Any idea why this crane for rough terrain only have 2 axles? The mobile cranes I see in my city usually have 3 or even 4.

The functions of 42080 that are visible are: - Pneumatic functions: Raising the crane, and Closing the yellow grabbers. - Motorized functions: Compressor - Manual functions: Steering, and possibly raising the cab. There's no axle running through the crane arm, so I think it's possible to route an axle from the motor to the saw blade.

@AVCampos No sir they are not on details. Their shares in the overall appearance are no less than those of other colors. Imagine we have 100%. The distributions in most sets are like 50% main color, 40% secondary color, 10% highlight color. 42080 on the other hand distribute like 10-15% for each color. Urggh Like, I look at the set and I am totally unable to tell which one is the main color or secondary color.

So back to bashing the 42080, allow me to list the colors that appear in it: - DBG: wheels - Dark green: Lower half of the body. There are panels #5 an #6 in dark green for the first time. - White: a white stripe runs in the middle of the body, and the crane arm is white as well - Lime: Upper half of the body, and the cabin panels - Blue: The seat inside the cabin - Yellow: The cylinders and the grabber column - Red: The saw blade - LBG: Hose, and body - Black: Hose, and body - Orange: Chainsaw - Dark reddish brown: Log I usually don't agree with the complaints about the color vomit, but this set takes it way too far...

The 62.4 tyres look really oversized for the forklift. So my plan is: - Put the spare 4 wheels from Mack B model into the forklift. - Put those 62.4 wheesl from the forklift into my 9397 to give it proper duallies.

@aminnich Yes yes, we do have the pictures of 2017 2H together with their names. There are one fire rescue vehicle, one snow vehicle, one off road vehicle. Which one would you like to know abot?

Totally agree on the remote thing. These two functions need to be controlled simultaneously.

@Thirdwigg look at the current 3x5 dogbone frame. https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6055519 There are two slits at both ends of the bridge. Now look at the piece right under the Technic line. There are faint shadows of these two slits too. So it's gotta be a 3x7 dogbone frame. The 3x1 perpendicular piece that you suggested doesnt have these two slits.

Yes indeed the bracing on the boom of 42082. And based on the shadow, I think there are 4 gear rack quadrants in black. In other words it's the same XL turntable with 42055, but in black.

The new one is 3x7, not 3x5. The middle liftarm bridge now has 5 holes instead of 3 holes.

Just want to remind that I found a new part: Dog bone H frame 3x7 in red.

Are autonomous machines in real life really, like, totally autonomous? With no inteference at all from human? Or are they just controlled from a distance? I'm having a hard time picturing how a loader can be fully autonomous, like, totally aware of what it should do and how it should do...

It is quite an irony that the so-callled autonomous is not a remote control set...

I think it's comparable to the Unimog at best. Or maybe the Volvo loader. Unimog box is 57x48x9, while Volvo box is only 57x48x12. This 42082 box is 57x48x17...

I've done some research on box sizes and here's what I've learned: 42079: same box with 42050 Fire Plane.. 42080. same box with 42039 24 Hour Race Car. 42081. same box with 42054 CLAAS Xerion but is 1 cm thicker 42082: same box with 42055 BWE. Still dont understand why it needs such a big box.

I've just noticed '82 comes in a 57×48x17 box. Those are the same dimensions with the box of the the one and only 42055 BWE O___O All other flagships come in 57x48x12 or 57x48x9. No idea why it needs such a exceptionally big box when it looks nowhere near the BWE. Even the Unimog comes in 57x48x9. And I spotted MK on the boom. So Markus strikes again. I think I spotted a new part. It's the dog bone frame 3x7 (instead on 3x5 as usual) in red.

The flagship doesnt look like it has 2590 pcs. So it's likely that the Mack will be the set with highest piece count this year.

But really, the Forest Harvester looks really discomfortable because the color hodgepodge makes me feel dizzy. It looks like those fake box pic where some amateurs just slap their ill conceived and poorly designed sets on to a box.

Okk thanks to two Santas who should not be named I've seen the pics. And I feel meh. 42079 Forklift: I've always wanted a Technic forklift but this forklift looks subpar. The 62.4 wheels look oversized. The wheel bolts are like the ones in 42053. They look too small for 62.4 wheels. And there doesnt seem to be any realistic details. 42080 Forest Harvester: The color scheme is a mess o__O Rear body has lime for the upper half and dark green for lower half. Front body has black lower body, lime cabin, white crane arm, yellow pneumatic cylinder, red spinning cutting blade. I was like wth is this hodgepodge? 42081 Volvo Autonomous: I have no idea why Volvo would give license for this or why TLG would want a license for this. The rear body points upward like a butt. 42082 Crane: It has an exposed, I repeat, exposed V8 engine in the undercarriage with an orange fan like that in 42030. Like, it protrudes upward in the rear. And Im not a fan of exposed engine.
