I like the new Snowtrooper and the new backpacks. The pro is that this way, the mould of the helmet can be used for making Galactic Marines with different backpacks than the Snowtroopers have. The con is that Lego still does not have found a way to attach the clip without making the minifigigure higher. That may work for the Snowtrooper, but in my opinion it doesn't work so well for e.g. the Sandtrooper or ARC trooper (TCW). I wonder about the following: the backpack is attached via a clip which is located between the "shoulders" and the head, thus making the minifig slightly higher. On the picture, however, the helmet seems nearly to be in touch with the shoulders. Is that just my impression? Because if it is correct, and if the clip is removed, than it should not be possible to attach the helmet properly if the clip isn't attached, and it would follow from this that Lego requires two different moulds for the helmets of the Commander and the regular Snowtrooper. It doesn't seem probable that Lego makes two different moulds for this purpose, which leads me to the question: Why does the Snowtrooper on the picture look as if the helmet rests directly on the shoulders of the minifigure?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Lost Missions
Brickadeer replied to commanderneyo's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I've seen the first two arcs by now, and I think you'll like them. They both have a pretty dark undertone, and I'm looking forward to discussing the episodes here. While I know that the show couldn't last forever, "The Lost Missions" make me want to have it lasted a bit longer. -
Just wondering...at what age might the kid be in EP VII?

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Brickadeer replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As a general rule, I'd recommend to watch each model closely. Ask yourself if you really, really like it and if you are prepared to pay the price demanded. - As for the TIE Fighter, I'd go for the current model. I looks great, and it is available often for pretty huge discounts. - As for the X-Wing, I'd wait. Yes, the current X-Wing looks better than it's precedors, but no, the current canopy piece still doesn't look satisfying. - As for the V-Wing, I'd wait for the new one. Look for discounted models. If you are living in the U.S., you are off pretty well, since it occurs to me to be the land of discounts. As a second general rule, I'd recommend to set priorities. Do you want sets simply because you like to own them? In this case you can buy whatever you want. Do you want sets from certain scenes, and do you have limited resources? In this case you have to set clear priorities. And, as a third general rule, do not spent time or money on sets that were discontinued. In my experience, most of the times, it simply doesn't pay off. And now my questions: 1. I got the opportunity to buy the current AT-AP from set 75043 (vehicle, box, instructions, no minifigs) for EUR 35,00, which means roughly EUR 0,05 per piece. Do you think the price is ok? 2. The piece count of the AT-TE from 75019 is just slightly higher (~717 v. 780), but the price is roughly 50 % higher. Can anyone tell me why this is the case? Thanks! -
Thanks for the review I agree that the vehicle got vastly improved compared to the 2008 version. I actually consider buying this set.

The leg printing of the sandtrooper looks odd. Compared with the old sandtrooper, the legprinting seems incomplete and as if the lower part of the printing was missing or "cut off". Does anyone know if the clone trooper included in the calendar has a phase I or phase II helmet?
-
Thanks! The Cantina set looks pretty good to me :) And the new snowtroopers look more badass that the previous ones I would like to see a closer look of the sandtrooper though.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Lost Missions
Brickadeer replied to commanderneyo's topic in Culture & Multimedia
In Germany, the first arc is available at http://www.superrtln...yer=1&season=6. I don't know if the stream can be accessed from outside of Germany, though. It's clearly one of the best arcs that TCW has to offer. Concluding from the minifigs, the recent TCW sets are based on season 6. Thus, I don't believe we'll see an further TCW sets. -
I like it It looks elegant and very much like a civil transport on Coruscant!

It's nice to see that Lego didn't make stylized faces, but rather faces that can be integrated into the PT/OT scenes

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Brickadeer replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I think it's safe to say "no". @similarity: There is a certain degree of similarity because there is a common root. I think it's Old Saxon, but I'm not sure about that. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Brickadeer replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Thanks :) I do, but anyone who doesn't doesn't miss anything. It all becomes clear from the cinematics as well. What I find a bit odd is that apparently, these episodes are broadcasted in Germany before they are broadcasted in the U.S. -
Hmm I'd contact customer support in order to clarify the issue before ordering.
-
Hmm at Toys R Us (UK), TC-4 is added to any purchase of Lego Star Wars if 10 Pound or more are spend. I wish I could order there :(

I like your design. As having watched ANH multiple times, I recognized the vehicle immediately because of its three characteristic turbines. Your cockpit looks a bit different, and in the whole, it is way higher, but I prefer it to the original model.

Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon"
Brickadeer replied to Inconspicuous's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As for the head, I think you did a pretty good job in capturing Toothless' original "sweetness". I wonder if it's in any way possible to make the eyes in such a way that black and white are combined as to create pupils, but I suppose you have already given a greater deal of thought to this issue than I did :) -
It looks great. But I really think you should have integrated a handle. (Just kidding.)
-
Hm. Not much to say here. It looks perfectly nice. I like that the main colors (light grey, brown, olive, tan) are used in both houses (though in different portions); the fact that the identical dark grey "windows" are used in both houses; the stonework; and of course the architecture.
-
I agree with your last point. While the stormtroopers included in the recent Endor sets were identical, an update (leg printing) was to be expected. I do not dislike updates per se. But I think they should be less frequent (and yes, especially with figures that have army builder potential) and more predictable. As for the Sandtrooper, I think Lego should have focused on solving the issue how the backpack can be attached without making the figure larger (in heigth). Given the recent trend in making turnable helmets that began with the new phase II troopers and (apparently) continues with the snowtrooper helmets, an updated and turnable stormtrooper helmet is probably not so far away. @Zzz: I tried to figure it out myself, but failed miserably: what do you mean by "the small black thing from the backpack"?
-
I like the build, especially the facial expressions, the "gestures" of the rebel droids, and of course the lightning effects. As for criticsm, my only points are that the pictures look a little bit grainy, and that the floor could be made as to look less "studdy".

Just post it here in the forum. The mods will create a link in the review index thread. -
First, there are differences. The printing of the visors, nose parts, and legs are different, and the the printing of the lower body is different (compare e.g. the different printing of the 212th clones: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=sw522 v. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=sw453). Second, are these differences significant. Well, to me they are. If they are to you, you have decide for yourself.

Well, the Snowspeeder in 75014 consisted of app. 206 pieces. Given that this number doesn't vary significantly, I wonder what can be done with app. 70 pieces. The whole P-tower thingy from 75014 consists of 71 pieces, so something of that calibre will be included. I hope it's not just another imperial speederbike.

Thanks for the pics :) I find it interesting to see updated Snowtroopers with kamas and possibly new helmet molds. Plus, I never realized that there's a differnce between regular Snowtroopers and the Snowtrooper Commander. I'm not happy that the new Stormtroopers got leg printing, but it seems that this step was unavoidable. As for the Snowspeed, I hope for a new canopy. Given the price and the number of pieces, I wonder if the set will be based on the battle scene or the rescue scene (Luke and Han).
