  1. You’ve been awarded (7) points. Judges’ comments… So I''ll start with your presentation, top notch and you really stepped up your game there. Everything is very visible and clear. Nicely done. The temple is interesting and you incorporated a few different things and overall the quality on the temple looks very good with a solid structure. I was a little dissapointed with your terrain, everything was too flat and lacked any real detail. Overall, a solid build and look forward to seeing your progress next round! Well you built a temple/religious mission as a depot for weapons...and that's what we see! When I first saw it, I did not expect a lot of room for storage of the supplies, but once we got in depth with the pictures, I was able to see more. The temple felt a little basic, maybe try to add a few more building details; simple additions can make a world of difference. Your terrain also felt very basic. I appreciate the dropping of the dirt paths and non grass areas, but maybe throw in a little extra grass clum here or there. Unless it s artificial turf or a pro sports field, grass is NEVER that perfect! The solid background really helped to not draw away from any of your pictures, and it looks like you also had an external light source aimed at the build? Maybe try to place the light overhead to create less shadows, but I wouldn't hold that against your score. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  2. Phase 2 will launch after the holidays. If we do it early, we'll have zero turn out. We are in the process of reviewing the Campaign builds.
  3. Dude.... wow....
  4. We haven't announced which countries will be playable yet. I would ask that all members who intend to return for Phase 2 please post up here and state whether or not you will be keeping your current country. Existing players will get first crack at new countries.
  5. Just under 2 weeks to go
  6. If you want them to be. It will be up to each player to shape the country as they see fit based on the missions you are given and how you elaborate on them with side missions.
  7. Just because you don't own them doesn't mean you wont be fighting in them in the beginning. Yes You'll have to wait and see.
  8. They are their own nation.
  9. VERY NICELY DONE! Phenomenal build. It's a shame that threads like this don't get more praise. This should be front paged.
  10. This is a mistake and we all missed it. Thank you. 1. Any country that currently has 2 players will still have 2 players (provided they don't decide to change countries). Any new county or country with no current players will be restricted to just one at the beginning. 2. Alliances are not a priority for round 2. We agreed as a staff that the alliances seriously hurt the game play. The game will primarily be focused on single player game play this time around. Alliances may come down the road, but not in the beginning. 3. We will do a roll call at some point for everyone to confirm they are still here and have the intent to continue. 4. Some of the newer countries will get a little write up, especially those that will not be playable in the beginning. 5. More rules will come in time. 6. Map will eventually be posted in the highest res available, this is just a preview. The borders are the bright lines you see all over the map. All of the names are clear, but some look a little smaller due to current resolution.
  11. Phase 2 The year is 2019. The Brick World is, as it often finds itself, in a state of tension and uncertainty. The eastern countries on the super continent find themselves plagues economically and politically due to strains caused by the international Drug Cartels based out of Val Verde. Val Verde has become a ripe breeding ground for not only narcotic influence, but also a home to freedom fighters from all walks of life and sections of the world. The international community has been both unable and unwilling to take any joint action against the country. Run adrift due to corruption stemming from drug money, the goverment puts on a face to the international community some times throwing them a bone to try and show some form of progress. The unspoken truth is that those with money and power behind the scenes are the real government. Aside from the actual problems founded in narcotics and weapons coming in and out of the country, it has also created a number of tense relationships between neighboring countries. Trioluan and the Coral Islands are often at ends with each other over enforcing travel through the Straigh of Pellon cutting through the continent. On the other side, Plantasea and the Coral Islands over enforce traffic coming into Eagle Ridge Bay and often times find each other in tense stand offs over who has the right to enforce control over the waterway entry. Unilateral talks to commit any international efforts in Val Verde collapsed due to failures from Fulkasho and Latveria. Fulkasho was once a rich agriculturally based country which fell victim to religious extremism. With it's close proximity to Val Verde, both narcotics and weapons are often trafficked back forth between the two countries through both Plantasea and Toohati. The Fulkasho Government has turned a blind eye to its neighbors troubles as long as the money and guns keep flowing across international boundaries. A recent attack on a freighter from Filace was traced back to a group in Fulkasho. The Filace Air Force leveled the compound in which the attack was planned in an overwhelming show of force drawing sharp criticism from the international community as the Fulkasho Government claims this was a Red Brick Medical Facility providing aid and relief to international refugees. On the other hand the government of Latveria has shut itself out from the world after strong economic sanctions nearly crippled them a few years prior. Latveria attempted to handle the influx of terrorism in Fulkasho and the drugs flowing from Val Verde on it's own with no international support. Their actions were sweeping and brutal boasting some of the most skilled and advanced military forces in the world. Many atrocities were committed relating to international war crimes, but the international community did not risk open war by charging any of those involved. Latveria turned their economy around and is now largely self sufficient. Restructuring was carried out under the leadership of Dr. Victor Von Doom, a prominent political leader who siezed power early in his rise. Von Doom transformed the country into a totalitarian state with little pushback from the people as he was seen as the hero who saved their country. Von Doom has not been seen publicly in over 5 years after several failed assasination attempts. The last was made by an agent from Plantasea who was put on trial and executed on Television for the world to see. Often considered an aggressor nation, the world has largely left Latveria alone in recent years in hopes of not provoking anything. The north east is plagues by it's own problematic situations. Another secluded nation sits atop the continent in Tosul. A socialist country with a crippled economy that threatens stability to the world through constant provocation of it's neighboring countries. Tosul's people starve while they develop long range rockets to try and reach some of their most out spoken oponents in Erotema and the Deland Republic. Neighboring Spriznulo often finds itself in border disputes with Tosul, some times ending in small skirmishes in the mountainous region. Turning westward, a piracy ring has formed in the northern sea based out of the Isle of Rahz. Government forces have struggled to try and keep the situation at bay but are losing the battle more and more every day. Last year a fleet of old war ships out of Bandaud that had been quasi-converted and used for humanitarian efforts were sailing to the islands off the coast of Deland and Tosul to provide relief to Tsunami victims. Enroute the vessels were attacked by pirates from the Isle of Rahz and the ships were siezed. The ships have since been converted back to military purposes and are being used to confront vessels coming within range of the Isle. The issue has yet to see any form of resolution by the international community. Further West, the country of Walara has been engaged an a long war with Priunulia in an attempt to retake control over the area after they broke away from Walara over 15 years ago. Walara has been supported in it's endeavor by it's close ally in Plighia but Priunulia has been getting aid in all forms from supporters in New Brickika and Erotema creating a small proxy war setting between all of these nations; though shots thus far have only been fired inside Priunulia. In the south, New Selussia and the Commonwealth of Souther Territories have found themselves fending off claims to territorial rights over the nearby islands with Plighia, Swintoc, and Fulkasho. With powder kegs spread throughout the world, one must question which one will go off first? 12. You're attacking insurgents, not the formal military. Terrorists (in general) don't have air or naval bases. But we've given you vague outlines for 3 different countries and environments to build here. Your imagination is really what ties it together!
  13. @sigpro check your inbox.
  14. We will not be providing public back stories at the start. Your country is going to change geographically though and we are going to be throwing things your way to change your stories. Also, as of now, several players have perks for Phase 2 that they have been saving. Those of you who do, or believe you are owed one, please PM me so I can check our tallies.
  15. Seconding everything @Stash2Sixx said above. The focus really is on your building and getting better at it while sharing a mutual passion for military themed builds. Phase II of our game will be rolling out soon and will be grounded more so in a real world context where people will not be perpetually at war with other nations, but handling certain situations as they arise. Joining now would be a good chance for you to get your feet wet before phase 2 rolls out. Hope to hear more from you!
  16. The Final Battle Campaign Guidelines With the recent influx of intelligence gathering being carried out around the world, the Servants of Freedom have been tracked all around the world. Forces from all nations have uncovered what appears to be one of the largest conspiracies in history. The Servants of Freedom has been outed as a front organization used to do the bidding of several rogue nations. Tosul, Nak-Hu, and Fulkasho have been hosting and acting in conjunction with one another to try and destabilize the world's alliances through the Servants of Freedom. Countries around the world have found a number of facilities in the host countries that need to be destroyed. In Tosul, a training facility and housing barracks was spotted in the Forested mountains. Nak-Hu has been revealed to be using religious missions as fronts for weapons depots. Several factories inside of Fulkasho have long been suspect of being arms manufacturing plants; this turned out to be true, but for the SoF. Players are to show their forces attacking these facilities inside of the host countries in order to try and eradicate the SoF Threat Globally. You can use any one of the loosely described theaters listed above. Neither side should show their forces definitively destroying the opposition. Showing successes is okay, but not total domination. The winners of the campaign will be decided based on the points awarded from judging. This means if your team doesn't score well, it's possible for your forces to be beaten back. MINIMUM SIZE BUILD IS 16 X 16 All LDD Builds must be labeled- Example: (GBW- CP9) Country - Title of build (LDD) All builds must be new MOC’s and not prior builds. Photo Editing is to be kept to a minimum with only real edits of lighting and color correction. No special effects. Players may crop one picture of their MOC onto a background picture to help with their landscape if they’d like. Pictures cannot be bigger than 800x600 Players may post a link to an offsite host such as Flickr where Higher Resolution pics are located. Be cool and share your photos in the GBW Flickr Group! Please refer to the General Rules Topic for limitations based on your Point Level. Upon completion, players must also post a link to their build in the AAR Thread as well letting the judges know that it is eligible for scoring. Campaign Duration 10/9/18 - 11/26/18 All builds will not be finalized until the closing date for the campaign. Players can edit their posts up until that point. 17. You’ve been awarded (8) points. Judges’ comments… Favorite thing about this, the fence. I really like how you took the radiator tiles and snapped them into the baseplate to create a fence line! I thought the buildings were good, but you have a lot of empty wasted space inside the fence line. Maybe another few buildings to create teh illusion of a street system within the base? Your pics were great, but watch out that the base is flat or at least doesn't bubble up in the back right corner. We all had a kick with the microscale theme and yours was just as nice of an addition. Your perspective photos looks great and it shows you built this with a clear image in mind. Some of your ideas here are so clean and basic, but in a way that compliments the build quite nicely. Your assembly with the grated bar pieces looks really cool and was a very nice touch. I think this is a great build and this microscale stuff has some strong potential for the future. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  18. You’ve been awarded (7) points. Judges’ comments… You've got a good looking assembly room here. I noticed a few details, but all of that open, white tled floor is very distracting, almost like it needs more junk (details) on top of it. I like where you're going, please don't read into that! There just feels like a lot of empty, unused space in this build. I would also suggest placing a light over your shoulder on an angle or directly above your build as it comes across a bit dark the further back into the build we go. Love that you built a scissor lift. Don't see that too much in LEGO. I like the layout here. Good use of space, your satellite looks great and I sat looking at the design for a bit to try and figure it out. The chains, pulleys, jack/lift all compliment everything very nicely here. My only complaint here, honestly, is the use of the dark colors for the building itself. Most satellites and things like that are built in clean rooms and everything is super bright. I didnt dock any points for this as it is simply a personal preference but I do think some of the details could have benefited from a little more lighting. Nice work! Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  19. Apologies for the delay all, I had a personal family matter to deal with last week. Hoping to have some stuff out to you all shortly for the next campaign.
  20. Welcome. I saw your posts. Make sure you read everything over before jumping right in. Contract missions have been placed on hold until the next phase of the game. Additionally, you will want to look at what others have done in the past and make sure you are ready for that. Lastly, you'll need to post any of your pictures on here, I highly recommend using flickr or some sort of related service to host your photos that you post up. Good luck and again welcome.
