1935 Bentley 3½ Litre Oxborrow & Fuller Continental Open Tourer
Legostein replied to TheHammer's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hello! Well, right. You have a plan. You are motivated. You should go an build it! Have fun building, ~ Christopher -
Hello again everybody! The Designer Set 4098: High Flyers was made to build various flying machines. If you want to fly higher, you can also do this with this set. The parts variety is also suitable to build space ships. Last week we had a look at Plo Koon's Starfighter built with pieces of this set only. Today's model is a CIS Vulture Droid as seen in the Clone Wars animated TV series. It is a bit smaller and less complex as the one last week, but continuing in the spirit of the set's original intention, there are models of all building levels that can be build with it. That's it for today! Have a good start into the new week! ~ Christopher

MOC: Trapped In The Trash Compactor (complete)
Legostein replied to M<0><0<DSWIM's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hello! It's great to see you added the Dianoga garbage monster. Another thing that I find remarkable is the slope technique for Chewbacca's arms to represent the long wild fur there. Works perfectly! Cheers, ~ Christopher -
Hello everybody! This is one of those rare moments where I break out of my minimised world where I usually hide in. The contest made me curious and I wondered if I could contribute something. So I went to the toy store and got two copies of City Set 8402: Sports Car / Car Breakdown (reference link). After buying some additional small Atlantis sets I was able to "translate" the road layout into an underwater scene. You will discover some familar elements of the original set and some slightly modified elements to fullfill the underwater role. It's only a small set but I hope it meets your expectations. That's my entry. It's the first building contest for me, and I admit it was much fun building this little scene! Have a great week-end, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody! Thank you for the nice comments! How realistic a model turns out depends strongly on the variety of parts available, and this set has less than 50 which are focused on car building. I still find it astounding that it was possible at all to turn this racer into an airspeeder at all. After all, I just bought the set because of its colour. I walked into the store, saw it's lime green and thought "... it's lime green, let's try a Zam airspeeder out of that..." Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody! Along my mission to provide Star Wars models out of non-Star-Wars-sets to the community, I'd like to present another little model to you. It's built out of the Tiny Turbos Set 8302 - "Rod Rider" of the Racers series. It's available new for only 5.99 EUR / 4.99 GBP / 5.99 USD. With almost all of the 48 pieces conatained in this set you can build a mini version of Zam Wesell's airspeeder from the Coruscant chase in Episode II - Attack of the Clones. It might be a bit bulky, but I hope you'll recognise it. >>> Click here for building instructions <<< That's it for today! Have a happy ending of the week! ~ Christopher

Hello! That's a simply fantastic scene from the movie! I always enjoy original scenes, and one day we'll be able to make the entire saga with our own scenes. The majesty and elegance provided by our scene is a perfect adaption from the movie. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! That's a fantastic re-organisation of the forum index. It's an entire world to discover there and represents the versatility of this special forum very well. A pleasure to browse through! Cheers, ~ Chris -
Hello! That's a real masterpiece again, Ralph! Your building style is truly unique. The way the wings are formed and finally bent up to the outside by constantly adding another layer of plates works perfectly. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello, no worries, that happens quite regularly recently. I always hope that this is for maintenance reasons. So, relax, take some time for building, and have a look again later. Usually it then works again. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody! Today I'd like to present a different version of Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter to you. As many of you might know, Plo Koon flies a blue/white Delta-7B Aethersprite-class Light Interceptor, named "Blade of Dorin". An official LEGO® set has been released last year (set 8093). Seven years earlier, LEGO® released a completely different set of the "Designers" line, set 4098 High Flyers, which many of you might own already. What I did not realise until recently is that you can build a pretty nice Plo Koon Jedi Starfighter only using bricks from set 4098! Although it's smaller than the LEGO® version it can even seat a minifigure to pilot it. I am sorry that there was no appropriate option for adding an astromech droid, but all other essential details should be there. Building instructions finally online! That's it for today. Instruction link (if wanted) will be added once BrickShelf updated. Thank you for stepping by and enjoy your sunday! ~ Christopher

Hello! That's a great owl sculpture! The way you used those large wedges above the eyes makes it instantly recognisable as an owl. The entire concept idea is fantastic as well! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody! Today I'd like to share a new Creator Alternate Build with you. Among the newest creator sets is set 5764 - Rescue Robot (reference link). It contains 148 pieces and costs 14.99 EUR / 13.99 GBP / 16.99 USD. I struggled a long time to find something appropriate to build out of this brick assortment, but eventually a lovely coastside diorama had formed. The entire diorama uses 130 pieces. -------------------- Model #1: The Lighthouse Pieces: 44 Model Info: This was the first model built out of the set's pieces. Model #2: The Cutter Pieces: 65 Model Info: Many pieces were left, resulting in a compact fishing cutter. Model #3: The Submarine Pieces: 4 Model Info: Even the TEHCNIC parts were applied for something useful. Model #4: The Dragon Pieces: 17 Model Info: This cute dragon was made out of the leftover pieces. -------------------- Building instructions finally online! -------------------- With that I am done for now. Instructions available as soon as BrickShelf decides to update. Thanks for your time and interest! See you around, yours Christopher.

Hello! Thanks again for your interest and comments. You figured out some points of my posting and building behaviour here... I sometimes try to make the reader curious with an unexpected title. Indeed, all my alternate builds use a display stand made of left-over bricks of the original set. Cheers, ~ Christopher -
