How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
Corvus replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hmmmmmmm. I just saw it. I must say....I'm impressed. It turned out much, much better than I thought- the clones using their heads rather than shooting everything. The interrogation part bothered me a bit, since they all seemed nervous of their commanders, but the theme of the story turned out pretty well. This is the first sign in the series, and the movies, that some clones just aren't satisfied. The way it turned out was very impressive. You could just tell that Slick (the traitor) had something happen to him earlier, which either messed him up pretty bad to the point of betraying everybody, even his brothers, or that he was one of the 'flawed' clones that occasionally pop up and the Kaminoans missed. I guess it goes to show that even clones can crack under enough pressure. I mean, they go under extreme training, aging at twice the normal rate, being put under live fire exercises at the age of four. It adds a real human side to the story, I think. The way that the other clones reacted to it was pretty good, too. They seemed really troubled with it, because they know it's not fair for them, either. So, overall, much better than I'd feared. -
Oh, man, that's terrible... At such a young age. If it would've happened to me, it couldn't have been a better time- he must've had a fine time before it happened. Snowball fights, presents. It's good to die happy- we don't know what happens after.

Definitely 'sets'. The word 'kit' brings to mind glue, sheets of plastic, and none of it working according to the directions.

Interesting. While I really don't like the idea that a clone would betray them, it'll be really funny to see how they find him when he can just stand next to some other guy. "Wait a minute, how do I know you're not him?!" "Uh...sir?" -
I'm dissapointed about there being just one EDIT: 'jet' clone in the Snail droid, but it's a fine set nonetheless, so at least TLC isn't relying on the fig to sell the set. Definitely going to get more than one. The shuttle is a definite must, too. Some parts might need modding, but Gunray is looking much better than he did in the prelims. Brilliant! He pays no attention to the thread and makes fun of someone because they told him so! Two in one!

Thank, guys! From one of the Exo-Force torsos, I think.

Hey everybody, Having bits and pieces left over from sticker sheets, and annoyed at the plain-ness of the Lego kamas and pauldrons, I cut up some official TLC stickers and put 'em on. What do you think? ARC trooper: I had some leftover stickers from the Rebel BP, so I took those, cut them up, and put them on this guy. I had one on the helmet, too, but unfortunately it didn't stay so well. I like the effect it has on the pauldron- much less bland and boring than just bley. Rex: I added a sticker from one of the Stormtrooper BPs and put it on his pauldron, as well as a cut-up sticker from Indie on his legs. Green clone/sniper: A sticker from the Stormie BP on his torso. I think it looks pretty cool... Heavy trooper: One sticker from the Indie box things on his arm and leg, plus goggles on his helmet, which is, I don't know, a visor? macrobinoculars? Orange clone w/ rotary blaster: This guy has another Stormie BP sticker, as well as a rotary blaster that I'm pretty fond of. C&C welcome.

It will eventually. I can't imagine it not coming- at least to the stores, anyway. This is great! Now I don't have to buy Vader's TIE or the Solar Sailer.

Yes, Luke gets his hand cut off. Yes, Anakin loses his hand. Yes, Maul gets cut in half. But these movies are PG, remember. Halo is rated Mature. Yes, someone gets their heart ripped out, and yes, Batman is violent. Those are the more violent of the movies (or comics...) I wasn't saying that anyone in Halo gets their neck snapped. I'm saying that there are varying degrees of violence in films and movies- Batman and Indie, sure, can be a little-to-pretty up there, but SW? No. Plus, I wasn't saying that they're using Lego minifigs in SW and such. I was comparing Lego 'violence' and Halo violence. Lego characters don't splat against a wall... You've taken everything I've said a completely different direction. If you want to continue the conversation, do it via PM.

No, all the Senate Commandos, blue-robes, and red-robes are non-clone. What I don't get is why they're thought to be superior. I would've loved to see Argyus take on an ARC or a Commando. -
What's funny is that Bend, Oregon, US, has absolutely no snow. I mean come on, this is a ski town that's next to one of the top ten resorts in the U.S., and it's 60 degrees out. Wacky, wacky weather.

Honestly, I'm glad we don't get any more lego-Halo topics. I like the brickforge versions, but by no means am I going to want the two combined officially. And honestly, this would send Lego's reputation down the toilet. The most violent themes of lego could be Batman or Indiana Jones- but are these so bloody, compared to Halo? Halo, as a first-person shooter game, already tags itself with some bad tags by parents. Sure he does. However, Indy and SW have a much different stance than Halo- how many 5-year old kids play Halo? In my book, it's a bloody game. The times when I played the game, I saw blood on the ground after I was killed. Maybe it's tame for a first-person shooter, but it's too violent for kids, and for parents to buy it for their kids. The parents I know aren't going to buy that lego toy if they see the words "Halo" on the top. You're the one not making sense... The difference in the theme is that no blood splatters across the ground when a stormtrooper gets shot. And no, he's not in denial. There are categories of violence- would you honestly say that heroic Han Solo shooting a stormie, who falls off the screen, is different from a gory movie in which you hear someone's neck snap and see blood all over the place? So basically, there's 'heroic' violence, like in Indy, SW, and so on, and there's realistic violence, like in some games and 'real' movies. And yes, Lego 'violence' is different from Halo violence. When a lego character gets hit in a Lego SW game, they fall into little LEGO pieces. Does a soldier in Halo do the same? EDIT: Maybe we should stop about LEGO's violence policy. It'll only end very badly, and doesn't relate to MB's getting the license. If we continue this it'll only get the thread locked.

Eagle! That is quite possibly the most accurate mini-eagle I've ever seen. Would it be possible to get a pic of just the Bald eagle alone?
-
Awesome. I need some more gunships do do this with. They're all great.
-
Yes, it does. The bottom part of the helmet has something that juts out on the inside to keep it from being too wobbly on the head, and tends to wear off the heads.
-
Very nice! Now that I look at the original article, it is very accurate. I like the interior, too- for some reason, the table is my favorite part of the interior.
-
Very nice! Your clones are cool, and the idea of a cantina on a Venator is pretty funny. Can't wait for next installment.

Ooh, shiny SW tags. Jammiedodger has a point- do people get lucky? Get noticed? Some people are definitely going to get overlooked. Maybe a 'member recognition' thread, in which members post who they think deserves a tag. Or would that be too much trouble... Plus, I'm sure you Moderators want more of the same annoyances that went with titles. <--- Edit: Hey look.

Er, what? put this in the 'what would you like to see in future CW episodes' topic. And use proper punctuation and grammar... -
Yep, I've done the black goggles. Looks nice. Easy customization on! (Scuba trooper's next. )

Maybe you're right. It would be awesome to see a clawdite. I'm still not sure how she'd manage to corrupt a clone- they're not stupid, and they're insanely loyal to the Republic. She'd have better luck getting at one of the defecting ARC troopers who are disgruntled with the Republic. As do I, as do I. -

Wow, that was a good episode. It actually had a very good center story, some arrogant chairman(?) who's really a jerk, pushing around this timid senator. Simply amazing. Did anyone read the web comic of it? Best one, I think. So sad. Though I do wonder how the Talz got past the giant doors in the base the first time. I'm kind of scared about the next one. A clone traitor? WTH? Clones aren't traitors. He'd better not have been offered credits or anything.... I mean, why would a clone betray his brothers? It's been stressed that clones can't be bribed or bought...maybe the death of one of his comrades made him change sides? -
I may not be your parent, but I am your teacher. Just wait 'till we get out of here, young sir. And since I am his teacher, I would like to take the gin and drink it myself.

OK, this settles it. I'm getting me an M8.
