LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Brickadeer replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I had high hopes 75262 (Imperial Dropship). But I got 75228 (Dewback mircofighters) yesterday, and I simply don't like the new Stormtrooper helmet. It is too huge. Slave 1 looks great, but it's not a set I'd want. So I'll wait for the next wave :) -

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I asked that myself. If they wanted to, they could have started with Commander Gree in set 75234. I'm not sure if a dual molded phase II helmet would actually be better and not just bigger than the current mold, so I hope that this change won't come. But at the end of the day, I don't know what caused this change, so I guess we just have to wait and see. edit: But if I had to bet, I'd say we'll see dual molded clone helmets. -

Hi, in the context of legs or helmets, I often read the term "dual mold". What does that mean? -

I'm not so fond of the new scout- and snowtrooper. I like the new mold of the scout's helmet, but I don't like the excessive printing, namely the part over the mouth piece and the three vertikal lines. I do not like the legs, either, since I cannot see what the new printing represents. In that regard (legs), I like the 2013 version much better. The last point goes for the snowtrooper as well; it simply doesn't benefit from the printed legs. To me, the snowtrooper legs (and e. g. phase 1 clones legs) looks best without any printing at all. -

Hi, have a question regarding set 75228: Does anyone know if the helm of the Sandtrooper is a new mold that will be replace all stormtrooper helmets? I don't like it, it looks...odd. It looks like a stormtrooper from the "Rebels" series. -
In my understanding, it's not so much about force usage. Rather, the force appeared to be something with a will of its own that acts through those who apply it, rather than the other way around. If I remember correctly, there are a few references in which Yoda or Obi Wan say that this or that is "the will of the force". So the title "The Force Awakens" means something different than "The Order Awakens". (Plus, the force is a doubled-edged sword that has a dark side as well, and the title doesn't make clear which of both sides awakens, or if both sides awaken.)
-
I always liked the title "The Phantom Menace" because of its double meaning. First, it can be understood as referring to the fact that the driving force behind the events is unknown. Second, it can be understood as referring to the fact that it is (so to say) not a real, but a fabricated threat. "A New Hope"can be understood as referring to the aspect that the rebellion might succeed, so that after the destruction of the Death Star and the rebellion's military success there is a new hope for the people who hate the empire and know of the respective events. And it can be equally understood as referring to the emergence of a new Jedi apprentice, something that is obvious to the audience, but not for the characters in the film who have to deal with the threat. This distinction, information available to the audience and information available to characters in the film, can be applied to both cases, and I'd expect that the new title has such a double meaning as well.

I wouldn't rate any of the episodes as high. This band of rebels is thrown into situations it shouldn't be able to deal with, whether it is boarding and escaping from an imperial Star Destroyer or whether it is escaping from a secret prison that functions as a beacon to catch Jedi that may have survived. I didn't like the Inquisitor's "futuristic" lightsaber. Rather, Rebels should have stuck to the old-fashioned OT lightsaber style, which means one normal lightsaber per force wielder. All in all, Rebels is fun and entertaining, and it leaves plenty of room for improvement.
-
I liked Spark. What I didn't like, though, is the Ezra-gets-captured-and-rescued-part. I think that escaping from an imperial Star Destroyer was much too easy. Another thing I don't like is that the Stormtroopers seem to be even less able to hit a target than the battle droids in TCW.
-
I like the sets. What I find interesting is that comparatively many sets aren't from the movies or the series (shadow trooper bp, geonosis trooper bp, Azure Angel).
-
I like the design of the gunship. To me, it looks neat and perfectly like a verhicle from an animated series, and it looks like a smaller, bulkier, and heavier armed version of the republic gunship.

The first date is the release date of the picture shown above: http://www.starwars....-cast-announced The second date indeed is the assumed release date of EP VII mentioned in the article linked above.

I agree in part. But it should be equally clear that the force played a more subtle role in the OT than it did in the PT: In ANH, it was Luke who destroyed the Death Star, which happened through Obi Wan's guidance, Lukes abilities and, of course, Han's intervention. But these are facts that are apparant to the audience only and that are not "public knowledge". In ESB, the force practically plays no role for the rebellion against the empire. In ROTJ, the role of Luke and consequently the force is crucial, but subtle. Luke rescued Han who later is responsible for the destruction of the imperial bunker on Endor and thus enables the rebel fleet to destroy the Death Star. And it is Luke who saved the rebels at Endor from being killed by the Ewoks. But the bunker and the Death Star were destroyed by the rebels, non-forcewielders, and again, Lukes role will remain unknown. Even if there is a new Jedi Order, what will his role be? Speaking frankly, the Jedi Order has failed miserably in protecting the galaxy. Do the average people know the difference between Jedi and Sith? Will they entrust forcewielders with their protection, or will they suspect all kinds of forcewielders? If so, can trust be regained? How "interventionist" will the Jedi be? And, after the success of the rebellion, will the people think that they actually need protection from forcewielders? Anakin fell because he acted selfish. But might not the use of the force for the "public good" and non-selfish goals equally lead to the dark side? So I think there are a couple of question that may be posed and answered by the new trilogy.

I'm pretty curious about EP VII. I'm curious about the type of villain they present, and, more importantly, about the goals he's trying to achieve. "Trying to become the ruler of the galaxy and super-powerful" basically is what the PT is about. Doing the same thing with a non-forcewielder would be a bit, well, pointless. Sidious was the "bad guy" only because the republic was "good", and when he overthrew it, it became the "evil" empire. With his defeat, I think the natural assumption is that the republic has returned to a state of "good" again. If there'd simply be a "new" and "good" republic, the initial situation would be too similar to the initial situation in EP I, thus I think it should and it will be more complicated since the galaxy will not yet have recovered from Sidious' reign. As for the question whether or not the villain has to be force sensitive: I think that any good villain has to relate to the force in one way or another, and without the ability to manipulate or act through the force directly, he's not in control.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned already, and it might not be so exciting for erveryone, but I think we're gonna see Rex in Rebels. I will quote from an interview between IGN's Eric Goldman an Dave Filoni: Filoni: You're exactly right. It's not so easy when you have committed fronts everywhere throughout the galaxy. What are they going to do? I think the Council, like I said, they are more aware. Shaak Ti is aware that there was a problem with the clones, however, they want to believe that this was just a problem with this parasite that infected Fives and Tup and that's the end of it. If they believe in the bigger truth, then it's a much, much, much, much, much worse situation. Anakin, who is the only Jedi who really hears Fives's accusation that the Chancellor is involved, is not going to believe that at all. As soon as Fives says that to Anakin, he's like, "Okay, you're crazy." The interesting one to me that hears it is actually Rex. So you have to wonder about that. IGN: Which I do! Filoni: [Laughs] Yeah, exactly. What does it mean that Rex is basically the only clone that hears what pretty much the truth is, and how would that affect his future? I would posit that it affects his future greatly. So, you know, you'll just have to wait and see what that means. [Laughs] It used to be great because I could mess with you like this, and we had a whole season coming next year, but that's not the case now. But we have other exciting Star Wars content coming, so, you know…

Some Advice needed...Cloud City Moral Dilemma.

Yes, I'd find it somehow rude, because he might ask himself why you ask it back. -
I've got a question. I remember that I have read the term "Lord of Sith" in a Danish or American Star Wars Comic in the 80s, probably in the first half of the 80s. As far as I remember, the term "Sith" wasn't specified. Rather, the information given in EP IV about Darth Vader was slightly enhanced: he wasn't just a mere "Lord", but a "Lord of the Sith". Does anyone know where and when the term "Sith" was introduced for the first time?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Lost Missions
Brickadeer replied to commanderneyo's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yes, Anakin didn't save them both. But I like to think that he let Clovis fall willingly and that he hides that from Padme. Remember that she effectively broke up with him. Fives death has a pretty tragic touch: he understood more about the conspiracy than anyone else did, and the ironic thing is that even Rex and Anakin didn't believe him and ultimately didn't trust him. Watching the arc, I knew that FIves could not succeed, yet I was hoping he would. To me, that's pretty good story telling. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Lost Missions
Brickadeer replied to commanderneyo's topic in Culture & Multimedia
It's not a dream, it's a vision Yoda has on Dagobah. Episode 8 and 9 are pretty lame, and the concept of the force, at least to me, gets further confused. Episode 10 and 11, on the other hand, are pretty good -
REVIEW: 75040 General Grievous’ Wheel Bike
Brickadeer replied to HandofBobb's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review I like the set. The major change is that Lego has begun to use 2d prints to create (3d) depth effects. So if you look at the eyes from a small distance, as on your photos, the pupils seem to be located in the head, not on the face. Another example is the regular 212th trooper in 75036: from a small distance, the grey printing on the "cheeks" of the helmets is interpreted as "shade" and not a property of the surface, resulting in a similar depth-effect.
