserve to be called "ultimate". Maybe the Slave 1 was the pinnacle of UCS quality from where it can only go downhill very steep now... (Hopes up for the Snowspeeder though!)
-
Something like the 2nd Death Star? Focused on the display quality wihout any playfeatures like shooters and stuff. Something that can be opened like the Ghostbusters HQ with a fully detailed command room like we see it in the movie with some minifigures and maybe some outside fortifications or Ion Cannon if the part count wouldnt be too high already. BTW: Normally I am not a fan of their heavily modulated set line up but in this case I think it would have been better if Lego would have excluded the Wampa Cave and even the Snowspeeder and purely focused on the Base itself.
-
Haha good one. Like they would ever do that.... The rest of my hope has been crushed by this latest info about the Echo Base. A heavily segmented playset (probably exactly what we have seen in that short video just without the AT-ATs) that lacks visual quality as well as a coherent design for display

When I saw the first pictures/videos of the new T-70 X-Wing I was kinda disappointed. We would get another redesigned X-Wing for the new trilogy which design changes didnt looked convincing in my opinion and bothered me. But after I saw the movie, looked at pictures and comparisons as well as some amazing Lego designs by users here in the forum, I started to like the new generation of X-Wing to the point were I actually even prefer it over the old design. Since we still have to wait some months to get a standard X-Wing Lego system scale version of the T-70 model, I went for the microfighter version and immediately knew I had to modify it (to the point that its maybe even a MOC considering how small the original is and how low its part count is) since I wasnt really satisfied with its build that lacked the unique wing design, had a stubby central body and the typical possibilty to seat a minifigure in it. Changes: - Longer central body - Wings that fold together and split appart in the correct way - Full Cockpit - Astrodroid behind the cockpit as well as engine details - overhauled base construction and colourization I am very satsfied with the way the wings worked out. The design includes the very specific differences compared to the old X-Wing with the color, engines and wings. Its not perfect since the wings overlap like the original system scale version and the body is too thick in the central part, but in this scale I had to make compromises. And now to some actual pictures as well as a picture from the original to compare to. Would like to hear some feedback from you guys Updated/final version: _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ And the original build:

Same here, and since I am not really into terrain and structures anyway, the UCS Snowspeeder is the most interesting for me. Its not on an Insta-Buy level for me right now, since we dont know anything (especially when it comes to the price per part, if they go for the 200 Bucks Standard price now regardless of the piece count I´m out! For example Slave 1 got 1900 parts and the X-Wing only around 1500 parts and they did cost the same ... ). Still, I am excited to see what they come up with so many years after the first UCS Snowspeeder in terms of their design!
-
Well, we got kinda spoiled already by that one picture where you could barely see stuff, but yeah more detailed pictures will hopefully fuel this thread with more interesting on-topic discussions again Regarding Hoth UCS: Please be no Playset, please be no playset, please be no playset .... Ah, who am I kidding, its going to be a playset To bad in my opinion, would have been interesting to see more of a display focused Hoth Echo Base. I know that would have been hard to do since the Base is not that flashy or visually interesting, but still I think it would have been interesting to see what they would have come up with.

The front and back view looks so weird, but all other angles make this design impressive in terms of bulk and agressive appearance, especially from the angled front/side view! Great work and always nice to see that less prominent designs get attention from Modders and Mocers as well

[MOC] [LDD] UCS INCOM T-70 X-Wing Fighter
BigEl replied to All in the Reflexes's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks pretty awesome, especially from the back! But considering the amount of parts and the size of the wings, they surely would drop like crazy in an assembly of real lego parts right? -
The mouth of Unkar looks a bit weird, but aside from that a very nice head mold and print!
-
Never ever. Old Luke all the way. Not only because he looks epic as hell but we already got Phasma. She would be nothing special anymore

Thats excatly the mod the lambda class shuttle needs, since its landed stance is at least as iconic as its triangular flying stance. Looks amazing!! Any idea why Lego didnt go for this in the first place? Is it significantly heavier and stresses the base construction a lot more? Is it more unstable? Or, as it seems to be so often the case, were they just not capable or dedicated to do proper design studies? Would also love to see your version of the Shuttle combined with michaelozzie´s cockpit/nose mod, that actually seems to be perfect in my eyes All in all these great mods, that enhance the model infinitely, will not get me to buy Legos Tydirium Set however. Even though it was always one of my favorite designs, just too much work and money for me to get a proper lambda shuttle now

Resistance X-Wing Microfighter. The build is mediocre, but that minifigure is top notch. Awesome print and the helmet is fantastic!

And also for the playstation 3 if the information on amazon is correct. Which would be nice for me since I still own a playstation 3. And the game is also 10 bucks cheaper than for the new consoles

After watching pictures of the movie version I have the same feeling, specifically the wings seem to be too thick and massive compared ot the central body. But then again we would need more pictures from different angles to judge it better. Reference: http://img.lum.dolimg.com/v1/images/kylo-ren_s-command-shuttle_0b43b874.jpeg?region=73%2C0%2C1754%2C878

We also see full system scale or even UCS size First Order Star Destroyer on the cover of the game. Doesnt have to mean anything for actual sets.

Are those even the lasers? I am no expert on this, but it seems weird that on every other toy as well as reference material we see red (even in the movie) while the TIE shoots green lasers. The turret underneath shoots definitely green lasers as well but has no color on it that would suggest it.
-
Veery nice, but I do think that the turret on the underside is too big now in comparison to the size of the real one (which is barely noticable and in system scale not really good to recreate). Inner Spokes look very good, I did a similar modification, but mine are just attached by the 1x1 round plate (which is more sturdy than one would believe aka the spokes stay in position when untouched) and the inner centre of the panel attachment is too big in comparison to the outer centre. Also, even though the lasers the TIE shoots are green, the shooters themselves or lights or whatever it is are red on the real model, arent they? Reference:

I actually think people are just overthinking it with Plaigus/Snoke because they just want it to be Plaigus and not because it seems to be likely. Fact is: Palpatine said he killed him, Snokes Name is Snoke and its a new trilogy so going for as many new characters as possible makes sense.
-
That would be interesting for people who like to dive deeply in Star Wars Lore, but I hardly doubt it would change anything for the main plot of the new trilogy, which is pretty obviously focused around Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren (and maybe Hux and/or Phasma) with Snoke as well as the the other side-cast like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher etc. just the means to an end.
-
I still dont get why people are so obsessed with this theory. Plaigus is dead, the new main evil guy is called Snoke, they did an all new cast and it wouldnt make sense to create a useless tie to a simple mention in one of the prequels. And even if it may be possible, does it even matter if he would be?
-
Any updates on the beauty? Maybe more pics from the side/underside/back or the LDD file? I would love to give this model a shot

Interesting design for sure. But honestly I dont think this fits the Empire in any way shape or form. Just looks weird since the Empire design is often/most of the times blocky and agressive in contrast to those smoothed and rounded out wing panels and their angle. Would have been interesting to see them in a V-Shape like Kylo Rens Shuttle.
