  1. Whatever the body is, it looks like one single piece. Theres no way LEGO could manage that printing looking so smooth across two pieces. I think BB-8 is just two special pieces.
  2. I think what BB-8 lacks in printing and detail he makes up for with the fact that he's made up of completely new pieces. Sure, new pieces for a release like this is no big deal, but he still is the most unique figure of the wave. That being said, he looks really odd with the stud on the bottom. Its a shame he'll only look good when actually attached to a lego plate. I'm getting really curious about the interior of the Falcon. The 2011 version had a great, spacious interior, but it was kinda bland. I really hope we get some stickers to give the interior a bit more 'life'. Does anyone know if there have been any leaks of the Falcon from retailers?
  3. The key to this theme retaining a true Castle feel is if they keep the traditional Castle set grouping you'd expect to see; Large Hero Castle, tower/wall attack, small ambush set, villain tower, etc. If TLG lets this theme become something that heavily relies on vehicles, then it will without a doubt mean that Castle, as we know it, may not be around for a while. Which makes me sad.
  4. Seeing that OT Stormtrooper on the Advent Calendar box has got me thinking: could LEGO possibly change their design for the OT Stormie just enough so that they match with the TFA ones? Meaning white hands and printed waists rather than plain black pieces. I wouldn't be surprised, especially with the potential flood of OT Stormies we'll get next year thanks to Rogue One. Sorry, this is a little off-topic. Just thought it was interesting.
  5. When is the next LEGO Star Wars anniversary? Perhaps they'll do something big from The Force Awakens then.
  6. Ok, I need a few minutes to process these amazing images... Ok. So here are my thoughts: Rey's Speeder: Pretty much what I expected. Really like the way it looks. Rey's mask is a little weird, but its good the hair comes with the set as well. The thug guy is probably my least favourite fig of the whole wave. Poe Dameron's X-Wing: Not much new here, but nice to see it in higher definition. Millenium Falcon: Same as the X-Wing. First Order Snowspeeder: I'm very pleasantly surprised by this one. I was worried it was gonna look lame, but this is a really nice looking set. The figs look great too. First Order Special Force TIE: Very pleased with this one. It looks accurate to the ship in the film, and the minifig selection is nice. I'm really liking the look of the new Officers. Their hats look very Soviet Union to me, which I think is really neat. First Order Transport: This looks like so much fun. Basic sort of ship, but the minfig selection is amazing! Captain Phasma looks great, and I love the look of her cape! The Flametroopers look better now with their backpacks and bigger guns. The plain Stormies look great as well. Really think its cool to get Resistance soldiers without helmets. Really makes the individuality of the people in the Resistance stand out way more against the faceless ranks of the First Order. Kylo Ren's Shutlle: The ship itself looks great to me, but I'd really like to see it in flight mode. The minifig selection is good. Hux is a little disappointing. Maybe its the hat. He might look better with hair. Kylo Ren is where I'm having issues. I'm not displeased with the figure, but he just looks very different from how I thought they'd do him. The lightsaber is the most disappointing, just because I was hoping so much for a special mold. But it works. The helmet looks great, but without the hood he's just not as menacing. Perhaps him with the hood and the mask printed on the head would look better. Anyway, I can't wait till we can get a closer look at these sets. Even just some images of the backs of the boxes would be awesome.
  7. Looks way better than I expected. And I really love how they're using the orange pauldron. Really makes it feel so much more connected to the OT.
  8. Major spoiler here, so keep your distance. But don't look like you're trying to keep your distance. I dunno, fly casual. Personally, I'm very surprised this image has even surfaced.
  9. Perhaps the Resistance has more in their arsenal than just X-Wings.
  10. I wasn't referring to his outdoor outfit he wears when he rescues Luke, but rather the outfit he's wearing when he, Leia, Chewie and 3-P0 leave Hoth, the same outfit he's wearing when they land on Cloud City. The only version of that fig we have is the 2011 version. It could use an update.
  11. That would be really cool. It seems insane that LEGO would release another ESB Snowspeeder not even one full year after their last one. If it is an ESB one, then it better have Wedge, Han in his blue jacket and brown pants, and a new probe droid.
  12. This theme is really starting to sound like an amazing chance for something extremely authentic that was wasted because they just keep recycling the Ninjago and Chima style themes. Don't get me wrong, Ninjago and Chima are brilliant. But Castle has been a staple classic of the LEGO system for a long time. I've felt for a while that LEGO should give us a castle theme with a story and named characters and such, but give us detailed sets like the ones we saw in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series. They could've created a new fantasy realm and rejuvenated a classic theme with a high-fantasy vibe, but instead we're probably gonna get some rocket jousting function thing and that will be the big selling point. The only saving grave would be the minifigs. As long as they avoid colours for characters (Knights Kingdom 2 and Ninjago) or over the top armour and weapons (Chima), and give us simple, elegant medieval minifigs with nice printing and perhaps some new cape or armour designs. In the end, I have very low hopes for this theme. However, that just my own opinion. I bet its gonna be successful.
  13. I'm really loving the Troop Transport crafts. They just seem so much more menacing because they resemble a real world war machine. The new walkers... I'm a bit unsure. I like the look of the legs and the main body, but the lack of a head looks strange, but only because it was replaced with a seemingly inconveniently long gun. If the front turret was shorter, so the walker could turn with more swiftness rather than swinging around a huge canon, it would increase its effectiveness on the battlefield.
  14. That wouldn't make sense because the set is specifically titled "Carbon Freezing Chamber". Knowing that this set is gonna be roughly 30$, my guess is we'll see three figs, maybe four if we're lucky. I'm hoping for a new Luke, but I bet we'll get Lando, Leia in the prisoner outfit, and then either Han and the carbonite piece, or Boba and the carbonite piece. Since this set will be generally smaller than most location sets we've seen from the Star Wars line in many years, my guess is that this set will attach to a larger set focussed on the area where Luke and Vader duel, perhaps including the shattering window and the long walkway platform. Always wanted a better version of that scene as a set after seeing how simple it was in the original Cloud City set. Don't get me wrong, I love that set, but making a revamped version of that iconic scene would make a lot of sense to me. They've given us the duel on the Death Star II, so why not do the Bespin duel in just an epic fashion. I'd be fine if we didn't get a set of the main interior of Cloud City, with the dining room and the white hallways and such.
  15. I find that when I'm thinking of new sets, I always end up back with ideas for A New Hope. Just a few ideas off the top of my head. X-Wing Starfighter: An update to match the size of Poe's ship. Minifigs could be Luke, Biggs, a new astromech and a Rebel ground crew. TIE Fighter: Again, an update to go along with the upcoming TFA TIE. Minifigs include TIE Pilot, Imperial Officer, and two Imperial Navy Troopers. Darth Vader's TIEx Advanced: Haven't had a new one of these since 2009. Due for an update. Minifigs include Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin and Ben Kenobi (with hood). Yavin 4 Base: Could be a building set based on two of the main rooms - the command centre and the ceremony hall. Perhaps even have part of the command centre over top a hangar and use some ideas from the 2009 Home One set. Minfigs include Princess Leia in ceremony gown, General Dodonna, Luke in ceremony outfit, Han in ceremony outfit (medals would be separate pieces like the ones from the CMF series), x1 Rebel Trooper, x1 Rebel crew. Blockade Runner: A sturdy update from the old one, with a carrying handle and more of an interior if possible. Minifigs include Princess Leia, Captain Antilles, x2 Rebel Trooper, x2 Stormtrooper. Lars Homestead: Simple set, perhaps done similarly to the Mos Eisley Cantina. Minifigs include Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, x1 Jawa, Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 with back canister printing and a little holographic Leia.
  16. I just realized something. This year there has been a decent amount of ROTJ sets that focus on key moments and contain a lot of the essential characters, along with 2016's Empire Strikes Back resurgence, perhaps we'll see a decent wave of new A New Hope sets to coincide with the release of Rogue One. I know its a while away, but you can always wonder...
  17. Such exciting news if this is true! Not too surprised about the fact that there is TFA sets. I wonder if Takodana is the planet where the First Order is based out of? Pirate Transport will likely have Maz Kanata. The Battlefront BPs really excite me! This is a really smart way for LEGO to give us updated OT military figs (particularly Rebels), while still making it feel new. The Carbon Freezing chamber has me curious. Hopefully we will get a new Bespin Luke (please, for the love of bricks we need one), along with Lando, Boba, and Leia in her prisoner uniform. Throw in an ugnaught, Vader and a Stormtrooper and you've got yourself a home run. Hoth Attack sounds great because I wouldn't be surprised if the Battlefront BPs are gonna be based on Hoth. With the new UCS Echo Base coming out in the fall, I think we're gonna have a chance to build a seriously awesome Hoth collection. The Droid Escape Pod sounds neat, but unless we get a new type of alien or something of that ilk, it may be a little boring. Very surprised to see the Jedi Interceptor. I guess LEGO is still making an effort to hold onto the PT just a little bit. Unfortunately, I can't see myself buying this one simply because the likelihood of this set having any fig other than Obi-Wan and R4 is pretty slim, based on what we got in the Anakin's set last year. Perhaps it could be the blue ship he flies to Utapau and we could get Tion Medon, but I doubt it. Overall, this sounds like a fantastic wave and it will really compliment the recent OT sets and the upcoming TFA sets quite nicely.
  18. In The Force Awakens, 3-P0 has a new red left arm. But its the Santa suit that makes both his arms red in the calendar, not because its a new TFA version of the fig.
  19. I think it looks cool because it mixes the aspect of a militarizable suit (meaning you can imagine seeing them on the battlefield rather than just behind the computers and controls) while also satisfying the need for having a basic ground crew person. I never liked the plain grey uniformed Imperial crew because I had a tough time imagining that the Emperor or Vader would've ordered them to fight, and would've rather just killed them if the didn't like them. Perhaps once we see them in action and how they interact with the other characters once the film is out, people will have a change of opinion.
  20. That Qui-Gon fig is awesome! But despite all of its pros, this set still pales in comparison to what we'll see in the TFA sets. Sure, those updated figs are exciting, but nothing will trump my excitement for what we'll get on Force Friday.
  21. Thats definitely the Unbar henchman all right. But I gotta say, LEGO didn't quite get it right. The torso and legs looks great, but the face print and the big grey hood look way off. Also, I realized that the weird black helmet on that First Order crewman looks like a mix between the Imperial Navy Trooper helmet and the Death Star gunner helmet. And theres no way that that piece is still a prototype, as some of you have been hoping. Theres just no chance that LEGO hasn't finalized all the sets this close to release.
  22. Woah, I didn't know LEGO had that hood/mask combo piece. That would be brilliant. Also, that zombie hair really is cool. I'll definitely need to grab one of those and see how it looks on Han.
  23. He fits in the 2011 version, but only on his own. I'm guessing the cockpit of this new Falcon may be different, because from what I can see in the image, Rey and Finn appear to be next to each other.
  24. Seeing the hood on her makes the piece look way smaller, which is good. it looks bulky and weird in the other image we got of her. I noticed that too. While it would be a great thing to have some more variation in weaponry, I think thats just a glare because of the angle of the picture.
  25. Does anyone else think its a little odd that Rey doesn't have her staff thing? I'm guessing it'll be in the speeder set, but still, I thought it was her primary weapon, not a blaster.
