  1. Hello! It's a perfect little scene. You can praise every aspect of it. I especially like the snow technique and the traces in the deep snow of the blue-clothed Rebel in particular. Having lots of snow here for several weeks now, a path in the snow exactly looks like you built it with the trans clear plates in between. Very well done! ~ Cheers, ~ Christopher
  2. ? Confused I am a little. Although not seen together in the movies, there exists clear data for the length of both ships. Thank you! And no worries, bricking will go on. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  3. Hello! I am not familiar with the movie, nor the gags in the movie, but for me it looks as if the traffic light was assembled the wrong way. I thought it was an international convention that red was on top and green on the bottom? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello! Those 1x2 clear plates are my favourite detail! Always fond of transparent elements I am when I see them in excellent use. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello! Thank you for the nice comments everyone! I am glad you liked the shrinked down version of the Acclamator. It was really great I could get my hands on those 2 wide slopes as the construction with the normal 1x1x2/3 slopes would not have been possible. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  6. Hello, and all the best wishes from me too! I was not present a lot today, that's why I'm late. I guess you buy enough LEGO® during the year anway, so there was place for other and more important things today. All the best, ~ Christopher
  7. Hello! Thank you for your comments! Regarding the movies, I also like parts one and two best. Part three was okay. And about part four I don't want to talk about. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  8. Hello dear community! Today it's a special pleasure for me to give something back to this great community here! Last month I presented the capital ships of the Republic Fleet to you. Among them the Acclamator Assault Ship and the Venator Attack Cruiser. During the following discussion I was kind of caught on the hop... Having had built the Acclamator 2 years before the Acclamator, I of course didn't know there would be a Venator in the third movie, so I just built it in the size that allowed for the most details... Today - being three weeks later - you'll see the outcome of this little challange. They're roughly to scale with each other and look quite nicely together. Hence let's start with the group image first. And here are some more detail view of the little companion of the Venator. All images (including the above) are of course links to the entire image gallery and building instructions. See all images and instructions here: Mini Acclamator and Venator to scale with each other on BrickShelf Without this community, I probably would not have taken the effort to design a second Acclamator. So, thank you all for the ongoing support! See you around, ~ yours Christopher
  9. Hello! This is actually one of the few sets I own, and the nice reviw reminds me how great it is! I even prefer it ove the newer model. This one here is LEGO® like in older days. Shape built by many smaller pieces, enough studs to still define it as LEGO®, and - as already mentioned by Big Cam - many actually good alternative builds. Great model! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Hello! That's quite a big fig. From what I can see it's quite movable. Head is turning, arms and hands too. Can he move the legs, too? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  11. Hello, and thank you for the comments. See you around, ~ Christopher
  12. Hello! As a fan of ships and boats, I admire the technique to create a boat hull with those curved wedges. They give a perfect shape. The minifigure legs for the bridge are also a very nice idea. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  13. Hello! A great cockpit you're showing here! Also the use of vehicle pieces like steering wheels, mudguards and motor blocks for a spaceship is very original. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello! This is a great scene with an excellent choice of parts. I can see at least four different types of fences. These are versatile pieces not only for regular fence duty, and you used them very well! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello! It's very brutal but it does justice to the cruelty of this event and war in general. My favourite detail is the spout in the water next to the landing ship caused by a bullet hitting the water. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello! The photographing is excellent with the blurry train resembling its movement. I hope he manages to get back his hat in the end. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  17. Hello! In the city where I live, we have indeed such flatbed fire trucks. There are a number of module containers for different mission profiles. Depending what type of container you need you just load it onto the truck and have a specialized emergency truck. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  18. Hello! It's very nice! Reminds me to those lovely little shops and houses on 8x16 baseplates which I always like to include in my town layouts. I would have bought this one for my town! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! Of course tiles are a great invention. I wouldn't like to build without them, and I don't hesitate using them when it benefits to the design. Especially when building st small scale it can happen that some models come out completely studless, also due to the use of many small slopes which don't have studs either. On the other hand, some greebly-rich designs require the studs, and can't be build without them. If we regard the stud in a bigger context, the stud is what makes our favourite construction toy different from many other smooth building and collecting toys. Unfortunately there appear more and more new big and curved/smooth pieces every year. Not only do they decrease the creativity, but I also fear that one day there will only be a few curved elements to be put together in order to build up a set. But I want original Lego®. I want the stud. So, I'd say, don't fear the stud. Give it a chance. There are many examples of where studs improve the design. Think of all the newer exclusive sets with the new house facades where the stud is part of the ornaments for example. Build with a smile err stud. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! These are pretty impressive! It's clearly superiro to all official B-Wing designs. Especially as your center wing is fully symmetrical with studs on both sides. Among my favourite details - although there are many more excellent details to discover - are the little engines for which you used those old rigid space wheels. Very well done! ~ Christopher
  21. Hello, and thank you again for the further comments! Now it's time to get inspired for more models. See you soon, ~ Christopher
  22. Hello everybody! In my mission to keep up the great versatility in this forum, I am glad to present you two models from the movie "The Terminator" from 1984 to you. They belong to the category of the Non-Humanoid Hunter Killers. They are also roughly to scale with each other. The imitated movie poster shows what you'll see in this topic. -------------------- Let's start with the Aerial Hunter Killer. It features the bent shape like the originial. You can adjust the fins, cannon and headlights to your purposes. The engines also rotate to give it its superior maneuverability. -------------------- Tracked to the ground is the Hunter Killer Tank. It has the face-like head with its many lights you can also see in the movie. Body and head can rotate so that you can turn it in every desired direction. -------------------- As soon as BrickShelf has been moderated, I will update this topic with the links to the galleries and instructions. Meanwhile you can also access the instructions via my humble homepage. With that I am done here. Thank you for your time and interest. Enjoy your sunday! ~ Christopher
  23. Hello! The micro 4x4 vignettes for the minifigures are a really nice idea. Although I don't like the new Space Police theme that much you presented its figures nicely. I like the Blackton ship better as it's one of the series of my youth. The colour scheme looks right with the correct relation of black and white. It would be great if you could remove the cockpit section like you can do for most Blacktron sets. Okay, allow me to be very picky now: Please remove the lime green 1x1 round tile and replace it with a trans neon green one. It's disturbing the classic Blacktron look. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. You're welcome! I am glad you like and enjoy it. See you around, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello! As I don't have many sets, the choice iw quite easy. It's the huge 10030 UCS Star Destroyer for me. While not particularly difficult to build it was exhausting nonetheless because of the tremendously thick instruction booklet. Cheers, ~ Christopher
