  1. It probably wasn't clear, so I'll try to explain it again. The LR13000 can come either with or without a jib, see below (taken from the Liebherr site): There's an extra winch right above the counterweights which controls the angle of the orange boom. If the model includes an adjustable jib as well as a winch for the orange boom, then in total there would have to be four motors in the superstructure. We know there are only six, so something must be excluded. Therefore, I think that either the set won't come with a jib, or the angle of the orange boom won't be controllable i.e. no winch near the counterweights. It's one or the other. You could argue that there could be a distribution gearbox with two motor inputs and two outputs, but that would be very weird to play with because you wouldn't be able to control all functions independently. Finally, I haven't managed to find even a single photo of an LR1300 without the orange boom in the rear. That's why I think it's possible (not likely or unlikely, just possible) that it won't come with a jib.
  2. With crawler cranes sometimes you see additional rigging near the counterweight: If the set comes with a jib then with six motors this extra one can't be included
  3. Interesting that there's six motors. That means that either there's no luffing jib or there's no winch near the counterweight that large crawler cranes tend to have
  4. @Maaboo35 Man I really don’t like that guy’s Soyjak thumbnails
  5. I wonder what the purpose here could be? The only thing I could think of is that either the spur gears have more efficient tooth profiles, or their thinner size means their sides aren't rubbing against beams? If it's neither of those two then it would be strange to introduce new gears that are the same in every way other than not being able to be used as bevel gears.
  6. I mean have the steering motor not control the handlebars, but the side arms
  7. Quite impressive. Thoughts on having the steering just control the tilting, and letting the castor angle on the front fork do the steering?
  8. The argument that they don’t want to reveal small details is just cringe. It’s Lego Technic - you can’t catch small details. Even if you could, then that’s easily worked around by just doing the base 2022 car prototype and using the 2022 livery. The only reason I could see that this didn’t have the actual 2022 livery is because McLaren wouldn’t have it ready by the production deadline. I agree that this set should have released later with the 2022 livery, but I’m not too bothered. I think it’s a nice successor to 42000, even if it could have been better by featuring a removable nose wing and rear wing
  9. @thor_64 I'd be very interested to see your design working in a video :O It's very cool
  10. Why discourage the fight for what can only make a set better?
  11. Lol at the round plates on the front of the tyres, that’s gonna look pretty shitty. Other than that, quite a nice looking set
  12. Now that this thread exists, I think it'd be useful to compile a list of CaDA brand pieces with frequent moulding issues, since in my time with the Centenario I've come across a fair few
  13. God I hope we also get to see Danny open it, not just Lando
  14. While I’m not really a fan of the real car, I think this is the kind of angular bodywork that Technic does a very good job of recreating. It’s a very impressive model
  15. The front’s definitely possible - 9392 did it after all. The rear may be a bit more complex though since there’s two axles
  16. Doesn’t change that they’re pendular wishbones would have been far cooler
  17. I find it such a hilarious joke that a single hub like that costs $400AUD
  18. I see, fair enough. Remember to try to gear up your gearboxes so they run at high speed and low torque - should make shifting easier
  19. We can judge based on a similar set, which is what Gumalca is doing
  20. Oh sorry, I wrongly interpreted the other guy's comment as "it sounds like there's more than just two grey cylinders"
  21. Oh my god now you’ve got me worried that it won’t be an adjustable boom
  22. If it's only ~2900 pieces then I'd expect the carrier to be quite small in scale, and for it to have a luffing jib too. That would make seven functions, maybe even eight going by this image: 2x Tracks 1x Slew 1x Back winch 1x Main boom 1x Luffing Jig 1x/2x Hook The realist in me though thinks that they'll only do one hook (wouldn't be enough motor sockets in a smart hub ) and won't include that extra winch at the lower rear. For $600USD I would seriously hope that there's some seriously large pieces and complex mechanisms, because that price is just ridiculous.
  23. Very happy to hear we're getting another pneumatic excavator , but I wonder how many cylinders this one will have. The pessimist in me predicts that since there's only supposed to be two grey cylinders, those will be the two for the boom and stick, with one extra in the claw. For this really high price (compared to 42053) I would really hope that the outriggers and the adjustable cabin are also pneumatic, especially considering that it isn't motorized... I dunno, when I stick it into Google Translate it sounds like they are the only two :S
