(CUSTOM) PRINTED Hogwarts Torsos
Darkdragon replied to Geertos13's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Well that's just outragous unless a huge chunk of it is a pad printing setup fee. I am not saying $5 is a ripoff (I would have to guess at that price he is not pad printing but I have no idea). Just saying it's a lot if, for example, you need 100. Though perhaps there is a price break on a job like that.- 20 replies

BrickForge WW2 RiGGED Wave 2
Darkdragon replied to Armothe's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Some really great parts in here. I especially like the Field Cap. The Rucksack design is really nice looking as well. I"m glad they can be purchased individually and not just in "complete" packs. Are the Stick Grenades two peices that fit together or just one molded and painted?- 4 replies

(CUSTOM) PRINTED Hogwarts Torsos
Darkdragon replied to Geertos13's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Looks pretty good. I would not consider this a purist figure but I know what you mean, printed vs stickered. It will definitely look a lot better in the film to have all printed parts. $5 per torso seems like a lot to me, but I'm cheap. For my one and only large HP build I used the "hogwarts" torsos in place of the other houses though even those were a bit hard to get ahold of/find, they were only around $1 each on bricklink. It's a real shame TLG didn't do anything for the other houses. Would have benn nice to be able to do a purist build with something other than the two.- 20 replies

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

That mic accessory is really sweet. I wish LEGO would make one instead of always painting it on...maybe some day. Is it possible to order just the accessories for this figure? -

Ideas for doing a cricket bat and cricket player?
Darkdragon replied to jonwil's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Anything built with bricks will be bulky and anything from weapons/utensils will prbably require modifications. I'd imagine that's why the 3rd party part was created, it is too bad they are so stingy on the tan ones. This seems like the closest shape and is cheap enough that it's probably what I'd go with if I was doing this, I'd cut off the extra tip part and possibly paint it. Do the bats ever come in silver color like this? Minifig, Weapon Sword, Uruk-hai Pure purist version, I'd think this sign plus a 1x3 tile would be your best bet. Minifig, Utensil Signal Paddle -
Nintendo needs to stop releasing incremental updates to low end systems and just put some real money into R&D. They are falling way behind the others now and are on the verge of following in the footsteps of Sega.

I don't know but I'd be doubtful. One of the things i didn't like about Nanoblock is that the studs are so tall, I doubt they'll redesign Modulex to be compatible.

I don't currently have any pets of my own, but I miss my dog Bullet and my cat Charlie. Bullet passed away last year and I don't have Charlie (but I heard recently that he is healthy and happy and still the best kitty ever).

Brick Film: Robbery in the West!
Darkdragon replied to Captain Settle's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Looks like a good start. I think the flicker (whether added or part of the filming process) works well in this case, but the shakiness of the set/camera is a bit unbearable at times. I like the use of the silent movie cards, just watch those fast cuts between the action and cards as they can be a bit disorienting. Glad to see some new animators around.- 3 replies

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Darkdragon replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I wish there were some Kamen Rider figs. MegaBlok Power Rangers don't count as toku figs to me (personally can't stand MB figures in any of the lines they have come out with) On a related note, I did pick up the full set of DeCool Dragonball figs. I'm impressed with everything but the legs, which I'm in the process of switching out. The lego-like parts (some small parts and weapons) are way too stealy-clone for me, so I've tossed them and will replace with real lego parts if I even use them. -

I must purchase that. -
In the future, please don't repost a topic, simply reply to it an ask for it to be moved. It's a good start. You'll want to get more light next time so it's not as muddy and be sure to lock down your camera and set so that there isn't unwanted shifting/movement of the scene.

Material required for selling on eBay
Darkdragon replied to kinggregus's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
A note on sending figs in small padded envelopes: be sure to wrap in bubble or at least wad up a piece of paper to shove in there. If the envelop is under 1/2 inch thick, there is a chance they will try to run it through the auot-sort machine (in the USA anyway). You don't want to see what happens to a fig that runs through those things. I've had it happen, it's not pretty. The extra paper or wrap doesn't add enough weight to change the shipping cost. -

Who are the best minifig customizers at Eurobricks?
Darkdragon replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
I think the answer to this depends greatly on what your endgoal is. There are people that are great at various parts of customizing but not necessarily every part. There are people great at every part but they are running a small business, so that might not fit your needs as far as cost is concerned. Decal Design? Waterslide implementation? Direct printing? (pad? inkjet?) Custom molding/hair/etc? Full figure design, parts collecting, and packaging?
