  1. It's been a while since I've been here but I simply couldn't stay quiet after seeing this - very well done Bruno, you created yet another masterpiece. Too bad it's not a Ferrari, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to get everything needed to build it (I'm not really big fan of McLarens and my lego shelf is pretty much full already, or will be once I finish the last models I have here).
  2. It's coming quite nicely, I guess this is going to be my summer project. Quick question - how difficult would you say it would be to make it without PF / pneumatics? I prefer manual cars as I build them mostly to just sit on a shelf and look pretty :-)
  3. Wow, I have to admit that you guys are much faster than I anticipated :) Are there any notable rare parts besides the headlights (I already ordered those) that I should start buying? I am really looking forward to building this car.
  4. I think this red version uses more "colored" parts than original - in render I spotted some pieces in red that were originally black, so I guess that's were this is coming from. Anyway, it's great to see instructions for this car as it (along with Francesco) deserves a wider recognition :)
  5. Thanks a lot of that photo, it shows that it actually is bigger than the more common 1:10 cars. I will be hoping for instruction to come at some point during summer - already made first order to get my hands on enough orange panels, flex axles, wheels and those front headlights, so I guess I can say I'm already committed :)
  6. These measures are completely sufficient - it seems that your car is more or less same size as 1:10 DTM cars. It just looks bigger on pictures because of the new Porsche wheels (Porsche is noticeably bigger than other cars). Hopefully there will be instructions in the future - once they are published I will most likely build it. I will surely keep my eye on this thread :)
  7. This is one good looking car, I really like this one! I am looking for a model that could fill last spot on my "DTM" shelf and this one seem to be the right fit thematically. And on top of that it's orange, which is a great addition in color diversity :-) I will be eagerly waiting for instructions ;-) @DugaldIC Do you by any chance have dimensions for this car? I'm trying to figure out how much bigger it is from "regular" 1:10 scaled MOCs.
  8. @Lipko don't sell yourself short, your Audi is still an amazing model, it is just different style of building (which I am glad for - it gives this tiny DTM collection a bit of diversity). @technic_addict I want to give my cars a bit of individual touch so usually I add some chrome parts here and there. I ordered 4 sets of chromed wheels from Gabor a year ago, one set for each chrome color he was offering at that time - red, orange, silver and titanium black. I immediately loved titanium black chromed wheels so I decided to wait for the right model to use them for. And thanks to Bruno I found that right model. I'm sorry to hear that Gabor is in hospital - hopefully he will get well soon.
  9. Yet another great model from you! It's difficult for me to judge this car as I had been seeing whole progress from the very beginning but there is one thing I can say - it is a very sexy looking sports car! All mechanical functions work without any hiccups (engine, gearbox, shifting mechanism, doors, steering), it is visually striking model, instructions are great and easy to follow and no semi-advanced Lego Technic builder should have any problems with them and there are even professional stickers available for it. The only "decent" thing (it's not bad by any means, just not as great as the rest of the car) are front headlights. They look good from front view but a bit empty from side view. But I have seen quite a few different versions of them and I have no idea how to make them look any better, so I'm not really in a place to criticize here. Here are some pictures: And pictures of whole DTM lineup - Audi RS5 DTM 2013 by Lipko, BMW M4 DTM 2014 by BrunoJJ and Merceds-AMG C63 DTM 2015 by BrunoJJ: Great job, Bruno, and I can't wait for your next project!
  10. This model looks good, you made a lot of progress in quite short time with your bulds. I like red version more than original black one - when it comes to Ferrari, it simply has to be red :) However, I really doubt that the real price to build red model will be around 300€. From my experience I would say double that amount (well, depends on where you live). The least expensive MOC I ever built was Predator by N. Kuipers - and that car was specifically built with keeping parts availability in mind (plus it has around 500 parts less). And even that was around 400€.
  11. It looks great - the rear part (from side view) looks a bit too high but model as whole is still instantly recognizable. The front is stellar and I really like "leather" interior :) Some time ago I was thinking of starting small Technic Ferrari collection, seeing that red is the most common Technic color and the amount of Ferrari MOCs out there, but seeing that 2 of the best models are exclusive (Brunos LaFerrari and now your 308 GTSi), it might not be worth it at the end. Anyway, great job, your customer must be a very happy person :)
  12. nice one - but I kinda have to admit that I like the blue version more. When I was building mine after I was done with ordering needed blue axles, there are only 2 blue left in total on whole bricklink for quite some time :D
  13. So shipping estimation changed to 7th of July - my problem right now is that I don't know if my order is still active in their system or not. Money they charged from my card is back on my account, order status says "backordered". I'm not sure now if I should create another order when it gets back to stock or not...
  14. I guess F40 is not exactly the most "technic-friendly" car to design - front hood is basically long, continuous arch, which is very hard to imitate with bricks/panels. You set yourself for a very hard task :) But I think Competizione version might be a bit easier to make, mostly because of much bigger air-intake holes on top of the hood. By the way - not being satisfied with your creation is a good thing, that's what drives people to learn and get better :)
  15. Looking good so far, I like the idea of trying to reduce parts count. I don't know how much of a redesign you are doing but I am really looking forward to your new version of F40 - I might put it to my Ferrari "collection" after all. What keeps me away from your first version is the front hood - I simply couldn't see a much of an F40 in it. Plus 18x 44 - those are quite expensive (thankfully there are no #3 angled connectors).
  16. @Kumbbl - great list of mods, I will have to bookmark your post. I'm wondering how many similar mods will be done until I get my hands on the Porsche. Ordered it from lego site in first few hours after release on June 1st - they took the money and then set model to "temporarily unavailable" without any date of sending in sight...
  17. For me there wasn't any problem with ordering for Lego store, I was able to put it in my shopping cart since I woke up (~9AM CET). And it is saying that it is temporarily out of stock and will ship in 30 days, it was like that whole time I am awake. I know that this set is generally considered a disappointment and way too overpriced but I know myself too well, so I ordered one already :) I'm wondering how they are going to solve instruction problem - my guess is that they will place few papers inside the box with corrections, as a quick fix, at least for the first batches. But if they really want to maintain that selfproclaimed "Ultimate" label, they might eventually reprint all the books. I think this mistake is going to cost them either way. TLG got a bit lucky that these issues happened in this "limited" initial run, not with all-out release on August. Maybe that was their intent - to have a test run and fix whatever issues come up before full release.
  18. It puts it in different perspective knowing it is inspired by real car - now I find it better looking from all of the sudden :) here are promised pictures of black/yellow version. At first I wanted to make it all yellow but the lack of existence of yellow bionicle tooth stopped me. Then I was doing some search and found picture of cool looking Aventador (http://www.sssupersports.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/yellow-and-black-lamborghini-aventador-10.jpg) and I simply had to try it for this Gallardo. Plus I wanted to use yellow wheel and this is a perfect color combination to do it :)
  19. So, everything is put together in a box in Kladno, less than 30km from where I live, and still this set is 10% more expensive if I buy it from Czech Republic than if I bought it from Germany. Interesting... I can't wait for EB reviews of this car once it comes out, looks like there will a lot of mixed feelings about this set. But I will still get it the first day, it looks great and it's orange :)
  20. That white models looks good but I am a bit distracted by red endings on spoiler - I would have made them either white or black. But I don't think this white version trumps the original red one - for some reason red suits this car very nicely :) Btw - I will soon post pictures of my version of your car - I made it in black/yellow color but I'm still waiting for few parts that I have forgot to order before. But I'm expecting them any day now :)
  21. Those are Lamborghini Aventadors, same as the white Aventador on the left (http://rebrickable.com/mocs/StefanBirkefeld/lamborghini-aventador-lp-720-4-50-anniversario).
  22. Pagani Huayra by Francisco Hartley (2015) Lancia Stratos by JamesJT (2016) Audi RS5 DTM by Mate Lipkovics (2014) Lamborghini Aventador Anniversario by stefan_betula_pendula (Stefan Birkefeld) I think neither of these have been posted here yet
  23. I was wondering recently if I could find somewhere an index of the best technic real car replicas. HoF here is a good place to start but it's in no way complete, there are a lot of nicely looking builds that are not in HoF because they don't fit the rules. While recent "made up" models much like Icarus or Lipkos "Simple supercar" are very nice, I find it a bit more intriguing to build a "real" car. Plus if I limit myself in this way I can save myself from going bankrupt :D
  24. I knew for a while that I will be buying this set no matter what. While I was hoping it would go for around 200-250 euros, I think we will get our money worth here anyway. I don't really care for PF - I am building my models for display, and as few already said it does not make sense to put PFs into display models. I am sure that there will be people modding this set with PFs anyway. The news and deductions in past few days made me quite excited about the model to be honest. While I was hoping for purple version, I think we have enough information to safely assume that it's gonna be in orange. And that is the best color to go for in my opinion, assuming it will use regular Lego orange, not some "never seen before" shade. It would mean that we are getting another main color to play with in MOCs as there are many orange parts/panels already available, we were just lacking few very basic liftarms. Can't wait for this model to be finally introduced and available :)
  25. After a long time we have another sports car MOC with blue as a main color - great job. And you captured the spirit of the car very well. What's even more interesting is that Lancia uses yellow/gold wheels - you don't see those used very often on Lego supercars/sports cars :)
