  1. The speeder is just cool. It really looks old and rusty and some bumps would look cool on it. I have no idea how to achieve that though ... Abaout the swamp, something didn't feel right when I first looked at it and I just didn't know what. Now that Brickdoctor described the problem, I think that's it. It looks too random even for a swamp. The ground colors are random, which is ok, but then the foliage is also added randomly not looking beneath to the color of the ground, which leaves a messy result. I also like the fig and nice haircut dude
  2. I think that Adi Galia was saved for a CW set since her role is bigger there. But with CWs end, the future of these sets is unknown. We'll just have to wait and see. Nice review and I'm definitely getting this set ... *** must have all the jedi ***
  3. I really like the design of the new droid, but somehow the colors don't work for me. I understand that the helmet needs to be green, but maybe the light cone doesn't fit or the arm joints shouldn't be green. I don't know, you can give it a go and play a bit more with it ...
  4. Well the platform is a bit small for anything to land on it and I'd expect the building to be rounded, but we all know that's hard to manage with big circles ... Nevertheless it's a nice build but as said, I'd too skip the golden details.
  5. Republic Gunship must've been a planet set, we're getting the system one this summer?
  6. Here's another way how I'd do it - remember that SNOT should always be 2 studs for 5 plates, which means it's cool to have a even number of studs or vice versa, have a number of plates that is divisible by 5. In other cases, you always have a half plate gap to fill, since one stud is 2.5 plates SNOTed. That's why I'd make your closet 2 plates wider and it would look like this: Lxf file here ... Notice that the whole wardrobe is in 2 halves, connected only by the bottom white shelve. Also turning the light holding pieces the right way, makes your top red sqares positioned the same distance from each sides. Also notice that the center supporter is not attached to the bottom shelve. If you use the jumper plates in this situation, you'll get a 1/4 plate gap, which is impossible to fill! It's also possible like Brickdoctor showed you, but those pieces always leave a spare stud or hole especially in small builds. They're cool for inside the walls, where everything gets covered.
  7. The update looks grat! The bottom part looks much more crouded, like the real vents or engine rooms. Also the overhanging part looks great, since there's no limit for that in freebuilds, it makes the vig look not so bordered.
  8. Interesting ship. It'd be great to see it from the top - does it have an interior? Also I'd turn around the engine hatch, so that the good looking side is seen when it's closed instead of the bottom of the plates. And the ladder is a bit missplaced. It should reach the top or there's some kind of doors missing ...
  9. Awesome ship! Although for it's height it's quite to short and narrow. I'd really love to see Lego create wider hulls, but all in all I think this is the best QAR I've seen here! The rear windows is excellent!
  10. Cool build! I like the rock work and the platform also looks nice. But the central tower ... well it's out of this world ... outstanding!
  11. Yap, he looks quite badass, and these new Lone Ranger hats look a lot better than the ones from Indiana Jones. Thanks everybody else for nice comments, I'm really glad you appreiate my work and can't wait to find time for some more.
  12. This is a nice clean build wuth some very nice detail. As Brickdoctor said separating the two levels a bit more with a different style or color would make it even better.
  13. Nice work, I really like the idea of brown rocks. Also like the antenna rocket thingy, which I also had planed for my vig, but ran out of tan bricks for the base ...
  14. I understand that some people have very limited amount of Lego, but I still doubt Settle used all of his grays in this build. Sometimes people are just afraid to go big. I didn't want to say he should go 64 by 64 studs but more like st least 16x16 instead of what looks more like a cmf 8x8 vig. If this is not the case, he can still say that's all he has. I couldn't know that and just suggested how to improve the MOC.
  15. Very impressive for a rebel! I really like this build, it's small and has just enough detail so that the walls don't look plain. I'm more of a perfectionist so a few suggestions what I'd change. Maybe'd swap the symbol next to the door with a printed buttons tile. This looks as if only the droid is able to open the door. Also the wardrobe has a nasty gap. Squeeze it together just before taking the picture. But on the shelve there's clearly a half plate gap. Sometimes it's quite tricky to get it all right, but it's well worth the effort. Maybe some arm rests would fit the chair too. So losing your book eh? Next thing you'll forget your blaster just before the fight ...
  16. The roof needs some more work. Either some machinery, antena or at least some greeble. The speeder design is very nice, but I find it a bit too black blue and white. Maybe some more gray would help - to look like engines - for example the round studs could be gray. And it clearly lacks the windshield! I'm sure one of the troopers saw you guys and you're lucky he didn't bother to intervene!
  17. Hmmm, interesting to go so small, when the limitations are almost endless in this episode. I guess there might be some rules for smaller vigs later along the line, so I wouldn't go easy with this one. The room could easily be a lot bigger, and the walls could use some greeble (I think that greeble is one of the most used word in this part of forum). Also a nice touch at vigs is not to think square - as we are always used to, for bricks are square. For example you could easily add two black 4 studs wide plates - one for bottom and one for ceeling of the vent on two walls around the corner. Add a dead rebel or civilian and there's so much content added to the vig. It's a WIP, so don't be afraid to add more stuff! Nice idea poisoning the vents
  18. Ok, I'm not a Heroica player (never signed in for the lack of time) but I was thinking about creating something for this competition. I was thinking about some underground caves with a lot of ancient architecture. Something like Diablo sewers missions. Any idea if such thing exists in Heroica and where to find out more about it?
  19. Nice one Nom Carver! I especially like how the bridge came out. And the snoted round walls are also nice. In your final version you should consider placing the figs a bit different. Here it looks like you're standing in the line of fire and more Rebel scum should be on the ground
  20. If you check the players index, you'll see there's plenty of nonhuman characters already. Though if you're joining the Empire, I'd suggest you're human. Might save you some strangling
  21. Aaaah he meant the poor old Flaren? I really didn't get this one, since I'm the black character. Flaren is no smuggler, he only provides the shelter for me and some loose bits. He also knows some influential people in Mos Eisley which is more than welcome!
  22. A very cool MOC! Instantly recognizable scene. I'm only missing some more pillars and empty space in those buildings. That would make them more Elvish since almost none of them start with the wall. But never the less everything else looks fantastic and spot on!
  23. On Tonto's head? As in every other set
  24. Thanks for nice comments everyone, I'm glad you like it. It really came out quite as I imagined despite my LEGO being in two huge containers and using only the parts from the top of them. Luckily I had the LR and some Hobbit sets still assembled which helped a lot with the tan parts ... Yes I know exactly what you mean. I couldn't wait till today after finishing the MOC, so I took pictures at midnight. The room light and another table light + flash didn't seem to work. And all the reflections ... arrrgh! I was already thinking about buying a mini photo studio. I might consider retaking the pictures today at daylight. The sun is bright these days but as Vader already pointed out, he finds my lack of time disturbing - no strangling yet. Thanks for the tips and I really like how profis can smell from the picture exactly what I was doing. This kind of editing pictures to look decent is also quite time consuming. This is also a great chance to improve in this segment for me! Who's Theoden? Yes I have some more work like this ... in my head! But first I have a lot of sorting and organizing to do, hope I manage it before the first episode ends.
  25. I quite like this mini version of ship and as said before, despite a strange color scheme it still looks quite Star Warish and not like it's from the steampunk era. My favorite part is the sticking out antennas. The real challange for you now should be to build it in the minifig scale for your future use in episodes! As for the interior ... the walls look too plain and could use some decoration, but I see what you did there, greedy Rebel scum
