Reading comprehension must be down. A number of people have had that on their list of complaints regarding Mickey, myself included. Congratulations on being right, though. We're all so very, very, very, very, very proud. Is it still funny?- 4,155 replies

I disagree, Genie's head piece will surely be used for something else, but I have no idea what. What convinced me is the fact that his "hair" is just Shakespeare's quill plugged into a hole on the headpiece.- 4,155 replies

-Buzz: Agreed -Mickey: Face doesn't bother me, but more and more I'm realizing that the huge bare black chest is an issue. Even with the regular-length legs, it would look a lot better if the printing for the shorts continued onto the torso a bit. He looks too long. -Cheshire Cat: Complete and utter disagreement. On all counts. I'm quite happy to have him. He might be my fave of the wave.- 4,155 replies

The lack of accessories is a bit puzzling. There are two prints for the Incredi-folks, but that seems to be it. I mean, sure I want the fencing sword in gold, but that's not much. Someone mentioned bread for Aladdin, which would have been better than duplicating the exact same lamp. The lack of other characters as accessories is surprising, and I wonder what I means for characters like Pluto, Chip and Dale, Jiminy Cricket, etc. (Though I would love a Jiminy Cricket minifigure!) Then again, that didn't happen for the Simpsons until series 2. Isn't there already a Flounder mold from the DP line? How hard would that have been? I disagree with you on the resemblance-factor, but to each their own. I also love the Genie, and I really like the figure. I dislike the gap present in the regular head + headpiece combo, but the face print looks so spot-on, personality-wise, that I can't help but like it. I could have definitely gotten behind a molded head, but I still like this a lot. Same here! Actually not bad at all! I may have to rescind my earlier statement. He looks much better in the clearer picture. Also, Syndrome has Clone Wars eyes. To summarize: we will never be happy. Yay!- 4,155 replies

To be fair, Two-Face or Ventriloquist, or even Jafar, may still appear in the Ra's Al Ghul set or the fabled 4th Civil War set. Now that I think about it, Jafar will DEFINITELY be in the 4th Civil War set, because: Disney. Me too!! I'm so very glad that he's more than just an accessory!- 4,155 replies

Arg, you and me both. I actually really like the Genie figure, I think I turned out well. The grin really helps sell the face. And the ears are quite interesting. All IMO of course. What were you hoping for from a Genie minifig, exactly? This looks about like I had hoped, so I am curious. As for Mickey and Friends, yeah, they look....off. Not so much "scary" as "incredibly disconcerting". Some of these figs, I'll need to see better pictures or to see them IRL before I decide. Yeah, those are both solid points. I don't think she looks bad, per se, but I don't know if I like her. Oh well, there's plenty that I DO like!- 4,155 replies

First thought: CHESIRE CAT MINIFIG! I WIN THE INTERNETZ! Follow-up thoughts: -Cheshire cat looks amazing!! -As do Peter Pan and Aladdin, in particular. New hairpiece with incorporated fez!! Updated 11th Doctor hairpiece, just need it in brown! -Buzz Lightyear looks awful, IMO, but just because I really like the molded head version and would have preferred that, since I don't own it yet. Some people seem ti like this version, and that's cool, now we have both, I guess. But the Alien is just odd. Dual-molded short legs really didn't seem necessary to me, but it's been a long time since I've seen the movies, maybe that's more accurate. -Captain Hook needed the molded head. I know some people will prefer the version we got, but man, I think he needs it. He's the only one the I don't really care for just because of that. Genie, Maleficent, Ursula, etc all look fine with normal heads. (I'll still get him, though) -The Mouses and Ducks definitely seem too tall. The proportions would look better with short legs. But that skirt piece is interesting! Love the heads! -Maleficent and Stitch both look great (though I don't care about Stitch), but it's really weird that everyone has a counterpart/co-star except these two. -Alice's face looks weird. Couldn't tell you why. But is that a new hairpiece? It looks wavier than I recall seeing. Lots of cool new hairpieces! -CHESHIRE CAT!! WOOO!! Okay, I guess that's it until I read the 37 posts made after I started typing.- 4,155 replies

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

I would have to disagree. The black suit/yellow oval is Keaton. '89 Batman is where that suit came from. Any other appearance (in any medium) that has that suit is borrowing it from the Keaton Batman. If you're saying there is no SET specifically based on Keaton's Batman, well, I can't comment on that. I know that I don't have one. The Two-Face set, as has been mentioned, is based on the B:TAS design. Is that what you're saying? Unrelated to that, I just got back from TRU, where I snagged the Gotham City Cycle Chase, so I guess I'll be talking about that in my next post! (For anyone interested, they also had plenty of Easter Chicken Suit Guys. TRU Buford, Georgia.)- 8,446 replies

Just picked up the Easter Chicken Suit Guy from one of my local TRUs (Buford, Georgia). They had plenty (30+), if you're in that area and interested.

I'm having the same thoughts about the Midway pack. I played the heck out of Spy Hunter, but that's the only one I recognized, I think. Definitely curious, but unsure. Oh yeah, I loved the Doctor's role in the main story, that was great, as is having the Doctor and multiples of that screwdriver. (The Ideas set was amazing, too. I don't think I'll ever dismantle the TARDIS exterior. So beautiful!). I have way too many Superman minifigs already, and I don't really think I need him for any reason, but I still really want to fly around in Dimensions as Superman. (I <3 Superman.) Stay-Puft is the exact opposite: no real interest in using him in-game, but that fig is amazing. I forgot to quote the exact post, but that's mildly encouraging news about the developers' Twitter responses. Small steps, I suppose. I really want Adventure Time confirmation, since that's my most anticipated rumored addition. Please oh please!

Sorry, I think I was having a bad day, but yeah, we're getting a bit Who-heavy. I honestly don't mind too much. I'm not reporting any posts or anything, it's just getting to be a bit much. I will say that LEGO Dimensions is what ignited my interest in Doctor Who in the first place. I pretty much devoured all of the nu-Who over the course of a month after playing the Who levels, so yeah, I don't mind too much, but when I check back here for LD discussion (or, please Jebus, NEWS), and it's just pages of Who stuff I'm not interested in. (Sorry, no interest in classic Who.) I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but maybe add some on-topic thoughts, too. I, also, am annoyed at the lack of Aquaman. I just want to save Ralph Wiggum, is that so wrong? That and, to a lesser extent, the Midway pack, are the only things left that I'm looking forward to in-game. I really want Stay-Puft, but will probably not use him much in-game. I guess basically we just have nothing to talk about. My apologies for every capital "G" after the sixth in my original post :)

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG can we move all of this crap to a Doctor Who thread????

Happy Birthday! Someone got you a copy of Kindergarten Cop?? That's hilarious! I hope you wanted it! Enjoy all the new Dimensions additions, too!

Just to be clear, I don't necessarily think this is what they will do, nor do I necessarily think this is what they OUGHT to do. It was just a thought that occurred. I honestly don't know which way I would prefer, and I can imagine each scenario capable of providing us with a fantastic figure. I just wanted to respond to your points with a devil's advocate-style rebuttal. In the animated Disney film, the film I assume this is being based on (though I could be wrong) C.C. could shape, change size, become intangible, etc, so I don't really think scale has to be a factor. He's magic. Your point about the Simpsons' animals mirrors a similar thought I had. Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II both look great, but they are relegated to the secondary role of accessory, and their size reflects not only their scale but their secondary nature, whereas Itchy and Scratchy are far closer to first-string characters, which I would imagine is a big part of why they got their own minifigures instead of being included as accessories for Bart or Milhouse or Krusty. Their nature as animated characters in-world means that scale doesn't have to factor in. I don't imagine them to be Simpsons-world characters dressed as Itchy and Scratchy, or otherwise try to explain their scale, they are just minifig sized representations of the characters. And I'm okay with that, personally. (I'm picturing an Ewok/Wookie-style headpiece/furry body, with "triple"-molded striped short legs. THINK ABOUT IT. A large enough piece to do justice to that huge grin.) The only other line of reasoning I have is the Cheshire Cat's popularity versus that of Alice. I may be judging incorrectly, but the ancillary characters have always seemed to be more popular than Alice herself, especially the Cheshire Cat. The only other character I could see being more popular than him is the Mad Hatter, but only more recently, and largely as a result of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's depiction. And considering, for example, that soon TLG will have produced Jasmine (Disney Princess line), the Genie, and Jafar, but not Aladdin, it wouldn't really surprise me to get the cat but not the girl. I think I want an Alice figure with a Cheshire Cat accessory AND a Cheshire Cat figure with an Alice accessory. Problem solved.- 4,155 replies

This may be dumb, but I had a thought: did Tragic Banjo really confirm Alice? He definitely (however slyly) confirmed the Cheshire Cat, and everyone just assumed he would come as an accessory for Alice. But what if he is actually one of the "creature" minifigs that we're supposed to be getting? He's surely anthropomorphized enough to be made as his own figure, I would think. I have no idea what accessory he could come with himself, I just wonder if an animal-sized Chesire Cat accessory would do the character justice, a character who is arguably more popular than Alice herself. Dumb or not?- 4,155 replies

Your last statement, in particular, mirrors exactly how I feel. As for the rest of your post: I don't have EVERY pack, but I definitely have 2/3-3/4 of everything. Unlike you though, I guess I DO regret some of those pennies.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. I'm intrigued by it, but I'm really not sure what to expect. As for needing certain characters: I've already bought a metric ton, so I'm not too worried about lacking certain abilities. We'll see...
-
Completely agreed on all counts. Except I don't have a daughter. Upgrading to Xbox One also helped kill a bit of momentum for me. Loading up the new save game and seeing how many trivial gold bricks I'd need to get again was pretty discouraging. And while I am very much looking forward to having a Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man minifigure, there's nothing but Aquaman's Atlantis capabilities to really look forward to in-game. And whatever you need Slimer for, I guess. A reveal for new additions to the main story and main franchises would definitely help bring some more interest back to this game. I keep coming back here checking for news, but it's only over people talking about the game. That's perfectly fine, but some information would be even better. Oh well.

rob-ot5000 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I got what you were saying originally, and I was going to address that more than I did before I went on a tangent about Superman (hence the repost of your original comment). I think I actually agree with you more than my comment may have let on. Some figures sorely need that extra bit, some don't. And for some figs that DO have that extra something (dual-mold, printing, new faun legs), they look much better for it, while others don't gain a lot. (Again, IMO obviously. I'm the only person in the world, I think, that thinks the Silver Centurion Iron Man is too detailed, so what do I know? But that's mostly a preference for comic versions over movie versions) I definitely agree that the '66 Mr. Freeze looks just fine without printing, which wouldn't be appropriate, or dual-molded legs, which I don't find necessary for him. Classic Superman, to gush again, absolutely deserves to have those dual-molded legs. He is easily 13* times better than he was before I swapped them out, and he now has a place in my heart as one of my favorite minifigures ever, which is fitting since he is one of my favorite characters ever. They should definitely release one like that at some point. We just got the movie version, so I'm sure we'll get the classic version sooner or later. *Yes, this has been scientifically verified. I know a guy.- 8,446 replies
