  1. Could be something related to the rollout of the Power Functions 2.0 system introduced in the WeDo line. In fact, it could be both—a new Mindstorms based on PF2.0
  2. What are you even upset about, specifically? If it's the availability of the concept art, BZPower has the full artbook available to download in PDF form for free. But if you dislike the contents of the art, there's not much I can do for you—I think it's gorgeous. And if you do like it... well, in that case I don't see the point of insulting the company that produced it.
  3. Spoiling the villains wouldn't be a problem except on a leaked list of names like this, considering they'd appear in pictures and descriptions of the sets themselves. Which isn't to say these names are necessarily fake... just that "not spoiling the villains" probably isn't the priority.
  4. It'd be hard to add knee joints while maintaining the elegant shaping, and to be honest the legs of the Queen Dragon seem to be as rigid as they are in part to support the weight of such a large creature even when not all four legs are touching the ground. If you really want to try to add knee joints, your best bet might be something like click hinges that are both reasonably compact and effective at holding a pose without buckling.
  5. I think so? Usually that exclusivity only really applies in specific regions, so a set that is exclusive to Target in the U.S. might be exclusive to a different store in the U.K. and might just be available at regular retail in other countries. And you should be able to order those sets from the Lego shop website regardless of where you live—it's only the physical Lego Brand Retail locations that no longer stock other retailers' exclusives.
  6. While you can't order individual parts from them, Brickset has a fairly good parts database sourced from Lego's own replacement parts site (but made much easier to navigate and browse). Bricklink and similar sites are good for ordering parts but when building on LDD I tend to prefer Brickset since it is much more consistent with the official part names, color names, and Design ID numbers used in LDD itself.
  7. Probably not. A quick Google search for the Super Hero Girls version of the character suggests that he might not wear a helmet or mask at all. Mini-dolls and minifigs have the same head size and are compatible with most of the same hair and headgear pieces.
  8. Yup. Do keep in mind that the date and specific terms of the offer are likely to be different in other regions, though.
  9. That their job is making toys for children, and a cartoon adventure series is just a better fit for that than an adult mystery series that focuses heavily on murder? Jeez, the whiners are out in full force for this review. For my part, I'm not really a fan of Adventure Time, but this seems like a decent little set for fans of the show. It's a fairly good adaptation of the original proposal, as well (with some figures like Princess Bubblegum and the penguin arguably improved). Unless I do get interested in Adventure Time I probably won't have much interest in this set, and there are certainly no small number of projects I would have preferred that have failed review. But you won't see me complaining about this set's mere existence because I'm a mature adult who recognizes that the world doesn't revolve solely around myself and my interests.
  10. Lego Designer Mark Stafford actually addressed this question on Reddit.
  11. Ugh. Lego can't shut that company down soon enough. It's not going to have any effect on the price Lego charges, you can be sure of that.
  12. BZPower just posted a picture of a box containing it earlier! Hoping I get a chance to get my hands on one of these!
  13. The Green NRG Dragon from this year arguably used bigfig arms even more creatively, as muscular pectoral muscles on the dragon itself! As for "Apollo studs", that's actually a weird case. Tim Johnson from the site The New Elementary mistakenly called them that in a review after having misheard someone describing one as "a hollow stud" and thinking "Apollo stud" was an official or unofficial nickname for that part. And for a lot of people, Tim's accidental name stuck.
  14. I certainly doubt they're meant to boost the target audience—after all, they're only even visible in the trailers for a few seconds, and it's not like the potential audience for a movie about both Lego (one of the world's most popular toys) and Batman (one of the world's most popular superheroes) is small enough to need to advertise to whatever small number of diehard Wizard of Oz fans exist in the world. :P We also have no idea what context those characters appear in, based on the trailers alone. They could just be easter eggs, and for all we know they might even be part of a dream sequence or something (a context that would make a lot of sense considering this version of Batman's past escapades as a Master Builder who has traveled between "realms"). It's possible they play a larger role in the plot to somehow tie the film more closely to the "Lego Cinematic Universe", but until we have more to go on I'm not going to take that as a given.
  15. Um... hate to burst your bubble, but they didn't say January 1st specifically. They said "in the beginning of the new year", which could easily mean "near the start of the year" and not necessarily that exact date. I mean, if there's a more authoritative source on that date than a vaguely-worded Twitter reply I'll be happy to hear it, but if not... just don't get out your torches and pitchforks if the premiere date turns out to be later.
  16. It's probably wishful thinking, but yesterday it struck me how great the new Mr. Freeze/Red Hood armor piece could be for an updated Ogel... it'd certainly make for a good complement to the Series 16 "Spy" (who was clearly an updated version of Alpha Team's Dash). Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, but I couldn't find a "wishlist" topic anywhere...
  17. Minidoll Flash... These sets sound awesome, and it's a real treat to (accidentally) get product descriptions this early!
  18. I wonder if next year's seasonal sets will all be outdoor vignettes, the same way 2015's were indoor vignettes...
  19. They introduced an age cap on Lego magazine subscriptions last year, unfortunately. But you can still read every issue for free digitally on club.lego.com, or pick up free copies at Lego Brand Retail stores.
  20. That sketch seems to use Bright Reddish Violet, which I'm sure would do fine (having tried to make SU MOCs before, color matching can be a challenge due to the show's use of dynamic lighting, but Bright Reddish Violet seems to be a good match for her post-Season 1 design).
  21. Personally Ruina's set is one of the ones that appeals to me, based on both the function and the overall look (not to mention the fantastic fig selection). It does have an issue that a lot of the new sets have, though, that being using that smooth 4x4 Technic turbine piece as wheels. I'm not fond of that choice in next year's sets, since it's much less chunky and textured than the wheels I'd gotten used to seeing in Nexo Knights.
  22. Maybe she got married since the last time she showed up in a set? No telling. Heck, it could even be her father for all we know.
  23. Those are amazing! Not sure how I feel about the super long "Toy Story" legs for Garnet, though—while she's certainly statuesque in the show, she never struck me as THAT out of proportion compared to your average adult character. I also was thinking today that while it obviously wouldn't be my ideal solution (considering that I'd want physical figs of as many characters as possible), it might be easiest to just do a single level pack with Steven (with Greg's Van and Lion as mini-builds), and have the other Crystal Gems playable with Steven's figure, like with the Ghostbusters figures. The counterpoint (apart from wanting the figs, obviously) is that the Crystal Gems have more discrete powers than most of those other multi-character figures. But then you're left with the question of what sort of mini-builds each of the other Crystal Gems would get... Pearl could maybe have her Pearlbot, or the Universe Mach 3, but Garnet doesn't really tend to "do" vehicles, and Amethyst is more likely to just turn into one than anything else. :P
  24. I don't think the characters not translating well to minifigures is really the case. While obviously any translation to classic minifigures might leave something to be desired thanks to the diverse body types in the show (particularly for the rail-thin Pearl), I think custom hairpieces and decorations would still go a long way toward making the characters recognizable. I definitely disagree about Cartoon Network treating it as a "more mature IP"—while they're pretty late to the game on merchandise in general (though toys are on the way), it's still very much a kids' show and is marketed and promoted as such. Beyond that, a lot of the IPs represented in Lego Dimensions are ones that you're less likely to see in your general toy aisle—look at Portal, Fantastic Beasts, and any number of the classic '80s franchises that have been added to the game. I do think its inclusion in Year 3 is not entirely unlikely, especially if (like Year 2) Year 3 focuses almost entirely on newly added franchises.
  25. I would've guessed her husband, but I suppose brother is possible too!
