  1. Got this one and Jurassic World for Christmas, haven't had the chance to start playing them yet but I'm excited.
  2. How would you rank the Lego games you've played? Or just say your favorite and least favorite Mine would be: Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga- I may be nostalgia blinded but this is not only my favorite lego games but one of my favorite games. Loved the levels, the environments, the music… everything! Lego Indiana Jones- A lot of people don't seem to like this game much but I loved it. Sure it was short and the characters weren't as diverse as Star Wars or Batman, but I loved the level design, the music, the environments… being a huge Indiana Jones fan probably makes me a bit biased Lego Marvel Superheroes- I feel like I'm one of the few people that dislikes the open worlds, but this game did it right. Not only was the hub world engaging(well, for the first couple hours, after a while it did get a bit repetitive…) but I didn't feel like the level design suffered because of the effort put into the hub world. But the flying races sucked. A lot. Lego Star Wars 3: Clone Wars- Loved the TV series and was very excited for this game. The level design was great… when there were actually levels. The real time strategy type levels weren't awful but the fact that enemies couldn't destroy your buildings just made them dull after a while. Loved the rest of the game, however. Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 Lego Batman Lego Movie Videogame Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Lego Pirates of the Caribbean- I have kind of a love-hate relationship with this game. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I can't stand it… and I'm not even exactly sure why. Lego Batman 2- The levels were mostly good, but the rest of the Justice League really should have showed up much earlier. The hub world, apart from a few moments, felt terribly boring and lifeless. Most of the puzzles consisted of using Batman and Robin's suits to climb buildings… because apparently we didn't get enough of Batman and Robin in the main story. Lego Lord of the Rings- The level design just seemed too bland to me, and it really felt like most of the effort went into the open world which sucks because I don't like open worlds in these games much. Not terrible, just not really for me. Lego Indy 2-Here's one that gets a lot of hate… and though I agree with most of the complaints about it, I still have a lot of fun playing through it. But the lack of free play and extremely short levels really take it down. Lego Battles- Well, this one I had a hard time placing… I loved it when I was younger, but nowadays it just can't keep my interest. Lego Batman 3- Just disappointing. I thought it would be the DC equivalent to Lego Marvel, but the level design seemed really poor in a lot of cases, the hub planets were awful, and respawning enemies everywhere. Loved the character roster though… just wish the actual game was as good Lego The Hobbit- The only Lego game I still haven't 100%-ed. It felt too gimmicky and the characters were for the most part dull. Trying to remember which dwarf did what was a pain in the brick. Lego Battles Ninjago- Same with Battles, but I didn't like this one as much. I'm not going to write descriptions for all of them because I don't really have a lot to say about them… Also I'm too lazy
  3. I used to do this to my mom when I was a kid I still have almost all my boxes, most of them are pretty beat up though… I honestly don't think I would mind having to part with them too much though, I mostly keep them for the value but I have no intention of selling my collection And like I said they're pretty beat up so I don't know if they'd be worth much anyway. I think it will end up a lot like my model horse collection, I kept the boxes for the value then got annoyed from having too many of them with no real use for them so I threw them in recycling. I'll hang on to them for the moment, but if it becomes to much of a pain I'll get rid of them.
  4. Thank you so much!
  5. Alright, here's my entry for the Expand the Winter Village contest A gingerbread house! Sadly, it is not edible And inside... A candy store, of course. Here is a view of the side, complete with a rather unhappy looking fellow who seems to have wandered into the wrong season... The roof also opens. …Sorry about that, Santa. That is one expensive popsicle... Here's a link to some more pictures: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=561035 Thanks for looking! Good luck to everyone entering, and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/Season's Greetings/whatever floats your boat Side note… let me know if the pictures are working, the right size, spontaneously combusting etc. as I'm relatively new to sharing pictures and though I believe I've done everything right if something's amiss let me know! Thanks!

    Pet peeves?

    THIS.
  7. This is why I hate CC exclusives. A lot. I would love to have Phoenix and Spider Woman but I have no means or intention to go to a CC for a chance to MAYBE get them. If it was an obscure variant or something I wouldn't mind. As much. Or just give them a certificate or something like with Bilbo or Azog. But with my budget I find it hard to justify paying more than $30 for a minifig unless it's one I REALLY want. Hundreds of dollars is completely out of the question. I'll leave it at that to avoid straying off topic. I'm hoping for a Dark Phoenix/Jean Grey variant for Phoenix at least.
  8. The winged warrior looks very cool, one of my favorites. Animal control… meh. Looks far too similar to the Zookeeper… skunk is kinda cool though. Laser Robot- not my thing(and I actually like robots/sci-fi stuff), the design just doesn't appeal to me. Wings look interesting though. Janitor- like the new mop, but meh. Jewel Thief- I actually really like her, but I can see why someone wouldn't. Farmer- meh. Feel the same for this one as Animal Control- cool pig, meh minifig.(unintentional rhyming ) Astronaut- rather cool looking. Knight- looks far too similar to the dragon warrior knights or whatever they're called from the Kingdoms sets for me to be really wowed by him, but a cool fig nonetheless. Satyr- not my cup of tea, but a cool design and very nice hairpiece. Shark- very cool, love the fin arms. Queen- one of if not my favorite from this wave, love the design, hairpiece and new dress piece. Headless Wrestler- meh. Nice to get a new hairpiece, but… meh. Dancer- rather cool. Tribal Woman- new hairpiece would have been nice but her printing looks great. Kendo fighter- too similar to past CMFs to be anything special to me. Could always use more swords though. Bad luck guy- he's okay.
  9. I've noticed that Lego has started using a new, softer material for capes. I don't own any of them(yet) but I'm curious as to other's thoughts on them. Which version do you think is superior? Do you think this is temporary, or has Lego changed them for good? As for me… I'll reserve judgement until I have one, but as long as they're not made of felt or some crap like that I don't think I'll mind them too much. However, I don't like the neck-covering, I never thought Thor was in desperate need of a scarf…
  10. While I actually like both Storm and the hairpiece, I completely agree about it seeming kinda lazy. They've been using it on soooo many female superheroes I'm just getting tired of seeing it everywhere. I don't get why they didn't make a mold of her hairpiece in Lego Marvel. Also, I don't think cheekbones look good on Lego people. It's a shame Lego seems to feel the need to give them to almost everyone now... I like The Simpsons and I love Lego, but I cannot stand the Simpsons Lego minifigs either. This would be awesome. I would so much rather have these characters than, say, 20 Batmen… I like Batman, but does he really need to be in almost every set?
  11. Very amazing work. I love all the details, especially the cafeteria and science lab. Very nice!
  12. I will admit I like the regular eyes better, but I don't think the CW eyes are that bad. I would love this. I would also love sets based off of existing anime, but that's probably just extremely wishful thinking… Yep, that's the one. I've heard that people like him, but eh… to each their own, I guess
  13. Smash Bros Wii U, Skyrim, and Lego Batman
  14. Wow, so many nice finds!! I was lucky enough to get a 7886 Harley Quinn's Hammer Truck(no box, but I don't really care about boxes) on ebay for about $30 a while ago. I also found a grey ninja minifig wearing sunglasses on the ground once And I got a 7252 Droid Trifighter at a yard sale for 75 cents, only missing one piece.
  15. Thank you!
  16. Ugh yes. I can usually ignore the CW faces but the parka just emphasizes its hideousness... I hope so. I'm not a big fan of his new design and I'm not even exactly sure why… I think its the eyes, they just look kinda weird to me
  17. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions, I'll check these out and see what will work best for me
  18. I have made a couple custom weapons and figures, and I've taken a few sets and tried to make something else with them, but I mostly keep things the way they are.
  19. Yeah, I keep a few on display and the rest in boxes.
  20. Awesome, I'll try giving it a shot then
  21. I usually collect sets to display, but recently I've been thinking of getting into MOCing.
  22. Yeah, I wouldn't use glue if there was another option, but in Vader's lightsaber's case I either had to glue it or deal with it constantly falling off. But luckily I have about 20 more lightsabers I don't plan on gluing any time soon if I need a hilt for something.
  23. Very nice. Looks so cozy
