  1. If the set is labeled UCS, chances that it's bigger than minig scale are very high. If people were knowing what they were doing, no additional information would have been required. I see the possibility, thopugh, that a majority of voters simply expressed their view, "I like gunships (if they are not at the size of a UCS set)!" But it's Lego's responsibilty to have an understanding of the voter's wills, not mine.
  2. Pictures from the catalogue @promobricks.de.
  3. On the German Lego website, the respective release dates September 1st and August 1st are still displayed.
  4. 75283 Immediate buy. 75280 I like it better, but I'm still not totally satisfied with the design of the troopers. 75286 It makes me hoping for a remake of 75036 :)
  5. It is my personal belief that there is room for pareto improvements: The selection and design of sets can be more to my liking without the children being made worse off :) Seriously. The complaints I have regarding e. g. the design of the 501st troopers cannot be countered with, "But they are for the children!" Nor do I see that this "argument" counts for any choice regarding selection and design of any set or minifigure.
  6. I think the point here is that Lego knows perfectly well if there is an AT-TE on its way to the shelves or not. So the state of 75291 is already fully determined. It's set in stone bricks.
  7. The dice has already been rolled, so the odds are either 100 % or 0 % :) Unfortunately, we can't have a look under the dice cup.
  8. “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.” - Albert Einstein At the end of the day, Lego will release a limited number of sets in any wave. The number of sets that can possibly be released is infinite, and, as one may keep in mind, due to Einstein, infinity is pretty much the realm of stupidity. Noone is actually interested in what a certain person thinks is - due to some arbitrarily chosen criteria - "possible", "plausible" or "likely". The only persons who have substatial knowledge about the sets to come are Lego interns, and if a rumor is not somehow connected that substatial knowledge, it ultimately stems from the realm of, well, infinity.
  9. I think there is room for debate as for what is good about the show and what isn't, and what someone may find likeable about certain episodes, and others not. I agree that consistency within the Star Wars universe as a whole has value. I do not see, though, that TCW has created major inconsistencies. In the TCW, Jedi and other force wielders do amazing things like jumping from high buildings etc. That might create a potential inconsistency with the fall and the death of Sidious in "Return of the Jedi". I'd consider it to be "potential", because the problem may be explained away relatively easy by assuming that he may have survived the fall, but not the destruction of the Death Star. But I do not think that in this particular case an incosistency could be avoided if the Star Wars universe was to evolve. I do not see, though, that TCW has "totally different rules in it's universe". TCW makes the Star Wars universe more fantastic, and I think that some things that work in an animated show may not work in a live action show. But I'm ok with that. I agree, though, that the FTL suiciced attack of Admiral Hodo bears the question why droids didn't use that tactic in the clone wars and yes, it creates a major inconsistency that easily could have been avoided. After all, Star Wars is not Star Trek and simply not science fiction. But still, in-universe plausibility is important. (How again could the empire land AT-ATs on Hoth if the moon was surrounded by a shield?) And I'd generally agree that Lucasfilm could and should make a better job in expanding the Star Wars universe. And if you say that the sequel trilogy makes their job infinitely more difficult, I'd agree as well.
  10. The whole series is about storytelling. It's not about showing realistic combat situations. As for the scene with Ahsoka and Rex, it shows them fighting against overwhelming odds. Ahsoka can't prevent Maul from escaping, so she has to let him go. Then, she and Rex have to move, and they were lucky to survive. You seem to suggest that the story would have had a different outcome if combat was "more realistic". But that is not the case. "Fighting against overwhelming odds" could have been visualized differently, but the point is that how it is visualized is a comparatively unimportant aspect of the story. As for the scene with Maul, it has to be viewed in context with a previous dialogue between Bo Katan and Ahsoka. Bo Katan says that Maul's cage was designed to imprison "force-wielding maniacs." That was a joke, and Ahsoka briefly smiled. When Maul is released from the cage, he is basically unstoppable. And unlike Ahsoka, he is a forcewielding maniac. The underlying theme of both scenes are "power" and "control of power". There's a very fine line marking the difference between Ahsoka and Maul: Ahsoka exceutes self-restraint and puts her abilities in the service of the "greater good". Maul, on the other Hand, only serves himself. But the point is that they both made the decisions for themselves, and no mundane power can enforce its will on them. That's in part why people start to question the Jedi's legitimacy, and what causes unrest in "normal" people like the Martez sisters.
  11. I think it depends on the point of view ? To me, TCW series had a function: It made Anakin’s turn to the dark side more plausible than “Revenge of the Sith”. Consequently, the way how the Jedi Order was changed by the war was a recurring topic of the series. Understanding why Maul was *spoiler* is crucial to understanding the whole scene when Ahsoka meets the council.
  12. I don't think that the "The Clone Wars" movie was "awful". It was pretty much like the rest of the show. Given that it is exactly that, namely a 4-episodes-arc that was released as a movie, that cannot be a surprise. As for the show as a whole, there are things I like, and there are things I don't like. TCW Season 7 spoiler:
  13. Due to wookieepedia, Soulless One appeared in the following episodes: Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Destroy Malevolence" Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Downfall of a Droid" Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Duel of the Droids" Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Lair of Grievous" Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "The Big Bang"
  14. Soulless One appeared in season 1 of TCW and an unfinished story reel, "Crisis on Utapau". Both, TCW and the story reels, are canon.
  15. Well, on IMDB, the role is listed in her credits.
  16. It is a possibility, yes, but in no way certain. I think it's safe to say that the new 501st design is based on TCW. In TCW, however, 212th troopers were never near "Soulless One". So if you're right that would mean that Lego uses the new TCW design for prequel sets as well (which I think is unlikely) or that they combine vehicles and figures from TCW in a PT setup (which I think is unlikely as well). That's why I think that the clone is either not a 212th trooper or that he will have a different design than the 501st trooper. (And due to my inherent and persistent stubbornness, I'm still positive that it's Commander Cody :).)
  17. Well, the thread would become a little rusty from time to time, but I think that the site as a whole would be fine:)
  18. When I saw the picture of 75280 for the first time, I imediately disliked the new clones because to me, they didn't look like generic 501st troopers . Others share this impression, and these are facts that cannot be explained away :) The grey represents "shadow" and as such, serves as a cue for "depth". It makes the breathing tubes look bigger (which is a good thing), but I think a grey line would have been sufficient. The dark lines represent darker shadows, but they do not work for me. I perceive them as black lines, especially from a frontal view. In that regard, the design of the 212th clone was superior since here, the grey lines worked well as cues for "depth". However, some printing to emphasize or mark the boudaries between the tubes and the "cheeks" (= grey areas) would have been good.
  19. It's not what I hoped for. I'm not fond of the new visor print. It makes the minifig look more "badass", but at the expense of "clonishness". Plus, I find it odd that they don't come with blue arms. There are other aspects I don't like, but...who cares ^^ I will buy a set, though, to check if they look better "in natura".
  20. Great rey-make of a classic scene :)
  21. TCW Season 3 was released in October 2011, battle pack 9488 was released first in UK, on January 1st 2012. I assume that the design of 9488 was completed before Season 3 was released, so I suppose a lot depends on the information Lego gets from Lucasfilm.
  22. That's slightly incorrect. The ARC trooper wasn't based on Colt, but actually appeared in the arc: Hammer.
  23. Me neither :) But I'm an outsider and as such, not part of Lego's decision making process, and in my experience for an outsider, it is pretty much impossible to influence the direction this process takes. At the end of the day, I don't know what the AFOL community wants. I know what I want, but I do not know if that's representative for the AFOL community as a whole.
  24. The bad news is: It only saves you 60 Euros ;)
  25. Due to promobricks, 75274 is a TIE Fighter Pilot Bust (724 parts, no pictures available).
