To me, it seems that the mold of the BARC trooper is the same as the regular phase II trooper's, it's just differently printed.

Nice one, very lego-ish and winter-ish :) No:

A picture of a new wookie or Tarful:

We may debate whether the helmet looks good or not. To me, the problem is that the figure as a whole looks awkward or unnatural when the helmet is attached to it (I think the same of the Boushh-minifig; others may think differently about it, though). The scout trooper or the phase I troopers, including the ARF trooper, look much better and more natural. In the end, the question is whether I like it enough to spend my money for it and currently, it's very likely that the answer is "no". Another thing that bothers me is that the visor is out of line when compared to other minifigs. Others may think of it as an unimportant detail, but I'd prefer visors to be located at the highth of the eyes, which is the same for all clones.

Another picture from ebay, nothing new, though:

Nicely put I don't know what to say. I didn't like the design of the regular phase II helmets, but this one is even worse. It's so rediculous: finally, TLC comes with a battle pack a lot of people want, but messed up the design of the minifigs, or at least the design of the helmets. These guys are really making a couple of remarkably bad decisions :(

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion

An interview with Dave Filoni: http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2013/10/14/dave-filoni-looks-back-on-star-wars-the-clone-wars-and-ahead-towards-star-wars-rebels Since the show has ended, it's more for the fans of the show and those who like reading interviews of Dave. -
Hi Hendrik, thanks for the information! Can you tell us whether Com. Wolffe and his trooper got phase I or phase II helmets?
-
That is not likely to happen. TLG used the same mold for Captain Rex' phase II helmet. While they could and maybe should have made a mould with holes, I don't think that they will start with Commander Cody. So I think that we will either see Cody without visor or a visor that is part of the helmet and therefore part of the mould.

Based on the information that is available, I think it's safe to say that it will come with 2 Gunners rather than with 1 Gunner and 1 DS Trooper.

I still don't like it. The Inquisitor doesn't really fit into my concept of the time 5 years before ANH, and I think that at this point of time, the Jedi should all be dead for quite some time already. To me, it always felt that the last Jedi were killed a long time ago, rather than in the 5 years before ANH. Plus, I think if there are remaining Jedi fighting the Empire, it makes Yoda and Obi Wan look a bit look like cowards.
-
Basically, I share this view. I would have preferred to see the empire playing dirty, that is, introduce all "mundane" means to get the remaining Jedi, like bounty hunters, smart and ambitious officers, and of course the sheer power of its military. I never understood Obi Wan's revelation in EP IV (Vader killed the Jedi) as "Vader killed them by means of an inferior Sith apprentice, the Inquisitor". So Vader may have used all means to find the Jedi, and in this process, his inferiors may have failed quite often. But Vader may have wanted to kill them himself when they were located. I think that in distinguishing these two tasks, the introduction of medicore Sith apprentices could have been avoided.

Great find! I'm still not satisfied with the mold, but with the swung lines, the visor looks better than his TCW counterparts.
-
Well. I'm beginning to hope that you're right and that it's basically a cool-sounding line. On days like this, it always strikes my mind that there are still a few TCW stories I would have liked to see, especially, but not exclusively, the evolvement of Order 66, and I'm beginning to mourn the fact that these stories most probably will never be told on screen. If I had children who wondered why they never were told how their beloved heroes (clone soldiers) could slaughter their Jedi friends in EP III, I'd tell them that this is because of the evil Disney. "Ever seen Mickey Mouse? You think it looks friendly and harmless? Well, don't trust Mickey Mouse, it's a product of the evil Disney who prevented the world from being told how this exactly happened!" Well. I think I should start caring less about SW.
-
I do take it seriously to a certain extent. In my understanding, the Jedi Order was destroyed at the end of EP III. Yoda went into exile, and so did Obi Wan Kenobi. Whether or not any other Jedi survived, I think they all were dead at the beginning of EP IV. Now, will Disney make a Star Wars film or series in whatever period of time that does not feature Jedi? I don't think so. So compared to the end of EP III, some kind of "rise of the Jedi" seems a necessity.
-
What an irony! I finally get the PT battle packs I ever wanted, but chances are high that TLG didn't get standard phase II helmets right. I really hope they made a few adaptions of the TCW phase II helmets...
-
I think I prefer the CW version. Basically, Tan was replaced by White, and the eyes look different, though in my opinion not better.

I just found these pictures of Grievous on Bricklink. The seller claims that this is the 2014 model: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3379/kcuq.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2149/nigt.JPG http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/6167/94mj.jpg

"The rise of the Jedi" is not exactly something I'd expected to see.
-
Personally, I'm not excited about a UCS Slave One. I'm interested in UCS sets that are compatible with minifigs, like 10179, 10212 and eh...well, that's it, I guess.
-
To me, the troopers don't look any better. You're right, in the end, we have to wait, but I can't see any reason for being optimistic about changes.
-
If they get to correct the shape, I'd buy a couple of those Kashyyyk Battlepacks and, more importantly, practically every EP III set that feartures phase II clones. But I think the odds that they changed the mold are approximately zero. The good thing is that I'll save money; the bad thing is that I'll never own decent phase II Lego clone troopers because Lego made no such decent troopers.
-
I think the reason is that though visors generally look black, they look silver when they are reflecting light, e.g. here. Personally, I like the effect, but I think it should have been incorporated for all clones, not only for officers.
-
That's correct! To me, it was the most important design decision Lego had to make for the years to come, and Lego didn't make it :( So sad. I have not bought yet a single phase II clone, and I don't think that I'll ever do.
