Lego Universe - RIP?
cimddwc replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I only got an extra leaflet in the German spring catalogue advertising it for 9.99€ (with free shipping for the DVD). So I don't know if it's a regional limitation or if the hundreds and hundreds of Euro I've already spent weren't enough... -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
cimddwc replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Since there are so many useful figures in this series, I had ordered a full sealed box from a German BrickLink shop, which arrived today. (They cleverly extended the original shipping box to include the small parts I had also ordered, by the way.) It's batch number 351B0 which is printed on the brown shipping box and also embossed along with the dot bump codes on each bag, and it's got this distribution: Batch 351B0 Back 20 Geisha Lawn Gnome Musketeer 19 Geisha Musketeer Soccer Player 18 Soccer Player Hazmat Guy Mad Scientist 17 Musketeer Guitar Punk Skater Boy 16 Figure Skater Artist Guitar Punk 15 Werewolf Soccer Player Werewolf 14 Skater Boy Sailor Surfer Girl 13 Hazmat Guy Skater Boy Guitar Punk 12 Monster Werewolf Geisha 11 Monster* Soccer Player Hazmat Guy 10 Hockey Player* Monster Viking 9 Sailor Figure Skater Viking 8 Surfer Girl Werewolf Artist 7 Viking Werewolf Guitar Punk 6 Hazmat Guy Geisha Sailor 5 Guitar Punk Hockey Player Monster 4 Artist Mad Scientist Skater Boy 3 Lawn Gnome Sailor Hockey Player 2 Sailor Lawn Gnome Artist 1 Figure Skater Surfer Girl Surfer Girl Front * I might have accidentally swapped these two So I got the same amount as SilentMode got for his box (albeit placed quite differently): 2x Mad Scientist 3x Figure Skater 3x Hockey Player 3x Lawn Gnome 3x Musketeer 3x Viking 4x Artist 4x Geisha 4x Hazmat Guy 4x Frankenstein's Monster 4x Skater Boy 4x Soccer Player 4x Surfer Girl 5x Guitar Punk 5x Sailor 5x Werewolf I took the dot codes from http://www.minifigcollector.com/ and modified it where necessary for this batch - there are differences for Werewolf, Surfer Girl, Hazmat Guy and the Gnome. I hope I got them correct since many where very hard to see clearly: -
Just like the other MOCs you just posted: Really great with lots of lovely details!
-
That's really a great realistic station with lots of nice details, indeed reminding me of some I've seen in Switzerland.
-
The massive look, combined with all the little details preventing monotony in the walls, really works fine – especially on the street level photos. But I think the door could use more glass. If you don't like the reddish brown, well... I'm wondering how nougat would look like there...
-
I think it's got to be the good old Yellow Castle (375) for me... with honorable mentions of the 978 Space Cruiser, the 7740 train, the Emerald Night (with more than one passenger car) and the Green Grocer.

Thanks – and looking forward to seeing your banks. This makes me wonder: Is there a currency using the "$" symbol that has a sufficiently high value?
-
Nice! Indeed you can't immediately see a difference in the thumbnails, and that means you did a great job.
-
A church for the Invisible Pink Unicorn (Wikipedia), of course. ;) (Well, wouldn't be invisible then, but that would be somewhat boring...)
-
Agreed – as long as it's Town-compatible. And I'm hoping for a pink unicorn, that would be a nice decoration for the church I'm thinking of building.
-
Really nice! Maybe add some rotating spotlight (like on some police car sets) on the roof? I'd say it's mirrored so you can read it in your rearview mirror when it's driving behind you. :)

Hmm... the generic 2x2 round clock is too small, too simple. Maybe with some stuff around it... or some custom clock. Might be worth a try.
-
Wow! Breathtakingly awesome.
-
Wow! Really impressive! Huge and great looking.
-
Again, thanks everyone! About the round Atlantis thing, well, it may not be the perfect decoration especially when viewed from the side, but I need something there (and not yet another fish), and I like it enough to keep it. :)

Nice raffle – and many nice entries already! Here's my Classic Space mobile control center: Imagine the astronauts in space calling "Houston, we have a problem!", and hearing the reply "Ha ha, we're not in Houston anymore!" And here's a photo with the door open.

Purchase in bulk from Pick a Brick
cimddwc replied to BryanKinkel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, sometimes PaB is indeed cheaper for larger quantities. For instance, I recently got 2x2 tiles in light and dark bluish gray (city pavement) which are 6 Euro-cents on PaB, but BrickLink prices start at 6.5 to 8 cents except for a few lots of less then 20 pieces, and that's not counting shipping costs from other countries or continents... -
Thanks everyone! That's from the 3661 set, not my design. :) Yes, I thought about that, but banks nowadays – at least those I know around here in Germany – usually have open counters, so mine are open, too.
-
As eiker86 pointed out in the thread about the upcoming 3677 train set, there seem to be dark bley single tracks on its low-bed car. Hmmm... would be surprising if they'd make it just for that one car...

Yes, a modular building (no, not the next official one) that's even more yellow than toorayay's great Park West Building that he posted a couple of days ago. Edit: If you can't see any images here, it means that MOCpages is down once again – that's why I now uploaded them to Flickr, too. And I think the color combination works quite well. As you can see, I used parts and ideas from the Atlantis temple and the Bank and Money Transfer set. Featuring a rich interior including basement: And there's a thief underground, so the police have arrived on the scene: A scene that includes the Fire Brigade and some brick-built street: » More pictures and text on MOCpages!

Yesterday I got two extra coaches for my old 7740 train on ebay. After that, I originally wanted to cut back on purchases a little for the next months (except for Minifigs 4 and the Maersk train). Now I just placed a 2000-part order on BrickLink and still got 1/3 of items left on my long-term want list. Well... but I guess that can happen to anyone.

Great! All those many nice details... I've been thinking to build one myself since it might be a nice addition to my city (once it grows a little more), but I don't think it would've got anywhere near the quality of yours... But I wouldn't park it in front of the Fire Brigade, blocking the exit isn't a good idea in case of a fire alarm. ;)
