TOR III Entry (R3): An unexpected turn(coat)?
MstrOfPppts replied to the Inventor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Oh well, another experiment went wrong. Still it was a better plan than Sebeus' two sided flag ... nice comic! -
Nice idea for including all the finalists in a fight against each other. The MOCs are quite funny and that's one hell of a pan there. Also nice touch with my beard although I bough a red crab, just to make you If you have any problems dealing with the blues, I still have my Dreadnought parked in garage!

A lot of photoshop there and I know how timeconsuming that can be - if you're not a pro, that is, so well done ... though like in the other entry I miss more brickbuilt stuff. 3/4 photoshopped backgrounds with only figs on it, don't look too LEGOish to me. Well it might work with some more artistic sort of story. Also I'm not a big fan of the anime facial expressions and the black "anger clouds" ...

Hey guys, after quite a chaotic week with countless sleepless nights (including todays) I finally managed to finish my final entry. Sorry for being a tad bit late, but as our fellow redcoat said: I suppose that Admiral Pastry is the fat lady and hasn't sung yet, so I'm OK Anyway, here goes the true story about Jackie the Legend: Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone in this final round - although the winning group is quite obvious ...

Tournament of Retribution III Rules and Entries Overview
MstrOfPppts replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Pirate MOCs
Uhh guys, I'm going for the midnight anywhere in the world time deadline Hope I finish mine in about an hour ... -
Oh well, if that's the whole point ... ... english just aint my first language, so I don't give a s***. If I gave out titles everytime those blues make a mistake, this topic would've been twice as long !

Become a redcoat! Gain "inteligence"! - Because of this reply. I don't know who it's from, those pescy Pirates Administrators don't show on my profile page ... inteligence should not be in quotes, else it's fine!
-
Let me explain you that - when turned from blue to red, you also gain a very important thing in which we differ from bluecoats - inteligence. The subject quickly realizes that laying face down on the conveyor is a bit lame, so he turns around ... Nicely done dr-spock, just what we needed! But does it work on all bluecoats or is there a limit of amount of croisasnts that can still be fixed?

Nice photography and editing, I just find the images a bit small - to much border around. The story is also cool, and I like the idea of mixing the modfern era with it ...

Interesting entry and pretty funny. I have nothing against photoshop, I just miss more LEGO elements in the comic. All drawn background makes the comic feel a bit unLEEGOish, since it's just the figs there ...

What I like the most is that you've built a lot for this one. It's nice to see big MOCs in comics and there's a lot of space and a lot going on ... but it's somewhat cheap using the same (but succesfull) trick - showing your hairy buts. Should have saved this one for the finale, would be much funnier. And where are those cheeky scrubbers scrubbing themselves in the last picture?!
-
To the gallows with you ... that's not the redcoat's way, you know!

Thanks everyone for comments, and also thanks for blogging it ;) These bluecoats really gave us hardly any challange in this tournament ...

As it is done in the first post of this topic. I haven't tried it yet, but 2 studs wide fence on top and tiles beneath is one way to go. or more layers of tiles in different angles ... use your immagination. If I find time to make an example, I'll post it here.
-
Wow, a great spider! I really think the round legs do the trick - it's a lot better then the original in my oppinion. I also like the angled rocks but I think it could be done a bit better so that the straight edges are more hidden. Overall a very nice creation!

Pure Victory - Flushing the Bluecoat Excrement
MstrOfPppts replied to Capt. Stabbin's topic in Pirate MOCs
If he doesn't fit in, he'll at least get washed for a change! What a nice and tidy bathroom.- 11 replies

Nice build there Skalldyr, I really like the hands positioning. You stabbed him so hard, it made your hat jump a little ;)
-
Very cool idea, nice to see the red on top of the blue as always, but in a different time era ...

Future of SW Contest: Large Category Voting Thread
MstrOfPppts replied to Erdbeereis's topic in Watto's Junkyard
9. maedhros1980 - Ice Field Chase - 1 point (Really nice ships and the ice field is also well made!) 11. sunnyx - T5-B Heavy Ion Tank - 1 point (Although missing some real plot, I really love this build. Reminds me of the Starcraft siege tanks.) 12. pedro - Escape from Nar Shaddaa - 2 points (Very nice ship, story and the figs also fit into the plot very well.) 13. ACPin - Yoda's Legacy - 1 point (Great and huge build as always, so many things to like in the temple, just not too fond of yellow heads in licensed themes ... ) Good luck to everyone! -

5. Sparkart - Boba's Back.....Pack - 2 points (This is a very clever use of the troll and all it's accessories are very well made. It took me some time to figure out the scale!) 16. LukeClarenceVan - Where's Solo? - 2 points (A very clean build with a nice background story. Simple yet effective I'd say ... ) 18. Pablo94 - The Statue of Darth Vader - 1 point (Nice build on the Vader's statue it really makes him a bit chubby, just like the LEGO figs are.) Good luck to everyone else! -
Excellent competition. Thanks to the organizer(s) and all the participants. There really was something to see! And of course congrats to winners.

I think we'll be getting Adi Gallia in her Clone Wars version. Same "hair" piecemaybe a different printing + the CW version of head printing. She was in quite some episodes ...
-
If there is a new Pirate theme I hope we get some updated Bluecoats. Current ones really look outdated like all Bluecoats are in their heads ...

Jabba's Palace and the 2011 Millennium Falcon. Both awesome sets!

Tournament of Retribution III - Redcoats voting
MstrOfPppts replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Pirate MOCs
Captain gabe, you only get 5 points to arrange amongst the entries. Also Brickington, seems you have a spare point :D Editing voting posts is usually forbidden, so please contact the staff to edit the posts for you. At least you gabe, since you're not allowed 6 points ...
