  1. Oh, I know that. I was just saying how other than the AT-DP, if you get the Ghost, Phantom, TIE Prototype and Speeder Bikes, you have the whole cast of the show except for Kallus. Its just nice that LEGO was able to spread out the sets like that; makes it easier on the wallet
  2. Sorry for bringing up the Bo-Rifle thing again. It just really bothers me. Now that I'm all caught up with Rebels, I think I'm most excited for the TIE Advanced Prototype set and the Speeder Bikes set. Other than Kallus, they finish the collection of main heroes and villains from the show.
  3. So I've been getting caught up with Rebels, and one thing that really irks me about the LEGO sets is the lack of a Bo-Rifle mold. It simply makes no sense to me that they haven't made a special mold for both Zeb and Kallus. I still haven't been able to come up with a satisfying version using existing parts, and its getting to me more than it should
  4. Woah, that was awesome! Well, time to make a big red LEGO hammer!
  5. Has there even been any news about the summer wave? I don't recall hearing anything about it, and my guess is that they'll keep things under even tighter wraps due to the possibility of there being Force Awakens sets. Thats just a guess.
  6. Does anyone else feel like LEGO kinda messed up Asajj's colouring in the Azure Angel set? I've been looking at the images of the set, and I feel like they should've made her torso grey like her arms. In the show, during her duel with Anakin, her sleeves rip off and her bare arms are exposed, but given the fact that the torso of this fig is white (same as her skin), it makes it practically impossible to create that sort of affect. Just a slight design flaw in an otherwise perfect set.
  7. Last night I decided to re-watch the old 2003 Clone Wars cartoon, mainly due to my excitement for the new Azure Angel set coming in January. While I was watching, I started wondering what the chances would be for LEGO to release another set based on this old cartoon? In my opinion, there are two iconic parts from the cartoon: Anakin's duel with Ventress on Yavin 4 (which we now have covered as a set), and Obi-Wan's duel with Durge on Muunnilist. To me, if that scene were to be made into a set, it would actually be quite simple. The basic design could be similar to the upcoming Ezra's Speeder Bike set, with the set having two decently sized speeder bikes and three figs. Set Name: Speeder Bike Duel / Duel on Muunnilist Minifigs: Obi-Wan Kenobi (in his clone/Jedi robe hybrid armour, all it would require is new torso and leg prints), Captain Fordo (pretty much the existing dark red Clone Officer, with slightly different torso print that includes the shoulder/neck armour), and Durge (obviously a completely new fig, but would only require two new molds: armour to beef up his shoulders, chest and upper back, and his helmet, along with the new printing and whatnot) LEGO seems to be taking more chances with obscure sets these coming days (made up ROTS Geonosis troopers, the Azure Angel, etc.) and new molds for only one set isn't a tall order for Star Wars sets. It would be a fantastic companion set for the Azure Angel, and to me would give us two sets based on the most iconic moments from the old show. Please, LEGO! Make this a set!
  8. Eek, that beard on Ori doesn't look as good as I'd hoped. Thanks for posting the pic!
  9. Thats actually a really great idea. Could someone who has both figs post a pic of what it would look like? Alas, I only own Ori.
  10. Thats because pretty much 100% of the locations in that film we've already seen and been to in LOTR. DOS took us to completely uncharted territory as an audience, which I think finally set the tone for the Hobbit trilogy.
  11. But is it bad if the discussion is about any Hobbit set? We can safely assume that there likely won't be any more big LEGO Hobbit products, so why can't we let this thread become a general LEGO Hobbit thread, and just make sure the conversation doesn't derail from there. We now have a complete collection of 14 sets. I think we should be able to discuss all of them freely in one place, and then keep discussion about the films and the lore to the culture and multimedia thread.
  12. This is my new favourite gif ever. And yeah, Bolg is the only named character we don't have (other than Bard's daughters, who I would still love to see as figures, mainly because of the lack of female figs from this theme)
  13. WAIT, WHAT? Thats a thing? Where is this rumour from?
  14. Could you perhaps post a link? I can't find anything for some reason.
  15. How? How've you seen what he looks like, and heard his theme?
  16. Although, we will need that friggin awesome helmet at some point!
  17. Damn, that song got taken down before I could listen too it. Oh well, the movie is out soon anyway... Its truly a shame that LEGO can't do a CMF series for The Hobbit. I was thinking about it, and it would solve all of our issues in regards to the lack of important characters (Bolg, armoured Thraduil, the 13 Dwarves armoured, as well as basic soldiers and other secondary characters like Tilda and Sigrid and Alfrid). Anyway, I digress... Heres just a little story about how amazing the LEGO customer service is. I bought all four of the new sets, and a few days after building all of them, my Gwahir broke in an unfortunate accident. The clip that attaches one of the wings broke off. I called the LEGO customer service hotline, and without any trouble they've shipped a WHOLE NEW EAGLE! It makes sense, seeing as those figs and made in China and prepackaged altogether, but its still just so nice to know that LEGO is willing to replace any part, without a problem or need of payment.
  18. Honestly, I'd love to see a Bail Organa fig, and his appearance in Rebels could easily allow that.
  19. Also, Disney hasn't just completely disregarded the EU. Essentially, its an alternate universe. Fans can interpret however they want. The new movies and shows are the 'canon' universe, but anyone can modify canon for their own purposes ( i.e. personal 'head-canon'). Its a smart move by Disney. They haven't discredited the works of the EU, nor have they disregarded their importance to the majority of the fanbase. And as far as continuity is concerned, we should be thanking Disney for what they done. When Lucas was in control, everything was a mess. I remember reading something from an interview with Dave Filoni, and Filoni said that Lucas once told him "continuity is for wimps". If thats how Lucas viewed his universe, then I say good riddance. If he had stayed in control, the stories would've just gotten worse and more butchered. With the new team of people whose only job is to maintain continuity throughout all the mediums of storytelling that Disney will be using (films, tv, books, comics, video games, etc.), we as a group of fans finally have a single streamlined story, made easy to follow. To make blanket statements about Disney and how there will only be bad things to come is basically saying "This isn't going the way I personally wanted things to go, therefore its all garbage", which, to me, seems very close-minded. Thats just my two cents on the matter.
  20. The Phantom Menace is the perfect title for Episode 1 because it is directly referring to Sheev and how he's basically setting in motion all of the events of the films. Anyway, I digress. Personally, I love the title. It sounds good next to the others ( The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens ), and if the most recent rumours about the state of Luke during the film turn out to be true, then this title is very fitting. Heres the newest Luke rumour. As always with spoiler-ish stuff, read at your own risk. http://makingstarwars.net/2014/11/star-wars-episode-vii-state-luke-skywalker/ If this turns out to be true, then I'm totally on board. And knowing Hamill's work as the Joker and how amazing he was at portraying crazy, I have no doubts in his ability to portray a deranged Luke.
  21. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens http://makingstarwars.net/2014/11/star-wars-episode-vii-force-awakens/
  22. I believe that all the sour feelings people have with this trilogy will either be extinguished or validated, with my opinion being the former will be true. A lot of everything is gonna get payed off in this last movie, and I have no doubt it will be incredible.
  23. Even better, use a Pirate's hook so the blade feels like its more of a part of the arm. This also makes me happy that we have two Azog figs now. Keep one as is, and then mod one to make him look like his armoured version. Also, I picked up all four sets yesterday (it was my birthday, so it was especially nice the release landed right on the day). I've only built Witch-King Battle, but got all the figures out from each set. By far my favourites of the wave are Thorin (his crown piece is really frickin cool) and Galadriel (and she may be my favourite of all the Hobbit and LOTR figs; theres just something really spectacular about her, but I dunno what). And then there is Smaug. His awesomeness exceeded my expectations. The rubber wings are so brilliant, and the head (while the horns are slightly inaccurate) looks so cool and has so much personality. Easily the best molded creature LEGO has ever produced. One other small thing that I found to be really cool is that they gave Gwahir some dark brown printing around his neck to distinguish him for the regular Giant Eagles we've gotten before. While its not that big of a deal, it shows to me that LEGO does care. Its also just really cool that they specify him as Gwahir on the box art. On a related note, it was a complete fluke that Manu Bennett happened to be at my college for an event and he was signing stuff and taking pictures. He signed my The Battle of Five Armies set, so it makes that set all the more special. Here's a link to an image for proof: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legoman-1/LOTR/img_1566.jpg
  24. I was thinking that the Jango pistol piece would be the best option. Unfortunately, I'm not near most of my LEGO collection till saturday, so I'll test whatever comes to mind.
  25. Yeah, I currently have Zeb wielding one using one flick-fire and one lightsaber hilt with pink jewels, but I'm gonna do some tinkering this weekend and see what I come up with.
