42053 - Volvo EW160E

Yes apparently. We can't see a spring and the post is thick, so perhaps the spring is inside now. It also may be blue but this is not clear in the video. -

screenshot of CLAAS Video showing piece count of Volvo (1166) https://www.dropbox.com/s/xchl7sh4aco6su3/Picture1.png?preview=Picture1.png I'm amazed! Perhaps the set isn't that small, but we felt it small only next to the other 3 monsters. for instance, 1166 is very close to 42039 -

I did some math in the BWE forum, I think the BWE is not €300. -
42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator

Some say its €300 and it may be logical although we would be happier if it was £180. But comparing with the Arocs at 2800pieces/€200 vs 4000pieces/€300 we get 14pieces/€ vs 13.3pieces/€. This means Arocs (MB License included) is cheaper piece wise. So I dought this is the case, £180 ~ €235 makes more sense. On the otherhand, the Porsche has big license fees and RC as we expect and makes more sense for €300 -

Wasn't the BWE been officially announced earlier to cost 180£? -

I didn't meet silver beams or panels before but I wonder how would this color perform in the long term. We know that gray and white don't do good. If silver does good then it would make this car astonishing. -

TLG did a good job this time with 4 sets to satisfy most AFOLs so I'd be thankful. Remember if u hate the BWE, well, 1st there are many of us who do like it much. 2nd, we didn't see yet all what it would offer to judge it fairly yet. http://brickset.com/sets/42055 It looks like this with 42042 would create a great MOC? or it will be the "ultimate BWE" ? and then maybe the Arocs would be its complimentary truck. -

Well its Porsche and they did it in Red option. Remember this is LEGO parts, so White and Grey are pale. Neither most of us would chose Purple I guess. -

I would chose red -
Poor Arocs all of a sudden, and too soon it flips from being the great Technic queen to a very normal pervious. I'm sure many who were still planning to buy it may reconsider now, especially those who wanted it for inventory fill up, function complexity, or even beauty. The new sets satisfy these aspects way more. A question pops here, what did TLG keep as distinct features of Arocs not available in one of the new sets. I can't find any except for the Pneumatic system is certainly more complete than the Volvo. If I were TLG I would now be regretting not giving the Arocs a distinct color. I think it's 99.99% just one model. It's marketed to be highly elegant. So a B model appears to lower its image. Of course thats only my thought.

I agree that the orange parts are weird, they better been yellow. But I still like this compact model with a lot of functionality. -

Guys these white stickers are the thing or just a disguize? Another question: In the video, anybody has idea what these rubber bands at the dashboard are? -
Cart: 1x 42053 1x 42054 1x 42055 Checkout! Come on TLG you really made a great job with these sets. I think all of us must find his joy in at least one of these sets. LEGO Technic is never itself as much as its today. The Volvo is elegant The Xerion wheels oh wow!! The BWE is the "Theory of Everything" of Technic. I can't believe my eyes, come on!!!!! Congrats guys

Not sure if this was noted here: one comment from the authors in the Brickset article (in yellow) that all except the Volvo had PF. My speculation: I think there'll be an L in 42054 and 42055 while RC goes to the 42056. Let's hope for a new RC system with a powerful motor and wireless. Its maybe the reason to hide this set.

Maybe a collection of rubbery bricks? But not in the hundreds. Don't forget there are long belts and that maybe in hundreds of pieces. Nevertheless, I'm optimistic on these 2H sets and expect them to be very interesting and perhaps thats the reason they are deeply hidden. Maybe TLG has put most of its Technic efforts this year on 2H sets

Will we ever have modular Technic sets? Currently this is only seen someway in the pullback combination. This Volvo EWE inspires me to think that it can have several tools as several subsets. I can imagine in the future a basic truck like 42041 that when combined with a subset can become like 42043 or similar to 42009 or other stuff such as fire or dump truck. Of course there can be several subsets and a set may serve as complimentary to A or B model of the main set with so many possibilities. Would that not also be a useful strategy for increasing sales? :-)
