  1. Oh one thing I do actually really like about the set is the teal seat
  2. Only for shareholder business... which unfortunately Lego is
  3. That's exactly what I was thinking. The great thing about PF was that it facilitated compatible aftermarket solutions
  4. The right direction was to head back to PF but replace the IR with 2.4GHz.
  5. Ahh I love the rear suspension, really clever idea to use the ball socket joints the other way round!
  6. Let's just... not use such language here please... also completely inaccurate term, since buying it is 100% a choice.
  7. Yeah it's just a reflection, you can see three other reflected pistons right next to it in the position as the ones above. I think that whole surface is black tiles 2 studs wide
  8. 100000000% agree with this. It's 2025, every household that can afford a $400 Technic set has zero excuse to not already have a AA charger.
  9. That's definitely true, hadn't considered that.
  10. If it really does have such a complex gear train then I am stunned, I might actually buy this for once!
  11. Pretty much depends on how much force you put on the steering knob. It probably won't take much effort to stop it from spinning out
  12. I swear I remember seeing in the video that the rear wheels spin faster than the front when it drifts, so maybe it engages a higher gear for the rear axle?
  13. Yeah it's called using both ports in the battery box lmao. Either: A) Run two motors in parallel, or B) Split up the drive and digging functions. One motor for the drive gearbox, one motor for the digging gearbox. I said this on the first or second page, but I think this was designed as an RC model originally, but then the designer/s had to pivot halfway through and weren't given enough time to make it work properly. Why not just the regular valve, a dumb motor and a spring assembly like what the Lego Sports ice hockey players used?
  14. This would be a great use for a 1x4 link, for compact live axles
  15. If I wanted to spend $600 on Technic, I'd just quit the hobby and buy an RC aircraft and transmitter, or buy seven Master Grade Gundam kits, or buy two of CaDA's RC excavators.
  16. Unfortunately not, the 360 view shows that the 5x7 frame which houses the rear differential is pinned at both ends, which means it's pendular. Bit of a shame but hey
  17. Hahahah, I can already see the smug small Lego retailers like Toyworld insisting on keeping to that price. Honestly no idea what the Technic department have been smoking the past five years
  18. I'm not so sure it's Lime. I think it's Yellowish-Green going by Bricklink's colour guide, which is weird considering the real car does use lime.
  19. (You should mention how much of a waste the missed opportunity was and my little conspiracy theory on why this set turned out the way it did)
  20. All these questions - you already gathering data for your breaking news video? I believe it's the first time we've had them in black. We got them five years ago in LBG for the Liebherr R9800
  21. I wonder if what really happened here was: Designer/s were working on an RC model They got rug pulled and had to remove almost all the C+/PU components halfway through development They had to pivot to a non-RC, motorized model and didn't have enough time to design a full powertrain, leading to completely barebones functions with an extremely simplified gearbox Management refused to give the designers more time, or to budge on the price point
  22. Bucket attachment/clamp. Note the worm gear and the rubber band
  23. MSRP is a completely arbitrary number. The actual actual value of this set will be determined by wholesale costs and backdoor deals with retailers, to the point that I think we'll be able to find this for 200-250 EUR very soon. The Zetros price absolutely plummeted during its run, down to nearly half-price. I think the REAL damage we should be talking about is the missed opportunity cost. How long do we now have to wait before we get another non-RC, motorized excavator flagship with a full suite of functions? Another five years? They had one chance here to make it, and all they could come up with was four individual functions that can't be operated simultaneously. Are the bean counters now going to use this set as an excuse to never do a non-RC flagship scale excavator again? This is an 18+ set, FFS. It's a gorgeous model, but it's a half-baked shelf queen. Like god dammit, there's no excuse to sh*t the bed this hard.
  24. I'm really liking how densely packed the functions all seem to be in this model
  25. Kinda funny how the headlights in the front make it give more Aventador vibes than Revuelto
