  1. But what if they do one with a couple more goats? :P
  2. Lego has uploaded more listings for some of next year's sets—71428 and 71431 (which were already leaked), and 71432 (which was not)! Love that Cheep Chomp!
  3. I definitely understand this argument, especially if it's for something like a newly recolored part (especially important to have the option if a non-decorated version otherwise wouldn't even be available yet). Of course, I doubt anyone cares whether they have an extra unprinted white 2x2 tile in this case. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the way stickers were used in this set, but understand why it happened—the set had the budget for one new printed part and used it on the minifigure torso (which looks stellar). The same happened with the Blacktron Cruiser set. And in this case, the fact that the scroll isn't printed ultimately doesn't affect me much since the sticker merely recreates a part I already have from my own childhood.
  4. Is that LBG or white? Either would be the first time in quite a while but it's a little hard to tell whether or not it matches the white parts above it. Also, obviously less versatile, but the upcoming City space station seems to use the quarter circle gears from the Bucket Wheel Excavator in Medium Azure Sand Blue. EDIT: Just been corrected on the color, looks like Sand Blue (which feels like a more appropriate color for a mechanical-looking part like this).
  5. Not for GWPs they don't.
  6. I think the orange color in the new space sets might also be the new reddish-orange color that's also been spotted in Monkie Kid and Friends. I think it looks really good with the white and azure!
  7. If they were to add Dreamzzz figures to BAM a part of me wishes it'd be new variants like the "awake" versions of the characters, which all have their own great outfit designs (most of which would also be more versatile for your average City builder). You can see most of them here. I think the Classic Space shirt and labcoat might be especially popular! Something like that wouldn't be unheard of for BAM given that we got Arin and Sora variants in the batch of Ninjago parts. And something like BAM might be the best opportunity to get those sorts of figs since obviously the Dreamzzz sets themselves are focused mainly on the adventures in the dream world, where the characters have their more fantastical designs.
  8. Somehow if we get a Cypress tree back I doubt it'd be in a polybag like those VIP packs—those are some big parts!
  9. Interviews about the new Monkie Kid have confirmed that the pagoda in that set uses a new reddish orange color. With other sets like this one where we've only gotten poor-quality picture it's obviously a little less certain that that's what's being used—but knowing that there's a new color being introduced, and knowing that often when Lego introduces a color they like to use it relatively liberally to help build up a usable selection of parts, it wouldn't surprise me if that new color is being used here.
  10. I suppose that's smart since having him clip the side of the scroll like a normal tile would risk crumpling the sticker.
  11. Hm... yeah, feels mostly like a cheaper, smaller version of the previous mech (with some features from the original too, like the banners). Not totally a bad thing (lord knows the prices in this theme can be high), but since I'm pretty satisfied with this year's mech I might skip this new one unless there's some really good figs or side builds.
  12. Interesting... looks like the new space sets might be using that new reddish orange color as a significant part of their color scheme? I think it definitely works—feels appropriately spacey.
  13. Orient Express definitely looks Earth Blue. The Friends house you posted has an Earth Blue roof with Bright Blue trim.
  14. It's used for the pagoda roof in 80054: You can also see it used in one of the new Friends sets—it's in the stripes on the upper walls between red and orange parts which makes for a great point of comparison with existing colors: https://brickset.com/sets/42639-1/{Mansion}
  15. Your impression isn't ENTIRELY wrong. Many of the games involve Link having to rescue Zelda, and some of the more recent ones have established that she is the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia. Another aspect of the series that could pose interesting opportunities/challenges for a Lego theme is the fact that, stylistically, the visuals for the series vary wildly. Some of the games, like Wind Waker, have a very cartoony art style, while others like Twilight Princess have a grittier, more realistic (though still highly stylized) look. Adapting these varying visual styles to minifigures could be somewhat of a challenge. Back in the day I thought the best way to deal with that would be to have a distinct "Lego" reinterpretation of the franchise that didn't adapt any one game in the series directly, but rather established its own version. But given the popularity of the various games in the series, I think most fans would be more interested in a more direct adaptation of some of the various games' icons. Apart from minifigures, a big part of the series is its gameplay, which combines action/adventure combat with puzzle solving in various dungeons. I hope that sets based on the series would adapt this aspect as well, with physical play features based on the various types of puzzles and traps the games feature. The Mario sets have certainly showcased that Lego has plenty of designers adept at turning digital gameplay mechanics into physical play features.
  16. Zelda games mostly don't have character customization—some of the games allow you to rename Link, or have alternate outfits that you can equip for various purposes, but that's pretty much it. Zelda games tend to have fairly robust stories (at least compared to something like Mario), usually focused on different versions of recurring characters like Link (the main hero), Zelda (the magical princess), and Ganon/Ganondorf (the evil warlord/sorceror).
  17. I can't wait until we have more pictures of some of those sets like the mansion or Olly and Paisley's houses... Friends sets generally have really good interiors so I'm itching to see what those sets have in store.
  18. First one to use a transparent head as a head might be the Exploriens droid: https://brickset.com/minifigs/sp010a
  19. I don't think that's necessarily what you should be getting from that. The thing about specialized parts like that turret corner is that building something similar out of smaller, more basic parts generally allows MORE play options, not less (considering that rebuilding is one of the major play patterns of Lego, and that smaller, more versatile parts tend to offer more options where that's concerned).
  20. You read through the topic from beginning to end? Dang, that's dedication!
  21. With the introduction of a new reddish orange color that's been spotted in some of next year's Friends and Monkie Kid sets, a part of me wonders if we might see a big Icons/Architecture set of the Golden Gate Bridge. Previous reds and oranges have been a poor match for the distinct "international orange" paint used for the bridge, but this new reddish orange seems like it might hit the sweet spot between Bright Red and Bright Orange that Lego's been lacking up until now.
  22. True, it's not used heavily there. Getting a little off-topic from Monkie Kid, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Lego plans to use the color for a big Lego Icons set of the Golden Gate Bridge—the reddish orange color would be a pretty good match for the distinct "international orange" color of the landmark, in a way that existing red or orange colors would've fallen short of.
  23. The mansion set actually does, it uses it with other colors for the sunset-y gradient on the walls.
  24. So far it seems to be used in tandem with the classic leaf mold, so I wouldn't worry about the older one going away. The old one is good for when you need a lot of connection points whereas this new one seems to be focused more on shaping and coverage.
  25. Huh, a part of me was wondering if I should skip the Bowser car set (since even though it looks great I already have two Bowsers from his castle and Peach's), but I just noticed that this one actually redesigns his hands to look better.
