  1. Thank you for posting the list from HJR, sam89. I can't wait to see what these new sets are going to look like. I *wub* that TLC made the Taj Mahal to go with the Eiffel Tower. I also can't wait to see if the Town Plan is a "City" set or a "Factory" set to go with the Market Street & Cafe Corner. I would agree that 2008 sounds like it will be quite a year. I am definitly looking forward to the new sets.
  2. Very cool looking poster *sweet* . Does the story take place in the Bermuda Triangle? With the image of the skull, the Bermuda Triangle was my first thought. I also can't wait for the story.

I highly recommend a motorized "B" unit if you want to pull all the cars. I am not sure if you know what I mean by a "B" unit, but basically it looks like the locomotive without the cab. You will need two motors for the train. I have done experiments myself and found this to be the solution to such a problem. Have fun and Model On!!
  4. Your mosaics were very, very awesome SirNadroj. I definitly give you two *y* up for your work. And what a great cause *sweet* . This was very, very nice of you to do. I hope they will bring in a lot of money for the children too. Model On!!
  5. Your review was great Paksu. I give you two *y* up. I hope this set will be available through S@H in the US. Otherwise, we usually miss out on these kinds of sets. Ebay is nice, but sometimes the price can get a bit too expensive. Thanks again for the review.
  6. Thank you for the feedback on my scale factor Phred. I am glad to hear my factor was not too confusing to understand. I thought maybe it could be. Again great forum. Model On!! :-)
  7. Welcome to EB Paksu. Your story was very interesting. I am glad to see another "Townie" in the group. I know you will enjoy the rest of the gang. They are a great bunch here. Model On!!
  8. I definitly give you two *y* up for the effort. What does the inside look like? I also agree that a second garage bay is needed. Plus, maybe add a second storey for sleeping quarters, kitchen & sitting area. Many small town stations have a second storey for such uses. I think your MOC is a great start Poomerio. Model On!!
  9. Very, very *sweet* MOC PaulC. I *wub* the way you were able to design and model Optimus in the 4-wide concept. I definitly give you two *y* up. Model On!!
  10. Your MOC is very, very *sweet* Brickster. The way you used the railing pieces for the wheel was great. I definitly give you two *y* up. Model On!!
  11. Sinner, your Aqua Raider MOC's are very, very *sweet* . I really *wub* the track design you came up with for the crawler. I give you two *y* up for these. AWESOME WORK. Model On!!
  12. Thank you Asuka for that link. I have never heard of Kiddicraft. A very interesting story.

I have some thoughts for you about the SC, Poomerio. I am glad to hear you have sent in an order for this set through S@H. You will not be disappointed. There are two reasons this set is worth it. 1) The design of this set is very, very good. TLC did a great job at modeling the locomotive to the real one. 2) I am pretty sure the license agreement with BNSF has expired so picking this up now was a smart move. TLC will not be producing another one, unless they resign the license, but we will definitly see. As to the motorization of the locomotive. I highly recommend you build a "B" unit for you consist. The weight of the five cars plus the locomotive is quite a bit for the single motor. You will definitly need two to get the train moving at a good speed. Model On!!
  14. I have recently added some decals to a MOC and I highlighted the decal with a sharpie. I began to brush over the decal with the semi-gloss clear coat used for model cars & trains. As I brushed over the decal, the red color began to run and turn orange. I highly recommend thinking about the marker idea for two reasons. 1) If you plan to coat over the area you highlighted, the marker will not work. You will run into the same results I did. 2) The highlighted area will also begin to rub off if handled over and over. The color will bleed onto your hands and then to what other areas you work on next. My suggestion to you is I would use model paint before using a sharpie. Go down to your local hobby store/model store and compare Lego yellow with the variety of paints available. This is what I am up against too. I see no harm in using model paint. Think of it as decorating your MOC's like TLC decorates bricks. There really is no difference. Good luck and Model On!!
  15. Thank you Ickelpete for that great review. I give you two *y* up. I am not a technic fan, but this set definitly looks *sweet* . I see great potential using this set as a model for a smaller dozer for my town/train layout. I really *wub* the crawler tracks they used. I have been thinking about buying the snowmobile for the tracks. But if possible, I just might buy this set instead. I could definitly use the other parts for MOC's. Model On!!
  16. I definitly *wub* Lego bricks & sets so much better than Megablocks. But I bought the Megablocks Ford GT model 4 years ago. The reason was it is a cheap model and I thought the look was very *sweet* . I do not mix them myself but if you want to, I see no reason for a debate. I would like to see TLC design models similar to some of the Megablocks models. What I like about the Megablock models is the realism they have. If TLC designed more Ferrari's or other models with the solid look, then I would think it was *sweet* . But TLC cuts corners and uses technic paneling for most. I think the look of the technic panels are :-X . Model Team was an excellent line for TLC. I really liked the looks of those models, REALISM. As for MOC's, I leave that up to the modeler. Parts are parts I would say, but I am Lego all the way. Model On!!
  17. I have caught a couple episodes, but I did not really get into it. I would agree that spending that much time in 50 below weather would definitly begin to play a strain on your nerves. To me, that would fall under a dangerous/dirty job. Surprised Discovery Channels, Mike Rowe hasn't done that story. Maybe the two channels are rivals. I say this because only certain people could handle such a job.
  18. I definitly thought Mr. Muscle was the best. I give this model two *y* up for two reasons. First, I was born in 1977, and second this model has that Starsky & Hutch feeling. I think this model was very, very well done. Model On!!
  19. I was hoping to see other "City" sets other than Police. I hope there will be more to come. I can't wait to see what the Indy Jones sets will look like. I hope they are not cheap looking. I am curious about the impulse theme as well. I can't wait to see what they look like too.
  20. Very, very awesome layout Joebot. I definitly give you two *y* up for your town. I especially *wub* your underwater case. I thought this was a greaaat idea. I never thought of doing this in my layout. A very good way to display the Divers theme. Very cool, Model On!!
  21. I would like to add my input to this forum. I definitly like the old grey better. But I also like the dark grey as well. But the new bluish-grey just drives me insane. I am currently working on a MOC and needed dark grey. I had to definitly look over my parts under major lighting to tell the difference. This drove me NUTS. I would have to give TLC two *n* down for this move. They definitly needed to keep the old grey and only release the dark grey. Hopefully I will find a use for the bluish-grey. Right now I use it for engines or objects that are not seen much. MODEL ON!!
  22. This is a very interesting forum. I wanted to add that I use a pretty crazy scale factor. I have come up with a scale factor of 1:54.54. I know this seems very odd, but I have noticed that with this scale factor, my 8-wide locomotives come out to being about 11.3 scale feet wide. Roughly close to actual width. I then take that scale and use it for length and height. I know some of you would think this is very weird since at this scale the minifig is about 6.8 feet tall. But as I have been modeling some MOC's after existing loco's & cars, I see that my scale fits very well with the existing track & minifig. I came up with this scale in order for my models to go around the existing rails. I have done calculations of my own and have come up with figures that show the scale of the track versus the scale of the wheels do not match. They are both totally different scales, and no matter how hard you try to incorporate them together, the loco & cars would look very odd on the rails. Not to mention the width of the MOC's would be off compared to the wheels as well. I am glad this forum has been created for discussion. I have wondered what scales others have come up with. Always fun to find out. MODEL ON!!
  23. Welcome to EB Marcosaki. Your "City" is very, very *sweet* . I am very familiar with many of those sets. I am a Town/Train fanatic myself and own many of the same. I give you two *y* up for that layout. Well done and Model On!!
  24. I really like these sets for the new wheel hubs. I am using these hubs with the larger tires from the original Racers Big Rig for my cars. These work great for such models. They are slightly smaller than the wheels on the Terrain Crusher. Those wheels are great for pick-up trucks and vans.
  25. Very nicely done Ribatagus. I give you two *y* up for your MOC's. I particularly like the Steam Roller. What parts did you use for the roller wheel? I have been looking for the right type of part(s) for a roller myself. In the US, your models would be a Road Grader, Steam Roller, Dump Truck (of course) and Paver. Model On!!
