  1. Wow, such a nice surprise! Gotta say, I'm a little upset that the X-Wing is orange and black rather than grey and blue, but it still looks awesome. Poe looks fine, but it's a shame that there's no civilian clothes version of him. The Resistance crew member is cool (new alien) but also kinda weird. As for the Falcon, this is essentially what I was expecting (although I was hoping for a carrying handle). Can't wait to see the interior. Chewie's bow caster looks good, and the new gang members are pretty cool. It's nice to have a few riff raff characters that aren't aligned with any military. The First Order snowspeeder will definitely be worth buying multiples of, which I was hoping. It's a nice surprise that Hux is in Kylo's shuttle. Shame that there's so few regular Stormies, but I'm guessing we're in for some really great First Order and Resistance BPs in the new year. BB-8 looks rather simple, but I'm glad. I was worried they'd try to make him mobile and it would be way too bulky or break all the time. Can't wait to see him next to R2 so we can get a good sense of his height. Of all the figs, the Unkar guy sounds most intriguing. I'm guessing the gang members in the Falcon set has something to do with Han's story in the film, so perhaps the Unkar guy is the Jakku equivalent of the Tusken Raiders? Regardless, this news is very exciting. Can't wait to see more images!
  2. Honestly, I'm glad theres no new Death Star. I'm way more excited by the potential of large ground base sets of both the Resistance headquarters and the First Order base. I think theres and chance for some really solid sets, maybe even a UCS version of one of them.
  3. I'm really liking those white wings. Very excited to see how LEGO will do that (white pieces wouldn't look good, so they must have thought of something clever). So is the Infiltrator the only thing we getting a chance to see? Or is there a chance that they may reveal some stuff during the hall H panel?
  4. The mask isn't quite what I was expecting, but it still looks good. The rest of her looks PERFECT!
  5. The sets themselves may not reveal much, but the scenes that they depict might. Then again, all the sets are vehicles, so they could get away with showing us more. All I'm really hoping for is a good look at some of the new heroes in minifig form. If they simply revealed the minifigures from all the sets, I'd be a happy bantha.
  6. If they don't show us anything new from TFA, sure its disappointing, but like many people have been saying, the sets come out in two months. Two months really isn't that long. However, do I really believe that LEGO won't show us at least some images? No. I expect them to have one set on display at SDCC, and my guess would be Rey's speeder. Any of the other sets could potentially reveal too much of the story.
  7. Woah, that Hoth set looks absolutely amazing! So happy to finally see the ion canon and the shield generator. Do we know when this new set is being released?
  8. Part of me hopes that LEGO will release hi-res images of all seven sets, rather than display one. But my guess is we'll only see Rey's Speeder and maybe Kylo Ren's Shuttle (because of the leak of the instruction manuel, but also because it seems that Kylo Ren is being pushed hard by the marketing of the film, they want us to wonder about him).
  9. Anyone else notice how the R2 in the SDCC set has his dome printing slightly shifted, as if to imply his head turning? Really neat effect.
  10. They should've given us Shmi and a Tusken raider instead of R2 and Watto.
  11. Unfortunate news. However, I'm not surprised. If anything, I'm more excited! I have a good feeling that Disney has something special planned for Star Wars at D23 this year. Perhaps another teaser? Reveals of new stills? Perhaps a proper look at Maz Kanata, Snoke, or even Gleeson's character? Along with some of the toys (I wouldn't be surprised if they reveal a couple sets, but not the whole wave. Maybe Rey's Speeder and Kylo's Shuttle), it would be a fantastic way of building up even more hype without actually giving away any story, which seems to have been their tactic.
  12. The fact that both the main villains in TFA have what seem to be real names makes me wonder: where is the Darth? It feels weird having no official Darths in the film. Its an important title. Perhaps its apparent non-presence in the film (as far as we know) is a sign that our new baddies are not true Sith? Or maybe Snoke and Kylo Ren are just aliases ala Sidious/Palpatine or Tyranus/Dooku, and the true Sith names of these mysterious figures will be revealed in time. Just interesting to think about.
  13. True, but its still a variant of a type of helmet. Its no different than the current Kashyyk and Geonosis clone trooper helmets. Same piece, different colour. What I really wonder about Phasma is whether LEGO will go the extra mile and actually chrome her. They could just use their standard metallic colours, but if their ability to make trans-coloured body pieces has improved such as it has, than perhaps their minifigure-chroming techniques have also improved. One can only hope.
  14. On the topic of new moulds, here is a list of the new pieces I believe we'll likely be seeing in these sets. BB-8: I'm not sure how LEGO plan on tackling this little guy, but I bet it'll involve a specialty mould. Rey: Her hair and her head wraps/goggles, which I believe will be two separate moulds. Poe Dameron: His helmet. Needs to be a new piece. Kylo Ren: His face mask/hood (which I think should just be one piece), and his lightsaber hilt Captain Phasma: Helmet and probably an interesting little cape. Various First Order Troopers: Helmets and perhaps weapons. We've had the same old blasters since 2007, perhaps some new variations would be nice to add to the arsenal.
  15. 705$ CAD altogether before tax. Thats pretty steep, but compared to, say, the price of the Death Star playset (which I bought back a few years ago), its not so bad. While its not surprising, part of me wishes that there is a location set. However, I'm guessing January will be chocked full of sets based on the more dramatic aspects of the story. I hope we see at least 2 location sets (Resistance base and Evil castle maybe?), And hopefully more of the secondary heroes and villains. One thing I'm beginning to fear is that we won't see Luke and Leia in this first wave. It would seem a huge middle finger to all the fans who are expecting to get these new versions of their childhood heroes and add them to their collection. Hopefully that won't be the case. Perhaps we'll see something at San Diego Comic-Con. That would be nice.
  16. MAUL FINALLY HAS LEG PRINTING! This new Infiltrator puts the 2011 version to shame. Sure, the Ani and Watto figs are kinda lame (I get why Ani is there, but why the heck did we need another Watto? Really missed a good chance to get Shmi). Qui-Gob looks fantastic with the poncho. And Maul's new face looks awesome! Its a little annoying that he's showing his teeth, but I think upon closer inspection, it'll grow on me. Any idea when this is being released? With the constraction figures?
  17. So I've been doing some thinking about battle packs recently, and I realized a fantastic pattern that LEGO could use in terms of what Bps get released within the next few years. It goes without question that we will see Bps for The Force Awakens (First Order and Resistance), but am I not correct in saying that LEGO currently plans to release 4 new Battle Packs in each january wave? With that said, a smart thing LEGO could do is to release new Battle Packs for A New Hope simultaneously with the TFA Bps, putting emphasis not only on The Force Awakens, but also drawing kids attention even more to the Originals. So here are my ideas for what these hypothetical A New Hope battle packs could be: Imperial Forces Battle Pack - would include x2 Stormtroopers, x1 Imperial Navy Trooper, and x1 Imperial Officer. Basically just the line-up from the latest Imperial Star Destroyer, minus Vader and the crewman. The reason that I think these figs would be the best choice for an updated Imperial battle pack is because it focuses on the basics, but also allows you to beef up the higher ranking members of your army, hence the Officer. And the navy Trooper, as it stands right now, are unpopularly rare, and I think we should fix that. The Build itself could simply be a miniaturized Death Star turbo laser, with the two main canons and it could somehow have a green spring-loaded launcher. Rebel Alliance - Here is where we see an amazing opportunity for really good updates for some seriously outdated minifigs. The Blockade Runner Rebels troopers. We'd get x2 of the blue short troopers, x1 of Captain Antilles (the one Vader strangles), who could easily be collected multiple times and be treated as a Rebel Captain or something, and for the fourth figure, I was thinking either a Pilot or a crewman from Yavin, or another blue shirt trooper. This would be an ideal chance to create a new, accurate helmet for the Rebels. Plus, we could be given different, double-sided faces for all the figs, giving them variety. The build itself I was honestly thinking could be one of those little runner trolly things that we see Leia and Dodonna riding, but with a gunner turret attached, OR this could be a rare chance for LEGO to use a design from Battlefront. Just a thought. Now, take this idea for TFA/ANH, and apply it to Ep 8/ESB and Ep 9/ROTJ. So in 2017 with the release of Ep 8, we could get both Ep 8 battle packs and Empire Strikes Back battle packs, and same for Ep 9's release. While theres literally now way I could even begin to think of ideas for Episodes 8 and 9, heres a couple ideas for more updated OT battle packs. Imperial Snowtroopers - would include two basic snow troopers, one Snowtrooper commander, and an AT-AT driver. While the driver seems lame, the rest of the grouping is perfect. Simple, yet it allows you to really bulk up of Snowtroopers, which has always seemed to be a hard thing, especially now with the new designs. The set itself could have a new, decently detailed and bigger Probot, and perhaps on of those turrets used against the Falcon. Hoth Rebels - would include all-new updated troopers (likely we we have these in some form soon if those Echo Base rumours are true) x2, a commander (the guy with the moustache), and a Rebel pilot. Yeah, yeah, I've always hated pilots in battle packs, but it makes more sense here than anywhere else to me. The build, rather than making some random vehicle like they did before, they could design a wall/trench thing that could connect to each other, so as you collect these sets, you build a larger trench network. Endor Imperials - would include x2 updated Scout Troopers (either a new helmet mold, or a recycle of the Kasshyyk trooper helmet), x1 AT-ST driver, and x1 Imperial Officer (black uniform, with one of those new hats in black as well). The build would be simple. Just four speeder bikes. Sure, that may seem like a lot, but it could give LEGO a chanced to really do some tweaking and see how much better they could do with their design. Plus, you could use them for your Rebels as well. Endor Rebels - would include x2 of the new basic troopers (as seen in the new Tydirrium set), x1 of the commanders (same as the one in the Tydirrium), and the fourth fig I was either thinking could be an Ewok or Pruneface. I'd rather an Ewok, because that would also mean that the build could manly be a tree. Make a smallish tree and have it dump logs down onto the speeder bikes. So there you have them. It feels like its been a long while since we've gotten good, basic army builders for the Empire and the Alliance, so this would be a perfect chance. Please LEGO, do this!
  18. I gotta say, I wasn't completely sold on the Imperial Shuttle, but after seeing that review its definitely a must buy! That new Leia alone is worth it!
  19. All these new images are making me more thirsty for news about the sets. Judging from what we've seen so far, this is what I predict for the TFA minifigs: Rey: two versions in two different sets, one with her head wraps and goggles, and one with a new hair mould. Finn: two versions, one in a Stormie uniform, and one in his civilian clothes. Poe Dameron: so far we've only seen his pilot outfit, but I bet he'll have another costume. Kylo Ren: two versions, one with mask and hood and one with something else. Probably also more than one BB-8 spread throughout the sets. Other than the new main group, I think we'll get one new version of all the other characters, including Han, Chewie, Leia, Luke, as well as The General (Gleeson) and Captain Phasma (Christie).
  20. Wow.... so that new trailer... no words express my excitement. Everything looks so amazing. I'm still very curious and excited to see how LEGO will design BB-8. I'm really worried he's gonna be lame. Otherwise, everything will look amazing in LEGO form, particularly the chrome Stormie (and all the new Imperials for that matter). Does anyone believe there could be a chance that LEGO might have something ready to reveal at Celebration? Even some figs? Because that would truly be icing on what has already been an amazing cake of a day.
  21. I'm quite a lot more excited about these Constraction sets than I expected to be. It seems to me that Sir Von Lego may as well just send the Sith Infiltrator pic to the whole thread
  22. 180$ for what I'm guessing is the Falcon! Sweet Will of the Force! Better start saving! I'm hoping that at least two of the TFA sets are locations. My guess is we'll get a set of the Rebel Base filmed at Greenham Common and a set based on the Sith Fortress where Luke is located.
  23. I just took a good long look at both and you're right. The only changes they made to the new head is the eyes and mouth, which were improvements.
  24. One thing I gotta say I think is a mistake is completely changing Vader's face print. The 2014 version from the Star Destroyer was perfect except for the orange Sith eyes. But now, Vader's new eyes and mouth make him look like a child.
