Carded Lego Indiana Jones Mini Figure Kenner Style
Gregorovich replied to markpoon's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
That's just perfect, it looks so real! I wish TLG actually did these, so you could get some of the figs cheaper. Yours looks like it could well be official, though! Well done, and thanks for sharing! -
That question was answered two posts above your's. But, yes, I think that most of us are also looking forward to a review. I was wondering, seeing as the two pictures we've got are officially from TLC's website, can we expect better, closer pics of Hoth Echo Base anytime soon?

There certainly is a lot going on, and some nice minifig posing. However, it's the house I'm interested in. Does it have an interior? If so, could you please photograph it? Well done, and thanks for sharing this with us!

Excellent modulars, Mifody! The house is really nice, and looks as though it could be something TLG released. The lights are very nice, and I like the furniture. The church is excellent, as it's a mix between modern design and Gothic architecture. They both fit in very nicely with your street. Well done, and thanks for sharing!

How exciting! I can't wait, I'll be signing up right as soon as I can. I'm sure it'll be great. -
Probability of returning to Classic Pirates after POTC...
Gregorovich replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think they will return eventually. I mean, other than Star Wars, licenses themes never last that long, however great they are. I think they'd be silly not to return to CP once the public lose interest in PotC, because pirates is a very popular theme amongst kids. And with all the new moulds they have, there's plenty of scenes and minifigures they couldn't have done before. -
Thanks for the link, Igoran! And thanks, VerSen for the excellent review! The set looks great, as it has some really nice parts and colours. The minifigures are also nice, but I wonder if they're a little over detailed. They're still nice though. The podracers look amazing, and very sturdy. They're very well designed IMO. as mug as I like this set, though, it's not on my list of "must buys", as there's a few other sets I want more. Thanks again!

What was the last movie you watched?
Gregorovich replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I watched True Grit last night. I have never seen the original, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I really liked it, the story was interesting and the action scenes were good. There was some great performances in it, too. -
Excellent work! It looks very nice from the outside, and it fits in nicely with a town. The interior though is absolute amazing. There's so many details I love, and I may just steal a couple of designs, if you don't mind ! Well done, and thanks for sharing!

Vignette: Midnight Heist
Gregorovich replied to Gregorovich's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks! You say it shows a nice little scene; yes, I suppose it is for the robber, but not for anyone else . -
Midnight Heist by Gregorovich9, on Flickr As the clock strikes midnight, the notorious jewel thief sneaks into the museum via an air vent. The vent opens directly behind an ancient Aztec chest, full of jewels and gold. The criminal admires some of the beautiful and valuable treasure for a while, before making off with the lot. This is really looking great, lightningtiger! It's really realistic, and the colour choices are good. I particularly like the coffee shop and the womens' clothes shop. I look forward to the next update. Well done!

Thanks for that picture, SilentMode. I wonder if the selection is good though? I also notice that on the sign it says head+body+legs. No mention of hair/hat or accessories. This doesn't really matter to me anyway, though, as we don't have an official store up here, which I don't understand. Wales have one, England have around 4(?), but Scotland have 0. I really think TLG need to open up more stores, as some continents don't have a single one. EDIT: I see there's a new store opening in the UK - but it's yet another one in England. It's in Liverpool, by the way.

What was the last movie you watched?
Gregorovich replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Probably because they were both released on DVD last week . But yes, they are opposites. I got Black Swan because some friends were coming over, and my dad rented Tangled for my sister (Friday has become known as "Film and Sweetie Night" to her and my brother, for obvious reasons). Anyway, I hope you enjoyed them both! -
What was the last movie you watched?
Gregorovich replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I watched Black Swan last weekend. I must say, what an odd film . I found the bits about the injuries in her imagination quite confusing, and the lesbian parts were also quite wierd. However, the acting was good, and I did enjoy watching it. My sister also made me watch Tangled. Of course, it's not exactly the perfect film for a 20 year old man, but I think she enjoyed it. I'd recommend this to anyone with young daughters, and possibly sons as well (there's some action parts and funny scenes). -
The vignette is nice, but the piano is the real star of this creation. It's very realistic and perfectly shaped. Well done, and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for those links, Aanchir. I actually like the design of the sketch Mothership to the final one. If they changed the colour scheme a bit (make it more bley and silver), I think it would look great. I know it's almost just as lacking in terms of 'mothership-ness' as the final model, but it just somehow looks more alien IMO. I think it would be possible to make it have a spinning outer ring if they modded it a little. That's really the only prelim I like more than the final, though.

Well done, Peanuts! The deep snow with the bloody footprints are very nice, and I love the spiked rails. Well done, and thanks for sharing!

Fountain of Youth (Adventurer MOC)
Gregorovich replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Very nice structure, Plissken! I really like the round part on the roof, and the whole thig really does look 'ruined'. I also like the idea of putting in items from different eras, to suggest it's been searched for forever. Thanks for sharing, and well done! -
Thanks for the great review, Pandora! This is a really nice set, considering how old it is. It's got some really nice features, like the cooker and the BBQ. It's a little plain, but it's still a lovely model. I just wish that TLG would come away from the repetitive Police/Fire/Harbour (not that they don't have good sets) subthemes, and go back to a nice civilian orientated subtheme for a while. Thanks again!

That really is a super modular, Igorlando! It's a wonder to behold, and you should be really proud of yourself. I say six months well spent. Well done, and thanks for sharing!
-
Very nice vig, de Gothia! I like the expressions on their faces, and the trees are excellently built. Well done, and thanks for sharing!

Yes, I agree with that list. However, didn't we get a tan Ewok in the Ewok Attack set? The one with the amazing new mould with the skull on it? I'd like to update my list with a couple of ideas from other members. I really want a Leia in Boussh (unsure of spelling) disguise, and a Shmi Skywalker (Anakin's mother). An Adi Gallia fig would also be great, because it would mean a new headpiece, and a female head in reddish brown.

REVIEW: 9349 Fairytale and Historic Minifigure Set
Gregorovich replied to Pandora's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the great review, Pandora! Personally, this is a great set for me. There's a lot of parts I don't have but want (blonde braided hair, female head, mermaid parts, dresses, orange male hair, female pirate torso, jester hat, etc...), so it's good to get all those pieces in one set. However, I do agree with you all that the price is far too high for a set that doesn't have a single new/exclusive part. I also find it annoying that every fig has the same head depening on their gender (even if I don't have either of the heads, I still want some variety). And some of the part choices are very strange; a Kingdoms prince torso on a Snake Charmer, and a suit on a chimney sweep (thanks for lettin me know what he was meant to be, by the way!)? All in all, I like the set a lot, but it's way overpriced. Thanks again! -
Thanks very much for these! the sets all look amazing, in particular the Fire Temple. The building in it is excellent, and the selection of minifigs is great. I noticed that too. The crocodile/lizard thing intrigues me. I wonder if they'll be in the jungle or something..?
