  1. Thanks for the review! These figures look amazing, particularly Fili and Kili. Is it just me, or does Legolas's bow look like it's dark brown? It could be the lighting in the photo, and I doubt LEGO would randomly put dark brown bows in one set and normal brown ones in the Warg set for the orcs. Also, that hair is one of my favourite hairpieces now! Just a beautiful piece!
  2. I've seen a few walkthroughs online and honestly this game looks outrageously good! I can't wait to get my hands on this!
  3. I'm not sure if it is just my computer acting up, but Grogall's folders are still not yet public. Just find it kinda odd it's taking so long. Anyway, it seems like these sets are popping up all over the place. It's a shame I'll need to wait till December 8th to get these. Still, hopefully some reviews will begin to slowly appear!
  4. Thanks for the images Grogall! When can we expect to see the folders public?
  5. It is unfortunate, but it is also evident that LEGO intends to use this elf hairpiece for most elves, even those who don't wear quivers, which means that an elven hairpiece that would allow for a quiver would look strange on elves who don't have them. Unless LEGO is to make a new elven hairpiece, we'll unfortunately have to make do with the hair they have right now.
  6. That tv spot was really good. It showed some of the conflict between Thorin and Bilbo, and it looks like PJ will have it be very much in the forefront of the story. On a more LEGO related note, do people who have some of the sets plan on making in depth reviews?
  7. I was wondering about the sword holder. It's a shame. It would have been really cool if Fili could wear his two swords on his back and Kili could have his quiver and bow. Regardless, this new hair piece will become very popular with Castle fans. Glad LEGO made it.
  8. I'm pretty sure it works with a quiver. Thorin shares the same hair as Fili and Kili and they both have quivers on their backs.
  9. Azog was Bolg's father who was killed in the Battle of Azanulbizar on the eastern gates of Moria. So, Bolg was therefore a Moria orc, but his appearance is so different from those seen in LOTR that the connection no longer makes sense. Also, I hope the Warg scene is just as exciting as this!
  10. I was under the impression that the goblins of Goblinetown under the GG's rule were not connected to Bolg and his folk of the north. It's actually quite confusing, since in the book Bolg is the Lord of Moria, yet he looks nothing like the Moria orcs we saw in LOTR. Plus, Yazneg and his hunters look different from Bolg but they could be connected, which seems strange since in the book the Wargs and orcs chase the dwarves for revenge over the GG's death. The connections between all the different types of orcs is something I'm eagerly waiting to have explained more thoroughly in the Hobbit films, cause right now I'm confused. Either way, I would like to see some more Goblintown goblins and more plain orcs. I've been looking at my LOTR armies, and I'm getting kinda sick of Uruks and how they look so militarized and cloned. Some more wild looking orcs are much needed to balance out the ranks of the forces of evil. Also, I believe the actor's name is Kiran Shah, and he was the scale double for Frodo in LOTR and I think Bilbo for The Hobbit.
  11. Just found some more pictures of the goblins and orcs from the movie. Honestly, the goblins are absolutely repulsive. Goblins http://cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/IoMhX.jpg http://cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/L8o7W.jpg And orcs http://cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/zrtBN.jpg It's a shame LEGO didn't go to a little more effort to make the orcs look distinguishable from the Mordor orcs, but still, they're cool. And I believe that the goblin is the one picture that has the tiny deformed legs is the Scribe. LEGO has really had to dial down the ugly to make more kid-friendly figures.
  12. Yeah, I'm tempted to just not use the armour, but I'm afraid he'll look a little bare without it. I feel like since he is the first named orc fig LEGO is releasing, Yazneg is like a sort of orc captain and therefore needs his armour to distinguish him within the ranks. (although I'm pretty sure that the two tall goblins in the Goblintown set are the two that had their pictures released from the movie a few days ago. One has chains while the other has just ropes and stuff. And the GG doesn't count as a normal orc to me). Also, on a side note, does anyone else believe that Yazneg may be Bolg's second in command? Much like Gothmog to the Witch-King. I'm interested to see what Yazneg's role is and if he plays a part any further than leading the Warg Riders.
  13. I got one off of eBay for about $30. It seems steep, but the fig is worth it because 1) it won't likely be made again, and 2) it has amazing printing and the elf sword and dark elf hair is great. And it's Elrond! How can you not have the Lord of Imladris in your LOTR collection!
  14. Interesting. It looks like the armour is just tan, unprinted Skellie armour from the Ninjago theme. Kinda upsetting. I'm not a huge fan of the armour, and I feel like it covers up what seems like a really neat chest print. Still, thanks for the pic.
  15. The Clone Wars Barriss Offee. I used her cape on Gimli, and it looks really good. I got the Elrond fig which came with a short blue cape as well, so I gave Elrond a dark green cape and plan on giving the blue one to Thorin when I get him. But yeah, the Clone Wars set with Barriss Offee has the cape.
  16. I think I'm gonna give Thorin a blue cape and a black quiver. Also, that hairpiece is just amazing! Fili's would be great for Eomer, and if they made a light grey version it would be perfect for Gandalf without his hat. Any chance we could get some pics of Yazneg? I'm interested to see what his tan armour thing looks like, and what his back printing is like as well.
  17. Hawkman, since you have the Warg set, could you possibly take a few pictures of the Wargs and figures?
  18. Perhaps soon we'll see an in depth review of the Warg set. I'd love to see the Wargs, Dwarves and Yazneg in detail.
  19. Well, if people are upset with the goblins, here is a link to some images just released, which give us a good idea of what these guys look like. They sure are the ugliest orcs in all of PJ's movies. http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/11/9/four-new-photos-from-the-hobbit-featuring-goblins-and-trolls.html
  20. The ones that are seen on the boxart are the ones we'll get. The silver hilted ones in the CG image are a colouring mistake made by the CG artists. Her daggers are exactly the same as the Dagger of Time from the Prince of Persia theme.

    Canadian Eh?

For anyone who is interested, I was at the Sherway store earlier today and found out that the Hobbit sets should be appearing on shelves within the first week of December. I know this is somewhat old news, but it's still good to have proper confirmation.
  22. Found a preview for the first disc of the Hobbit Special Addiction soundtrack. It has about 1 minute per song. Sounds really good, but I can hear a lot of similarities between this and Howard Shore's last score, Hugo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiuLvc-OeGo Still, it sounds really good, and I love the dwarves singing the Things that Bilbo Baggins Hates song!
  23. I don't feel that an invisible Frodo is necessary. Look at the picture from the Barrel Escape set. Bilbo is clearly meant to be wearing the Ring, but they didn't go to the bother of making a special figure, because people can use their imagination with the figs. Sure, an invisible Ring bearer fig would be an awesome collectible, but I doubt a kid playing with their figures would really care. They would just pop the Ring on and off the characters hand.
  24. Actually, Haldir is a elf of Lorien. The reason when he arrives at Helm's Deep he says "I bring word from Lord Elrond of Rivendell" is because Elrond and Galadriel communicated telepathically and came to the conclusion to aid the men of Rohan. It was Lothlorien who sent the army. So as of right now, we have representations from each major elven location in Middle-Earth, just not in army sizes.
  25. Just got my Elrond fig in the mail today! He is amazing! Makes me really excited for more elves from the Hobbit sets!
