I am jealous Where do you guys usually find LEGO lots like that? I've tried ebay and yard sales but ebay's usually overpriced and I rarely ever find LEGO at yard sales.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
Zoshi replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Some of my favorites from the ones I own- And my favorite favorites. -
7879 Echo Base, Jedi T-6 Shuttle, 8098 Turbo Tank and the Ghost seem to get a lot of hate but I've always liked them

I was thinking of getting it, but at $40 maybe not… definitely looks more like a $30 set. Ras looks cool, but Talia is disappointing… that female hairpiece is getting waaaayy overused

What about the old Spongebob sets? I have the Krusty Krab Adventures set and it's got to be my least favorite that I own… It's just a frame resembling the Krusty Krab and I don't understand why more detail seemingly went into the vehicle than the actual Krusty Krab. However, I've seen some Spongebob sets that look good, like Spongebob's pineapple house.

College homework. Not so much procrastination as taking a break… from… not doing it… yeaaahhh I could do it now, but my book is way over there, on the other side of the room... Ah well, there's always tomorrow. Unless the earth explodes or something, in which case not having my homework would be the least of my worries.

They're multiplying… soon the reign of the go-carts will be upon us and we will have to bow before our flame-throwing overlords...

Wait, those things were from Lego? I had some as a kid... As for sets, the only one I can think of that hasn't already been said is 4192 Fountain of Youth. People seem kind of divided on the new 60s Batcave as well.

I've never understood the argument that a person is "entitled" for not liking a product. It's not like TLG is handing us this set on a silver platter, we have to consider paying for this, out of money we've had to work for. Shouldn't we be able to say if we think the quality isn't up to par? Are reviewers, critics, etc. "entitled" too?

Found a ~70% complete 3862 Hogwarts Game at a yard sale for $1. Learning experience, though… if someone assures you a set is complete at a yard sale, take it with a grain of salt

This one will be a pass for me. A set really has to wow me for $250… this one is not doing it. I already have Echo Base and Wampa Cave and a couple smaller Hoth sets so there's nothing in this one for me… I don't think it's that bad of a set, just… underwhelming. There's nothing really special about it compared to earlier Hoth releases, it has kind of bland minifigs(not saying they're bad, but again… nothing too special about them) and really… no Leia? You know… not like she's a central character in the movie or the Hoth scene or anything… I guess it depends on what you want. If you're a MOCer and/or only looking at the piece value and need a Hoth set/a bunch of grey and white bricks, this one might be a better value(even if I think there are better options for either) but looking at it from a set collector I would take the Ewok Village over this any day. Ewok Village is a better looking set piece, better minifigs(IMO), HAS LEIA, and doesn't feel like a rehash of prior sets. Sure, there were a couple other Endor sets but Ewok Village still felt new. Even from a MOCer's point of view, sure, this set may have more pieces but I feel that the Village had better pieces: better colors, more unique pieces, while this set is a bunch of white and grey. However, this is simply going off what I've seen, sadly I'm poor and have neither set, though I'm planning on(hopefully) picking up Ewok Village in the future if secondary prices aren't ridiculous(yeah… right… what are the chances of that? ) but I have no plans to get this set.

You'd hate my displays then… I mix up every theme The display I have now is temporary though, maybe I'll change it when I do something more permanent… Anyways, here's my collection, not as expansive as I usually pick up whatever catches my eye regardless of theme, and I'm definitely lacking in Marvel but I've missed the last couple of years and am now saving up for something else non-Lego related. But here's my collection so far:

Nice review! Wasn't wowed by initial pictures of the set but admittedly it's grown on me. It's a nice little display with good minifigs, but not something I need mostly because I already have most of the minifigs from the 2010(I think it was 2010?) Slave 1, and while the Ugnaught looks fantastic I can live without one. The set itself is nice but I'll have to pass on this one for some of the other sets coming out this year.

Great review! But I have to agree that this set is rather lacking for the price. When I saw the first pictures I thought it would be a $30-40 set… but $60 is asking too much. Like Davor, after seeing that I thought I would just get Kylo Ren separately because he's the only one I really need from this set… but of course he's selling for half the price of the set. Think I'll wait for it to go on sale… or maybe not… we'll see

I need to start doing this I usually end up grabbing a couple without checking much because PEOPLE ARE STARING AT ME and regret it when I end up with way more $5-a-pop mad scientists than I need… As for whether being judged bothers me… I'd love to say it doesn't but as a rather shy and sensitive person I'd be lying if I said it didn't. Luckily my experience hasn't been too bad so far, but most of the sets I've gotten since my DAs have been gifts. Have to agree with what others have said about the Lego stores being the best place for acceptance, when I was starting to get into Lego again I went to one of the stores I picked up a couple SW magnets and one of the employees informed me that they were now glued and we had a conversation about how much that sucked But I'm hoping that with how large the AFOL community has gotten people will start being more accepting

Agreed. I definitely think that less is more when it comes to minifig head prints, trying to cram as much detail or weird eyes onto them just make them look old or just plain weird looking. Like old man Skywalker here.

DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave
Zoshi replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Licensed
Damn, what's with the prices lately? I'm not usually one to complain about pricing, but with this one and the other set I was interested in getting, Attack on Takodana, seem overpriced for what they're giving… ($60 for a brick wall and some figures? Really? Was going to just get Kylo Ren and skip it for that price, but of course he costs half the price of the set… ) About the set, I love the Batmobile and Wayne Manor section, especially that wallpaper, but I'm afraid the rest just doesn't do it for me for the price. It seems like $260 for a bunch of rock and some platforms. Thinking I'm just going to try and get some of the figures separately from this one, which is a shame but... -

I've recently started getting into the show, I've watched the first two seasons so far and I'm wondering how the next seasons compare to the first two? No spoilers please Also does Lloyd's voice ever change? Him having the same voice he had as a kid is throwing me off- 4,591 replies

I'm really hoping they'll do something with Big Hero 6, one of, if not my favorite Disney movie The Princesses in minifigure form would be nice too. But how likely would that be?- 4,155 replies

Moc builders vs Collectors, Lego civil war!
Zoshi replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm a collector who takes things out of boxes and builds them like the instructions. I was like this since I was a kid, my creativity wouldn't come from what I built but from what I could do with what I built from instructions. Nowadays I don't really have the money for an organization system, or the time and space to become a MOCer- I've tried it, but the lack of space and an organization system meant I spent more time looking for pieces than actually building. I feel like MOCing isn't for me in this point of time but I still love LEGO and want to appreciate that. Just putting that out there, there's more than one way to enjoy LEGO That's what makes it so great!
