Latest CMF series impact on Historic themes
x105Black replied to SirBlake's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Agreed. These are the most appealing to Castle fans. Little by little we are getting things. I can't wait for a nice medieval Castle series to use all of these recent pieces. The image above by Robert8 left out the Egyptian. I'd like to see that shield in use as well. -
I'm sure that there are kids (boys and girls both) who would welcome a princess. And while you may be right about the Ninjago precedent, 'Castle' themes almost always have a princess. I'd be more surprised if they didn't do it, especially after seeing both the image from the show and the Queen minifigure. Then again, I didn't think they'd make a futuristic Castle theme to begin with, so what do I know?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

I agree, 4 x 1 is too thin. I'm guessing it's the same old 4 x 2 piece, as proposed in the Marie Antoinette minifigure. I actually do like the tail. Sharks need tails. Same here. Really looking forward to it. -

They're definitely identifiable as Homer and Marge. They just don't have those big obnoxious molded heads. Anyways, back on topic, does anyone have any additional information about this series?- 4,155 replies

I thought those were just generic City themed people behind. Well I'm not into the Animal Control Officer, although I might be interested in the animal. And if that's the Jewel Thief, I am disappointed. I was hoping for more of a cat-burglar. He looks more like a soccer fan with a vuvuzela, but I get the New Years celebration so it's probably not that at all. So is that other guy the Astronaut? If so, again, disappointed. -

They actually look fine like this. I would have bought more minifigures if they were like this, more versatility.- 4,155 replies

I'm guessing that this means Macy will have it in a future set.

Thanks for the image! The crutches are interesting. I'm excited about that Queen, she looks great! The flipper arms, I'm a little torn on. I think I might have preferred arms, but those might be cool. Now let's see the rest of them! -
It's pretty awesome, definitely. My friend got it, and it is certainly a great set. But put it next to the Creator Expert Modulars, and it looks kind of junky by comparison. It's not even in the same league. What I'm hoping Castle gets is something more like the Modulars, beyond what the Ninjago Temple brought about. Maybe something like the Temple could be good for Nexo Knights as a 14+ set, but I'm hoping Castle gets something in the 16+ range. I'm sure there are gaps in their information. I'm not saying we know more than they do, just that they don't know everything, and that they may not see a market where there actually may be one. I agree, though, it would be great to see the LEGO community come together to provide our own data. They didn't have to make Nexo Knights. They could have increased the age range of Castle to cover that age range. Again, I don't get why the themes in the 7-14 range have to be these 'media driven' action adventure themes. But if that's the case, a good quality medieval television show could have worked.

I absolutely do think that. It's common for jewel thieves to be portrayed as female cat-burglars. I just have no interest in most modern day minifigures. Although, she could be wearing a really cool black outfit, and we don't get many females dressed that way. I can easily imagine that it could. I also really hope that it is. While the piece isn't new, it's use as a dress is, and it would be a nice change from the traditional slope piece. -

The decision to go with molded heads may have impacted sales (as I said earlier). True, it may not be the only factor, but I'd say it's significant, and something LEGO may have paid attention to. You're right, though. We don't know why they decide the way they do. We don't know why they decided to scrap medieval fantasy and give us the garish Nexo Knights, but they did. We have no idea why they decided to make molded heads on the Simpsons. And when this Disney series launches, we will have no idea why they chose their characters or styles the way they did. Still, I'm hoping humans have normal minifigure heads. It's the most likely and the most preferred.- 4,155 replies

Yeah, I'm hoping for new feathered wings in the same style as the gargoyle's wings. Hoping to see both used in fantasy Castle sets down the road. -

I never quite understood that. It's a great cartoon. But back to the point, I think a significant number of LEGO fans would shy away from the molded heads as they aren't as useful outside of that context. That's what I was hearing about Simpsons (and part of why I only had a few). Animal characters, on the other hand, molded heads for sure. I'd love a molded head Baloo or Sully, but a regular head Hook or Evil Queen as Witch.- 4,155 replies

I don't think they're likely to use molded heads on human characters. Sure, they did it for the Simpsons, but you'll notice they haven't been selling. Nearly everywhere I go that sells minifigures, there are still way too many Simpsons Series 2 available (I even found some Series 1 a couple of weeks ago). I also don't think it will look as good. I really don't think Hook would need a molded head for you to recognize the character. I'm really hoping for some good uses of the long legs, though.- 4,155 replies

Thanks for the information! That's the kind of leak we need. Now we wait for pictures. A few of these sound nice. Obviously the Satyr appeals to me. Also, the Winged Warrior, the Queen, the Scary Knight, the Tribal Woman, and the Shark Costume Guy. Most of the rest sound like the same old typical modern people. I think the Knight (translated as either Scary or Evil) is likely to be on the 'Scary' side, since we've already had an Evil Knight in 2012. I'll have to wait for pictures to be sure, but it sounds like there's not too much for a Classic Castle fan like me. That Satyr should be great, though, so I can't really complain (yet). -
It would only show then that large expensive sets based on their television shows are in demand. They don't seem to always know how to interpret their sales data.
