  1. Unfortunate that there is no release date for the Gremlins and ET packs as they are the only ones I'm really interested in. Hopefully they won't make us wait till 2017.
  2. I simply can't believe all of the new properties being introduced into the game. It makes sense since the game is essentially an epic Warner Bros mash up. ET and Gizmo and Stripe are the standout newcomers simply because the detail on the figures is awesome. When should these be available in stores? I still don't own the game but I need those Minifigures.
  3. Has no one else noticed that the helmet of the supposed Death Star Gunner in the TIE Striker has 4 indents on the top part above the 'mouth'? They also seem to be wearing an armour chestplate similar to the Shoretrooper? I'm beginning ing to wonder if this isn't just a gunner like we've seen in A New Hope but perhaps a yet another new Imperial military personnel? Or perhaps it's Jyn in the Imperial uniform we see her wearing at the end of the teaser?
  4. I wonder if, and hope that, LEGO included an actual hair piece for Jyn. If the hat/hair hybrid is the only headpiece we get for her, that'll be a little annoying, seeing as there is t really a good hair piece to accurately represent her hair (seemingly short at the back while parted down the middle). The current standard long female ponytail piece (used in the CG image) is ok, but likely too long at the back. Maybe if LEGO is willing to release so many one-off molds for this wave they'd be generous and throw in a new hair piece for Jyn. Plus, it's always nice to get new female hair for variety.
  5. I seriously doubt both of these. In regard to the blasters, LEGO hit the jackpot with their mold they've been using since 2007 because it works well enough for so many of the basic blasters in the Star Wars universe. Yes, there's a lot of distinctions between all the weapons through the eras, but seeing as how LEGO hasn't done it yet, and we all know they could if they wanted to, I doubt they will, at least maybe for a while. As for the Stormies, I'd be quite upset as well if they changed the printing. However, I also doubt this would happen since they really nailed the details for all the printing so well that's changing it wouldn't be worth the cost.
  6. Ah yes, that's what it is, good eye. I really like how, since the TFA sets, LEGO has started using gunmetal grey to distinguish between good and bad weapons. All (or at least most) of the Rebel/hero weapons are gunmetal, while the Imperials all use standard black blasters (except Krennic of course). It's a nice touch, and I hope LEGO continues with it and even widens the variety of colours in the times to come.
  7. There's no reason that the new Death Star could have elements from both RO and the OT. The first one had stuff from ANH and ROTJ, and lots of minifigs to match accordingly. Also, I've noticed there's no Forest Whittaker or Mads Mikkelson characters in this wave, which for sure guarantees us a few more sets. Hopefully we'll see some more Rebellion based sets since this first wave is pretty light on the good guys in terms of vehicles. PS: I also just noticed it looks as if Baze's big gun has something attached to the lower part of the grip, seems as if it connects to his backpack, however we all know that that particular piece used for the base of his gun doesn't have such a connection. I wonder what that is.
  8. Holy new molds, Batman! Honestly though, I didn't expect LEGO to be so generous with new helmets and the like. Anyway, here are my thoughts: The Minifigures: I'm absolutely dazzled. The hero crew all look fantastic, and I like how they've included Jyn's poncho, however I hope her printing on her torso is similar to what it was in the CG pic they released a while back. The variety of basic Rebel ground troops is also very welcome. All the baddies are great, however I find it strange that there isn't a single regular Stormtrooper in the lot. Then again, this may mean LEGO with release them in a nice BP early 2017. Also, it seems like LEGO has a lot more brick built weaponry in these sets than I've seen before in Star Wars sets. Imperial Hover Tank: I wasn't expecting this to be the smallest set, but I suppose it makes sense. I'm curious about the interior, hopefully there'll be room for more than one driver. AT-ST: I wasn't expecting this at all and I'm profoundly happy. Hopefully LEGO has attempted another walking function similar to the 2009 iteration, of course improving it. Regardless, I'm very happy with the head of the walker. So good! TIE Striker: I like it, but I've also always been a bit cautious of odd TIE ships LEGO has done it the past ( the awful Defender and that weird tank form 2007 come to mind). I'll still likely get it, buts it's at the bottom of the list for me. U-Wing Gunship: While the look of the ship feels really out of place for Star Wars (at least that my intial impression of it), this is the stand out set. It's got Cassian, Jyn, one of the funny alien characters (they're names elude me) which are must haves. The ship itself, I'm not blown away, but I'm sure I like it more once we've seen more. Director Krinnic's Shuttle: What a beauty! This may easily be one of my favourite Imperial ships ever. Plus the minifig selection is awesome and so cunning (I see you LEGO, putting the badass enforcer droid in the biggest ship). The ship has a very unique shape to its body, so I wonder where the hatches are to open it up and access the interior. Overall, this is an amazing wave. However, I'm sure there's gonna be a few more sets come 2017, hopefully with Vader, Mon Mothma and maybe a Yavin 4 base? Time will tell. My biggest worry is the Canadian prices. If the tank, the smallest set, is 30$ US, then good lord these are gonna be expensive.
  9. Perhaps they're saving that fig for another village set with more buildings and villagers.
  10. Recently I picked up the Carbon Freezing Chamber and the Droid Escape Pod. I had a question for anyone who might have gotten two of the Carbon Freezing Chamber sets and tried to combine them to make a full circle. I'm hesitant to spend the cash on an extra set unless I know it'll work.
  11. It looks official enough to me, and I gotta say they look great. My main issues are with Diego Luna's and Wen Jiang's hairpieces. I can't think of another piece they could use for Diego Luna, it just doesn't look right. For Jiang, hands down Thorin's hairpiece would've been 100% better. It also looks like they've simply put clear goggles on Kanan's hairpiece for Riz Ahmed's character, which looks cool, But I doubt it'll hold. I'm in much greater anticipation now to see the new Deathtroopers and of course Ben Mendhelson's villain.
  12. You're right. I think my hopes got the best of me. I've always wanted to see Dantooine in the movies. Regardless, it looks like a very interesting new location, and hopefully we get at least one ground battle set, perhaps with Vader if the rumours are true.
  13. After seeing the phenomenal Rogue One trailer, I have no doubt that we will definitely be getting a new AT-AT this year, as well as hopefully many other Imperial vehicle. To be honest, I'd be contact with a exclusively Imperial wave of sets. The walker, that hover tank, the landing craft that gets blown up I strongly believe will all become sets. I also have a strong suspicion that the planet we see the most throughout the trailer, with the sand and palm trees, is none other than Dantooine. It looked like there was some good potential for a building set, like a busy street ambush or something. Also, hopefully when the eventual Rogue One battle packs roll around at Christmas we'll get some variety. While a Stormtrooper-only BP would be nice, I hope to get at least one Deathtrooper as well, along with three regular Stormies. It would be shame to see those new figs be stuck in only expensive sets.
  14. Why not a Malachor Sith Temple set? One big, almost castle sized set, with Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Vader and Maul. Yes, I know thats a bit of a dream set, but one large set may give LEGO the justification to make one-off molds and prints such as Maul's saber and perhaps and Jedi Temple Guard helmet, along with other things. Also, after seeing the finale, I'm even more curious about the face TLG will have used for the Rebels Vader fig coming this summer.
  15. Are we all 100% sure this is going to be the Death Star? Are we sure there's no chance that it's Starkiller Base? I mean, it would make sense. It's essentially the new Death Star, and it would be an interesting and quite striking model to have in a collection. I wouldn't be surprised if the designers at LEGO would want to take a crack at it just as they did with the Death Star. Plus it would be a chance for LEGO to release a bunch of unique versions of all the characters with slightly different printing or whatever and we'll all get really annoyed and then buy them anyway
  16. I still can't get over how badly they screwed up on that Tarkin minifig. Dark tan and grey? What character were they watching, because every time we see Tarkin he is clearly wearing a grey uniform and has silvery-white hair. The Doctor's hairpiece suits him, but in light grey. Also, I find that the Mandarin head from the Iron Man 3 sets is awesome for an OT Tarkin. This new Rebels figure is almost a deterrent for me in terms of getting the set.
  17. Could this new Death Star set perhaps have connections to Rogue One as well as the OT? It would make sense, since the Death Star plans are kinda the macguffin of the movie. Also, do we have any idea what face with be under Vader's helmet in the Rebels set? I doubt that LEGO would make a special Rebels version of Anakin's scarred face, but hopefully there will be something more than just a black head.
  18. The last time we saw a system scale AT-ST, it had that stupid dance walk function that never really worked. Although, the head was nicely done. If they do make one, lets hope its from a part of Return when Chewie isn't in control of the thing. TLG could also decide to be generous and perhaps include a tree with the swinging log trap and a few ewoks. Sure, it would bump up the price a ton, but it would be worth it.
  19. I hope we get TFA Luke with his hood. A new dark tan hood and cape would look really good, with a white torso and legs with tan and dark tan printing.
  20. 5 Rogue One sets is amazing. For some reason I feared LEGO would start skimping on waves for new films, similar to how they do things with the DC and Marvel sets. Hopefully the smallest set will include some good unique characters. I could imagine Felicity Jones' character and perhaps one of the rumoured Death Troopers or something. My main hopes is that we get new ANH era X-Wing and TIE Fighter sets, as well as maybe a location set for the Massasi Temple (although perhaps a set like that would make more sense in the Jan 2017 wave, much like Takodana this year). One thing I am definitely hoping for is some very unique alien characters. Neal Scanlan has said that they are gonna be developing very realistic alien effects, so hopefully that means some of the main characters will be non-human.
  21. Unkar Plutt will undoubtedly be accomplished in the same style as Chewie, or as mentioned above, the Gamorrean guards. Maz has a nice detailed head, so I have high hopes for both Unkar and Teedo. The thug, if he's in the set, will be the other thug who doesn't have the weird mouthpiece and goggles, looks more like a mummy. I wonder if Rey will get an alternate version of her Jakku outfit? Perhaps one face print could have dirt and sand on it from her scavenging, and maybe they could add some marks to her outfit, much like the polybag FN-2187 we've seen.
  22. Feels like forever since I've been here! I'm really surprised to hear that we're getting a Niima Outpost set. For some reason I was under the impression that there had been rumors of two TFA sets but that they had been truncated into one, which is the X-Wing. Glad that isn't the case, but I'm seeing some flaws in these sets. The Encounter on Jakku set really surprised me because I thought it was gonna be based on the attack on Tuanal village, and would include Poe, Lor Sann Tekka, and so forth, leaving space in the X-Wing set for a few dirrefnet pilots. However, the fact that we're getting Teedo, Unkar Plutt and another thug is awesome. Plus the Luggabeast sounds amazing. The X-Wing, on the other hand, seems like such a wasted opportunity. I was hoping to see Asty, Pava, PZ-4C0 and another crew member (maybe Vober Dand), and just use a droid head for the astromech. Making the X-Wing be based on the opening scene feels kinda wierd to me. Also, I wasn't aware that Diseny is already working on another animated series. Luckily, I've made the decision to focus my LEGO budget on TFA and Rogue One sets only for this year.
  23. A tasty new morsel of footage courtesy of ABC. Some new shots, the one that above all stands out to me is of Finn wielding the Skywalker lightsaber against what appears to be a Stormtrooper with an electrostaff! I'd sure love to get a set of whatever those ruins are that those Stormtroopers are defending against the oncoming X-Wings.
  24. Perhaps the Inquisitors that could have potentially still been active by the Battle of Endor (lets face it, Sidious was not stupid enough to abandon having backup Force-sensitives) were rebranded by Snoke and named the Knights of Ren. The rules of this new order of Dark Side users may differ from the Master/Apprentice relationship of the past, and be more of a every person for themselves, survival of the fittest type thing. So potentially Kylo has never received any formal training, but is perhaps the most successful of a group who all serve under a new Supreme Leader. Then again, this is all purely speculation. Lets just say that the idea that the Inquisitors could've somehow become the Knights of Ren isn't that far fetched an idea. If anyone remembers, back a year ago the first rumours of the plot stated that the villain of the film would be an Inquisitor or group of Inquisitors. That idea has obviously been abandoned to a certain extent from what we've seen now, but theres still a strong chance that aspects of that concept may exist in the film.
