  1. Good work, Mariko! It looks great both on the inside on the outside. I love all the details. Well done, and thanks for sharing!
  2. I think it will be the usual vignette contest, with either: Eurobricks Collectable Minifigures Series 2 16x16 Vignette with a figure from each series Treasure Hunt Something completely new You can never be too sure around here, though! I'm sure whatever you put on for us will be great fun. So thanks in advance for whatever it is!
  3. Thanks so much, Whitefang for yet another brilliant review! I've come to like this series a lot, even though I was very disappointed when I saw the first finalised images. Now though, I like almost all the figures, even the aerobics instructor! My favourite in this series is the Zookeeper. She's just such a great fig IMO, as she has the ponytail in a new colour, a great face and torso print, and the new monkey. The Cavewoman is a close second, with her lovely hairpiece and prints, and then the Egyptian Queen, because of the great hairpiece, dress slope and prints. I also particularly like the Clown because of his pie, the Aerobics Instructor for her pink parts and Godzilla for his green parts and his hat. I'm very happy with the numbers of each figure. There's at least 4 of all my favourites except the Queen. It's also good for the army builders, as they'll get at least three of each if they buy a box. I was wondering if the Egyptian Queen, the Zookeeper and the Aerobics Instructor had back prints? I think they should, seeing as they have the curves at the front. Thanks again for this great review!
  4. This artwork really is great! I was actually quite surprised to find out that so many of you were so good at this sort of thing. Well done to everybody, and thanks for sharing it with us! Here's a tone drawing of Atlantis I did. I did it a while ago, but I still feel it's sort of unfinished. I'd like to add more, but I'm not really sure what. Anyway, here it is: Atlantis Sketch by Gregorovich9, on Flickr Hope you like it! Wow. You really have a talent. These just blew me away when I saw them!
  5. I went to Argos to get Isla de la Muerta, but they had none in stock. They also had no Captain's Cabins, and they haven't got the Forbidden Forest in yet, either. I went to Asda, though, and they had Captain's Cabin on the shelf so I picked one up. I was surprised at how tiny the box was, it was about as small as an impulse set! But that doesn't matter too much. I plan to get either the Forbidden Forest or Isla de la Muerta sometime soon. That's a pretty nice deal, good for you! I wish I could find great little offers like that.
  6. Thanks for the excellent and detailed blogs. Now, I'm not much of a classic pirates fan, but I really enjoy reading these. Well done, and thanks for doing them!
  7. I agree with Sandy and LegoCityMann. I mean, these are meant to be original minifigures you won't get in other themes - most of these figures have already appeared in a different theme, or as Collectable Minifigure themselves.
  8. Great update, I like the tents a lot. It looks really lively and happy. Well done, and good luck!
  9. That's the preliminary photo. If you look at the minifigs, you can tell.
  10. Thanks very much for this! I really hope that the distribution is the same here in the UK. It's great that there's at least three of every fig, and four of all my favourites except Cleopatra!
  11. Wow! I'm stunned, it looks so amazing with it's neon and the bright colours. I'm even more amazed that you did this in 48 hours, I couldn't do that in a year! Well done, everyone. You should all be really proud! I really wish I could've came. From all the photos and discussions, it seems as though it was a lot of fun. It would have been good to meet you all in person, too. Maybe next year I'll have the time and money to travel down? Well done again! EDIT: I just remembered about the SigFig picture. Is there a photo of the display? If so, I'd love to see it!
  12. I love the colour scheme! You've definitely managed to achieve that worn, damaged look, and it looks really good. The lighting and functions are really good, and I love the final shot with all the lights glowing. Well done, and thanks for sharing!
  13. I'm not sure if this has already been answered, but are the gold bars and coins in the sets now chromed? Or do you still have to contact TLG to get the chromed ones?
  14. Thanks. I think I'll just get Isla de la Muerta then, it seems to be the smartest option. About Lucius' hair being used on a female, they used it on Poison Ivy and a few chess queens, and I think it looked quite good. But I think I'd rather have Elizabeth's hairpiece, anyway. EDIT: I went it Argos this morning, and they had no Isla de la Muertas in stock. Earlier, though, I'd found £5 worth of coins lying around my room, and I had a spare fiver. So I went to ASDA and bought te Captain's Cabin. I think I should still be able to get Isla de la Muerta when it's back in stock, and if not I'll just get the Forbidden Forest or Dobby's Release. EDIT #2: Here's a picture to show you how it looks on a female: Hairpiece Mix-up by Gregorovich9, on Flickr (you also get to see what the zombie looks like with Leia's ) I think it looks alright. How about you?
  15. Well, I don't recognise this because I've never seen Smurfs. However, I still like the MOC a lot. It looks really cozy, and the shape if the roof is excellent. Well done, and thanks for sharing!
  16. Thanks. I'm glad Leia's hair is dark brown, it's always nice to get recoloured parts.
  17. Well, it could be set in Nepal, where there's mountain temples and tombs. Or they could do it in the Arctic, and just make up temples, like an ancient city that's been trapped under the ice for centuries.
  18. Thanks, lightningtiger! I actually do have some more 8x8 MOC's planned. I was considering a house (but not too sure on that, as it would need to be really tall to get all the rooms inside!), an Sci-Fi alien autopsy station, and the final part of the Midnight Heist trilogy (though I'm not giving away what that is yet!) Thanks again!
  19. I know about Bricklink etc., but I just don't buy online. I've had bad experiences previously, that's why I only trade or buy direct. I would buy Isla de la Muerta because it has all the things I'm interested in besides bottles. However, the Forbidden Forest also has a female, and both Freeing Dobby and Captain's Cabin have female hairpieces, and the Captain's Cabin also has bottles. If I got the Isla de la Muerta I would only get one female fig/hairpiece, but if I got two of the cheaper sets I'd get two. So what do you think now?
  20. Right, so I was thinking, maybe we should collect all the most popular ideas and give them to the LEGO Ambassadors. That way TLG can hear our ideas, and then we'll have a better chance of actually getting them. What do you think?
  21. I'm stuck about what sets to buy. I have a very low LEGO budget; around £20. So here's the sets I want: The Captain's Cabin Dobby's Release The Forbidden Forest Isla de la Muerta I'd be willing to pay more for Isla de la Muerta because it has the most parts I want. I'm interested in treasure, female minifigure parts and bottles. What do you think? Help would be appreciated !
  22. Thank you! The ground floor is also my favourite - in fact it's really the only floor I think looks quite good! I think you should try and make a restaurant MOC. There's not been a lot of them recently, and I'm sure it would be great. Thanks again!
  23. Thank you, LegoCityMann! I don't think mine is as good as your drive-through with the gigantic coffee mug sign, but I'm glad you like it .
  24. Cafe by Gregorovich9, on Flickr After seeing so many other amazing cafe MOC's, I wanted to make my own. However, I wanted mine to be different. I made it tall and thin, rather than small and wide. I think it looks quite good with all it's windows. Cafe 5 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr The entrance has lights and a striped canopy. I wanted to add a sign, but I couldn't find a way to do so without preventing the door from opening. Cafe 7 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr The first floor window dominates the building. This is mainly because it meant I had to use less parts . Cafe 9 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr The second floor window and the railing on the roof. Cafe 2 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr The interior. It's a pretty tight fit, but I think I managed to fit quite a lot in. Cafe 3 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr Cafe 4 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr The kitchen and serving area. There's cupboards, a fridge with food, a fruit bowl, a till and a coffee machine. Cafe 6 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr The first floor dining room. Due to the small space a a lack of parts, I could only fit in 2 tables and 3 chairs. I'm sorry about this particularly bad photo . Cafe 8 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr On the second floor is an office and storage room. This is where the owner keeps track of finances and stores the items. Cafe 10 by Gregorovich9, on Flickr Finally, on the roof is a nice little private garden. There is various plants and flowers plus a bucket. Comments and criticism are more than welcome as usual, but, also as usual, I can't improve it as it's already destroyed. Thanks for looking and any comments!
  25. Ah, I see Colette LeMans and Casey Roswell (wearing Mr. Crusoe's hat and Siegmund Freiburg's clothes) have decided to go for a round of golf . (Escape from Isla Paradisa characters if you didn't already know!) Very nice MOC, though. The pond and the sandpits look great, and the alien robot is really nice and chunky. I'd like to see what youve put under the water. Well done, and thanks for sharing!
