Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Fives replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Even Piell survived Order 66, but George Lucas decided to kill him off during the CW, which rendered the other story non-canon. George Lucas could alter Ventress's story as much as he wants. -
I actually like the new wargs. They still have the essence of the LOTR versions, but have more of the dog-like features that the others lack. I feel like a decent explanation for this difference in type of wargs could just be that the ones from LOTR were altered due to Saruman's genetic experiments, whereas these more wild wargs were never exposed to that. I really can't wait to see Tauriel as a minifig, but I'm a little unsure about Legolas's new outfit. Unless this costume is just for the Battle of Five Armies, then I'll be fine with it. I really don't want to see Legolas wearing armour the whole time. On the plus side, this means that the Legolas fig will be different from the LOTR one, and perhaps his armour can be an indication of how the Mirkwood elven soldiers will look.

Wait, so Smeagol, Beregond and all those other awesome characters are only on the Xbox and PS3? Why is it that the Wii doesn't get some decent unlockable content for its LEGO games. Also, I think that they mean Second Age Sauron as in Sauron as he appears during the battle of Dagorlad at the end of the Second Age. They aren't referring to his appearance as Annatar, the Giver of Gifts.

I think Oin looks really good! I still think that, of the dwarves that have been revealed so far, Balin is my favourite. About his beard, it could be possible that, seeing as it is a new piece that has two colours, it could be a preliminary paint job, and the final version may be more grey than white. Either way, I can't wait for these sets to come out!

I'm unsure if this has been mentioned, but just because the Yoda fig is in a CW set doesn't mean there can't be a redesign. Based on the trailer for season 5 Yoda is getting a rather nice, more realistic update, with hair that is more organized and better facial features that resemble the film version more. Could we not see this version, possibly in a more proper olive green colour, in the new AT-RT set? Also, even though the last time we got the AT-RT was a lame throwaway thing in the Turbo Tank, this upcoming set could have more substance to it, like the original AT-RT set from 2005. Even if it is a CW fig, a new Yoda in olive green would be most welcome by me, since now that they have that colour to use, sand green just isn't quite right. Now, if I'm not mistaken, the Umbaran set that has been announced is the walker thing. Although this will be cool, I would have much preferred the worm like tank they had. It would have been very interesting to see LEGO tackle the design of such an obscure vehicle. But, if this Umbaran set has Fives, I'll be happy regardless of what they do.

Yesterday I picked up the Striker-class fighter from the Sherway Gardens LEGO store. I must say that in both design and swooshability it is by far my favourite starfighter LEGO has yet released. Also, the figures are fantastic. The droid is really well built and has lots of nice details, and Jace Malcolm is plain awesome. Now I need to get the Fury-class ship, and when the time comes, the OR battle pack.

The BARC speeder sounds really promising. I have a feeling that it will be based on the episode with the Togruta prisoners (the name of the episode itself escapes me), which means we will get a new BARC with the side car with turret. And for $30 I wouldn't be surprised if the commando droids get speeders as well.

Any set as big as the Petranaki Arena would need to wait for the summer wave. Still, I'm upset they completely left out any AOTC sets. I hope the summer wave is all AOTC, minus maybe one or two OT, with no CW. We have slowly been getting remakes of all the old PT characters, but AOTC is the one that needs it most, since they only did a few sets when the movie was released the first time. As much as all these sets sound interesting, I'll probably only get the Rancor Pit, Z-95 (for Krell), and the BPs.

Got the Skiff last week and picked up Jabba's Palace yesterday. Both are absolutely fantastic sets! The figures are all amazing (Jabba, Boushh, Gamorrean Guard and Landon in particular), and I love how they included Harrison Ford's chin scar on Han's face. Amazing detail! I really can't wait for the Rancor set to really finish off the palace.

I just rewatched the video and there isn't blood, just dirt. When the Uruk falls and hits the ground, he looks over to the other Uruk who bends down to help him. His eyes are blinking, indicating he didn't really die. I really think the only deaths that need to be shown are Boromir's and Theoden's, since they are rather major characters whose deaths seriously affect other characters in the story, particularly Denethor and Faramir. Speaking of that, I wonder how they will tackle the insanity of Denethor and his hate of Faramir. It's a rather dark, sad part of ROTK, and it will be interesting to see how they try to make it fit within the LEGO game style.

I'm glad to hear we're getting Pong Krell it what sounds to be a Z-95 set. I really hope it is a smallish set with just Krell, Rex (Phase 2) and Fives (Phase 2) since they are the only figures I really want from that story arc. I'm excited to see how they do Krell. It will most likely be done similar to the four armed Garmadon from Ninjago, but since Krell's head is so large and strangely shaped compared to a traditional LEGO head they may need to do something more unique. Also, the release of this set could indicate that LEGO is switching over to Phase 2 clones for CW sets from now on. EDIT: I guess the rumor list got posted as I was writing the above comments. Hmmm... Krell isn't mentioned with the Headhunter? That's either a mistake or we aren't getting him. As for the other sets, the BPs sound really appealing, particularly the Old Republic one. Also, it will be nice to get Droidekas in a BP for once. The Kamino Planet set is a major waste of an opportunity to make a Kaminoan fig. Shame on TLG. As for the rest of the sets, unless the set with Yoda is from AOTC (not likely) then it is just another waste of a set. The A-Wing has a better selection of figs than I expected, but I don't really need another Ackbar or Han. The Rancor Pit is definitely the star set of the wave.

That video was amazing! This has definitely convinced me that the diologue is a major improvement over past games. It really seems like they are using it to enhance the story rather than just as a fun extra bit, which is really great! Also, I hope we see elven hair/helm pieces like thos is the game. It's the only good way to accomplish the Lorien elven soldier look.
-
Galadriel looks really great! My only concern is that in past LEGO games characters who haven't been made into a minifig yet get designed for the game, but that design is not always how they will look in a proper set. As for Gandalf though, I feel as if that could be more possible since the beard/hair combo piece could easily be used for a Saruman fig as well.

I've used six, three on one side of the culvert, three on the other side. I think it looks really good, and it gives lots of space for soldiers to stand on guard.

I didn't know these sorts of books existed, but this will be extremely helpful for me. I've always had a tendency to make rather bland castles, but this book could really give me some great ideas and techniques.
-
They could appear in an Osgiliath set, and possibly in some Hobbit sets based around Dol Guldur, since Khamul kinda took control of that fortress during the War of the Ring, he could be there during Sauron's reign as the Necromancer.
-
Technically Slave 1 with a landing platform could refer to either AOTC or ESB, and we did get the Palpy's Arrest, so it's quite possible.
-
In the books he did have darker hair. I, having read the books many years after the films were released, can only imagine the elves of Imladris having darker hair, while the elves of Lorien and Mirkwood have lighter hair.
-
Perhaps, rather than having an actual character, they could just have a Gondor soldier and a Guard of the Fountain Court. That way, with multiples of one set you don't end up with multiples of a specific character.

A Dr. Doom fig is coming out next year. He has a dark green cape and hood, which would be way more fitting than black.

A brick film would be amazing, but the way I see it is that LEGO got the rights to all of the dialogue, music, sound effects and so on to make the video game. So, if they have access to all that, they could just remake the films, shot for shot, and remove the game side of things. It would be absolutely amazing, although it would take a long time for them to design everything, make all the characters (with alternate outfits) as LEGO Minifigs, and get all the shots to look as close to the live action films as possible. In the end, it would not be a smart idea for LEGO to embark on such a project, but it would be ridiculously awesome nonetheless.

I've just been rewatching the LOTR films, and it got me thinking: wouldn't it be really cool if LEGO hired a company and got the rights to make the LOTR trilogy, shot for shot, as animated LEGO films? I think it would be really cool to be able to watch the three LOTR extended editions as LEGO films. It's a shame that this game will unlikely cover a lot of great scenes.

I think I just realized why the gold sword looks kinda bad with Elrond. Not only is there too much gold on the fig as a whole, but his blue cape, silver chain mail neck guard, and darker hair would just looked better witha silver sword. I took a look at my Haldir fig, and I think he would look great with a gold sword, since he's blonde and has a lot of dark red, which, to me, compliments the gold in his armour. Now I really hope that we'll see silver elven blades in the future. That way I can give Elrond the silver sword he deserves, and Haldir the gold one which is fitting for him.

I get that. I guess my question wasn't clear. Will, with the pre order, the fig ship at the time the game ships, likely in October, or will I get the fig earlier than the game? I'm a little impatient, and the idea of having to wait till almost Novermber for this amazing fig is a little sad.
-
I'm unsure how it worked with the LEGO Batman 2 Lex pre order exclusive, but will the figs hip before the game or will it ship with the game.
