This is a beautiful build! I love the rock and landscaping. I also really like the plants in the terrace by the main gate. The tree is also really well done. The building itself is really nice. I like the colors used. The white and light blue work really well together, and the contrast with the darker colors of the building and rooftops helps them to pop even more. I also like the use of the flower pots, and the main gate looks great. The story also works very nicely. Great work!

Megablocks (sorry) Star Trek The Original Series!

Fair enough. Again, my aim wasn't to disrespect Mega Bloks fans, or to discourage them from coming here. I was genuinely interested in the sets, and wanted to give my honest opinions.- 68 replies

I doubt they would deviate from the appearance in the show too much. The hammer seems likely, despite its similarity to the mace.

I believe that Space and Star Wars can coexist just as easily as Castle and Nexo Knights, which is to say that they very easily could.

It always bothers me when a MOC thread doesn't have images in the thread: This is a really nice ship. The red color scheme looks good, and the sails are great. I also like the added touch of the big axe up front. Nice work!

Well, Clay uses a dark blue helmet (which is certainly preferable to regular blue). I would hope that a purple knight would wear dark purple rather than the regular purple that Ava wears.

No, there are other reasons for that. Ninjago is unappealing to me. Not a fan of the sky pirates, though I do like the green / brown color scheme. I am not a fan of what City has been doing lately. I do like a lot of things in the Fun in the Park set, though. I never liked Bionicle, constraction doesn't really feel like LEGO. Star Wars is a little weak if you're like me and prefer locations to ships. That said, the ships are looking good. Minecraft is great, if you're into that kind of thing. I'd buy them for parts if the price per part wasn't so high. Angry Birds is a pile of garbage. There isn't much in the Superheroes themes for me to get too excited about, except minifigures that I can buy on BrickLink. Elves is great, except for the minidolls, and I much prefer molded dragons to buildable ones. I never collected architecture because most are not in minifigure scale. Creator sets aren't that great, except the Expert series of modular buildings. Ghostbusters has nothing for me. As much as I am a fan of Ghostbusters 1 & 2, I'm not a superfan willing to spend that much money on it. I think I went through just about every theme with sets this year. I have my own reasons for being disappointed with this year. Mostly, though, the Pirates and Castle sets are what bring me to the store. The others are supplementary, and I buy them occasionally. Without Pirates and Castle sets this year, it's easy to be disappointed.

Megablocks (sorry) Star Trek The Original Series!

I personally find the Mega Bloks sets to be poorer than LEGO overall. I don't like the figures at all. There are things I do like. Sometimes they use unique colors you'd never find in LEGO. Sometimes, there are very interesting pieces. Also, they tend to get licenses that LEGO doesn't get. Overall, I think the build quality of the sets can be poor. I think that is true of these Star Trek ship sets in particular, actually more so than other Mega Bloks sets. The interior set looks just fine, but I think the contrast between the studded and tiled sections of the ships makes them look unfinished. I just don't like them. But to respond to your attitude, I'd say why do you even come here? Why do you insist that Mega Bloks is not inferior, because it actually is. That's not brand loyalty, that's a personal analysis of the products released by each company. I have purchased brick sets from companies other than LEGO, and I always find LEGO's product to be superior. LEGO's set design quality has been dropping lately, as well, but I still think they'd so a better job than Mega Bloks. If these ships are an example of their Signature Series, they are not better than UCS sets (Hoth excluded). I'm not trying to be unwelcoming, and that last bit would not have been posted had it not been in response to the vitriol of your own post. I don't have a problem with Mega Bloks fans coming to a LEGO forum to share their opinions, but there's no need for the attitude. My previous post was simply stating my opinion, not trying to attack anyone else's. While it's nice that you enjoy these sets, you have to somewhat expect people on a LEGO forum to prefer the LEGO brand, and to wish for these sets to have been made by LEGO. This is especially true of an intellectual property as popular and widespread as Star Trek, one that has yet to be tackled by LEGO. To expect otherwise, or to actively fight against it, is really just foolish.- 68 replies

I'd like to see more molded creatures, along the lines of the dewback, rancor, and tauntauns. There are plenty of creatures to draw from, but I guess the most prominent and likely would be those from the Geonosis arena.

Megablocks (sorry) Star Trek The Original Series!

It's too bad that LEGO couldn't pick up the license for such a pivotal milestone, Star Trek's 50th anniversary. They would have done a better job of it, these are not that good. Also, I dislike the figures and would love to see the characters as LEGO minifigures. I wonder if there are contractual intricacies involving their Star Wars license that prevent them from also working with Star Trek.- 68 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
x105Black replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I got a bunch of series 14 in August last year. Things are changing, though. I got lots of mine through Walgreens, and I haven't seen any series after that in the stores I visit. And the rest, I got through Target, but that store hasn't been breaking its street date with the last couple of series. -
