42212 Ferrari FXX K

Yeah it's just a reflection, you can see three other reflected pistons right next to it in the position as the ones above. I think that whole surface is black tiles 2 studs wide -
Yeah it's called using both ports in the battery box lmao. Either: A) Run two motors in parallel, or B) Split up the drive and digging functions. One motor for the drive gearbox, one motor for the digging gearbox. I said this on the first or second page, but I think this was designed as an RC model originally, but then the designer/s had to pivot halfway through and weren't given enough time to make it work properly. Why not just the regular valve, a dumb motor and a spring assembly like what the Lego Sports ice hockey players used?

This would be a great use for a 1x4 link, for compact live axles -

Unfortunately not, the 360 view shows that the 5x7 frame which houses the rear differential is pinned at both ends, which means it's pendular. Bit of a shame but hey -
I wonder if what really happened here was: Designer/s were working on an RC model They got rug pulled and had to remove almost all the C+/PU components halfway through development They had to pivot to a non-RC, motorized model and didn't have enough time to design a full powertrain, leading to completely barebones functions with an extremely simplified gearbox Management refused to give the designers more time, or to budge on the price point

MSRP is a completely arbitrary number. The actual actual value of this set will be determined by wholesale costs and backdoor deals with retailers, to the point that I think we'll be able to find this for 200-250 EUR very soon. The Zetros price absolutely plummeted during its run, down to nearly half-price. I think the REAL damage we should be talking about is the missed opportunity cost. How long do we now have to wait before we get another non-RC, motorized excavator flagship with a full suite of functions? Another five years? They had one chance here to make it, and all they could come up with was four individual functions that can't be operated simultaneously. Are the bean counters now going to use this set as an excuse to never do a non-RC flagship scale excavator again? This is an 18+ set, FFS. It's a gorgeous model, but it's a half-baked shelf queen. Like god dammit, there's no excuse to sh*t the bed this hard.
