I found it a bit odd that no one had started a topic for this movie yet, so I decided I would make one! I'm really excited for this movie! I've never really read comics that much, but I've always been a fan of comic book movies, and Superman is probably my favourite superhero from theDC universe. I really feel like the casting for this film is perfect, except for Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Also, Hans Zimmer is doing the music, which I can't wait for! Anyway, let the discussing begin!

That's what I was thinking. Boromir's death seems too important to make silly. Lurtz's death can be viewed in a lighter way since he actually has parts taken off, so it could be funny.

I actually think they did a good job on all of the alternate faces, except for two. Legolas's angry face doesn't really suit him since his mouth is open. It would have been better if he looked angry but had his mouth closed. And Théoden's happy face just looks too happy. His angry face is perfect, but they should have gone with something more like Borormir's face for the other one. It would have suited Théoden better since he never really smiles that much.

Yeah, they'll most likely recycle that Merry face for that set. Also, I find that angry face works well if you want to show him biting a piece of food.

I don't think canceled is the right word, since the license is for both LOTR and The Hobbit. But, I could see LOTR sets going on hiatus forthe release of The Hobbit sets, and same for the reverse situation. I'm glad The Hobbit is getting its own site. It won't then remove attention from LOTR. It's like how the Superheroes theme gets a Marvel site and a DC site.

Maybe they will unveil the character posters that were at SDCC as well. We could end up seeing all the dwarves that way.

That's amazing! Great job! I wold say that this is at a tie for most emotional FOTR scene with Boromir's death and redemption. Again, amazing work! A very interesting way to interpret a great scene!

That's really awesome! I attempted making a Batpod but it just turned out horrible. Do you think you could make some sort of instructions? I would just like to build this for my own collection.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Fives replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I sense these figs are just from the January/Winter wave. I think we have yet to see what will be in store for next summer. -
When you try to play as a character, click on the character's face rather than the play button.

I doubt it's wishful thinking that it's Orcrist. Besides Sting, it is the major sword of the film, since it doesn't seem Glamdring will get a new mold (although that would be nice to have all three glowing swords with unique molds).

These are awesome! Really good job! One thing you could do would be to add some lines and wrinkles to give more detail to their faces. Otherwise, these are fantastic! Hopefully you'll make more (Lannisters )

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Fives replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Anyone else a little disappointed that a TDKR Catwoman wasn't revealed at Comic-Con? I find it frustrating that LEGO plans to release Batman, Bane and Gordon, but no Catwoman. I feel like there is a lack of completion on TLG's part for not including all of the major characters from the film. Also, knowing that TLG has the rights to Nolan's films, do you think it would be possible to see sets based of Batman Begins or TDK? I would love at least one set from TDK based on the chase scene when Joker had the bazooka. The set could have the truck Joker was in, with him in the back with a bazooka and a henchman driving; the truck that Harvey Dent was in, with his minifigure having two expressions: normal and post-burning. Finally, the Tumbler could be included with Batman. I think it would be a great set that would be a relatively inexpensive way to get Batman and the Tumbler and both villains from TDK. It would be great if LEGO did this. -
Just saw The Amazing Spider-Man. It was awesome! It was, in my opinion, WAY better than Raimi's films. Toby Macguire never seemed like a good Peter Parker, but Andrew Garfield was perfect! And who doesn't love Emma Stone ! Marvel Studios needs to consolidate all of their licenses to one company and start cranking thess movies out fast! I would live to see Andrew Garfiled as Spidey in an Avengers movie!

I don't think deskp was making a comment on his age, but rather his outfit. The fig that can be seen on LEGO's website is wearing armor, which Elrond only wore during the Battle of Dagorlad, which means that it isn't a hint at a Rivendell set, but rather a Last Alliance set. Also, I would like to know what that merged topic was about.

I think, with the news of the Bag End set, we need to see a big exclusive Shire. The set could be based on FOTR, with the Green Dragon Inn as the main building, styled similarly to Bag End in that it seems closed from the front, but has an open back for playability. Then, the rest of the set could be Bilbo's Party. The set could have the big tent, three big tables, the barrels Bilbo makes his speech on (with maybe a feature where he can fall into a barrel, seeming like he has disappeared). Also, the big party tree with all of the lanterns could be the second big building component of the set. The figures could include Frodo in casual clothes (something different from Gandalf Arrives), Sam in casual clothes, Merry and Pippin with alternate scared faces that are blacked by the shooting of the firework, Old Bilbo, Rosie Cotton, Gandalf, and a generic male and female Hobbit.

If the dwarves were portrayed in the movie as they are in the book no one would be able to tell them apart, except Thorin. In the book, the only differences between the dwarves are some of their skills, and Bombur's weight. The way they have been designed for the film makes them a lot more distinguishable from each other. Sure, at first, I thought they looked really bad and wouldn't really fit into he Middle-Earth that PJ created in LOTR. But now, I think they look awesome, and can't wait to see their LEGO versions in detail.

It has been confirmed that The Hobbit sets will be released December 1st, to coincide with the December 14th release of the film.

When is that?

I had to say Bane and Fury. I love the Nolan films, and Bane just looks so epic! The only fig I could say would be better would be a TDK Joker. And I picked Fury cause then the Avengers, to me, will be complete.

I actually like the open back. It's make it easy to access the inside, like the Burrow from Harry Potter. Also, look at all that food! A giant pretzel!

The more I look at the Bag End set, the more I find myself blown away! When I first saw the pic, I didn't feel like I was looking at a set, but rather a really good MOC. I was surprised when so many people were saying how amazing the set looks, and it dawned on me that the reason is it looks like a MOC. Compared to any other set in the LOTR wave, this Bag End looks like it could have been made by a fan rather than be an official product! I think that this set will be the best selling set from The Hobbit wave, if not of all of the Middle-Earth sets so far!

Holy crap! That Rancor is amazing! By far the best LEGO creature (yes, in all themes)! I love that the Palace can sit onto the Pit, but isn't attached. Also, the Rancor Keeper's staff looks to have some new interesting pieces on either end of it. Looks like the bar slides into one end, and there is a clip on the other end so things can be attached. Makes me think of Tusken Raider gaffi sticks!

They were used for the handles of Gimli's short axes in the Moria and Helm's Deep sets.
