  1. $1049AUD hahahahah what the hell, I wouldn't even pay $800
  2. Oh I was right, it is using the BMW front shocks!
  3. It is, but it's at a 40% discount, which suggests to me they're trying to clear out remaining stock
  4. Ah something I don't like - there's only four wire rope lines going down to the hook! Granted, it would've been more complex to rig, but eight lines would've been nice, along with a heavier hook with some extra weight to keep the wires tensioned. It would've been a good opportunity to introduce the 3L diameter pulley wheel but with a pin hole
  5. Lol I am convinced that if they used medium size sprockets instead of the large ones it would have looked more proportional
  6. I like it, not for the price but in a vacuum I still like it
  7. Dear lord yes this is fantastic, and welcome!
  8. Oh I do like that, very creative idea Pretty cool that you managed to squeeze it all into the same form factor as the original set
  9. Oof, bit of a shame about the slack in the steering and the plastic tyres. I was really hoping they'd be dual moulded rubber with plastic spokes. I reckon I'll still pick it up on sale, if I can find it for $100AUD
  10. Oh I reeeaaally don't like that as a solution for an official set. I'd much prefer they brick-build wheel covers
  11. The CLAAS tyres are already pretty close though, doubt TLC would think it worth the effort
  12. One of my dream sets would be a completely manual logging truck with a pneumatic crane and extendable self-steering trailer, in the Mack Anthem scale:
  13. I'm very likely in the minority here, but damn I wish the upcoming Liebherr wasn't Control+, especially given how slow it'll undoubtedly be. Not only could it be far more affordable, but I also love when huge and slow models have gearboxes that require levers to operate them, like the BWE. You have to get your hands on the machine and physically interact with it to make it work. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity for my tastes, but I could understand why others may disagree.
  14. Not sure but at first glance I don't think so, I think it's just the straight connector. To me it doesn't look like there's enough space for a biscuit frame and pinion gear in that 4L high assembly of green frames, based on this photo:
  15. Yeah except they don't do it for large Technic sets very often? It's happened in the past every now and again so it's definitely possible, it's just statistically unlikely, so it's reasonable to assume the leak is what we're gonna get. No need to get all antsy and start calling us gullible lol
  16. Oh man you're right :O What the hell this is really cool
  17. So that when someone decides they wanna motorize it, they have the drivetrain parts to do so
  18. A Speed Champions MOC is a much simpler affair because it's just a Speed Champions car, not a 3000 piece behemoth
  19. For a set this size, I'm honestly very surprised that it doesn't have any electronics That's a pretty welcome change of pace Also holy crap, four XL cylinders??? Wowza, I'm really impressed by this so far
  20. Not really much they can do about that without a bulky hub I feel I'm a fan, looks quite nice
  21. Some the bombs on the carpet wouldn't happen to be light enough to, say, hang from a crane?
  22. Do I see black BMW shocks helping support the derrick?
  23. Umm..... yes. Those are my priorities, so I can't really say I care to be honest. If it's heavy machinery I'm far more interested in the play and functions, and as long as it doesn't look goofy as hell and generally resembles the machine I'm more or less happy. If it's something like a car that relies entirely on aesthetics then I'd be far more critical Again though, if the price is true then it's ridiculous regardless of how it looks
  24. Huge in the sense that it's the big complex and interesting configuration, not the small simple and boring configuration. In all honesty I'm happy it's not some 2.5m behemoth with the same repetitive boom sections going on for half the build
  25. Aesthetics shmaesthetics, it's a bloody crawler crane so I can't really say I care too much about how the proportions. That being said it is a bit poopy that they're just using regular Technic tank treads here. Lots of functions like in the real thing, but it's also in the huge luffing jib configuration which I really like. Until I see it though I refuse to believe they're charging $1000 AUD for this, because that would be hilariously catastrophic.
